Okay, about that prepping character shards, it's important to note that this does not apply to Cantina-exclusive farms, because of how important Signal data is, and because of how Cantina works. You can get characters from Cantina up within a few weeks, compared to the months you need for a hard node.

I agree with this take. I would much rather 7 star a character rapidly and worry about the signal data afterwards. Early to mid game, you're not gonna have many characters at relics so building a wider roster is usually the play so you can even stand a chance in GAC and tackle the different game modes

As someone who’s finally getting back into the game after a year.
This advice will be very helpful.
As it’s been a while since I’ve felt the new player energy grind.
    Thank you Phil!

this is how Phil somehow gets videos everyday, while using that stupid "squads" screen. Be redundant and aim his audience towards newer people to make him seem super intelligent on the subject.

One run, whether it's 10 energy or 20 does NOT equal one shard (two if accelerated). I've been playing since sometime around April 2024, bought a few LSBs and am around 3mil GP. I know I'm nowhere near optimal efficiency, but I also know that every time I sim a run, I don't necessarily get shards as a reward. So, unless you're under the assumption that the shards you pick up after repeated farming ends up evening out to "one run = one/two shards", if you have the time, could you explain to me where your equation for "x energy = x shards" comes from? Because honestly if I can figure out a reliable mathematic based farming habit instead of what feels like a bad game of Press Your Luck, not only could I improve my efficiency, but the satisfaction of seeing a working method will help tremendously with the levels of gratification, motivation and dedicated discipline required to push forward in a way that will make the game feel more like a game and less like a chore.

I think it comes down to the fact that they all entail an element of RNG. So you can use the formula he has, as if assuming x energy= x shards because it's just a simplification of the formula × energy × RNG= x shards × RNG. Since RNG is on both sides, you can cancel it out to simplify.
