A74 is a far more sensible buy for hybrid. FX30 with a decent lens may be a better option for video only.

This seems to be the go to camera if you don't wanna go with the really good but really expensive stuff.
This has a lot of potential to help people who don't know how to use a camera create professional looking content without needing someone to do all the camera work for them. Where I work, I want my people to create professional-looking content, but working a full frame camera is not in their skillset and I don't have time to work the camera for them. This could change things up for us :)

$2,199 is affordable? Lol. But anyway I miss the days when I took my DSLR E650D out for all the events I attended. Looking back I realise that the stabilisation for that DSLR is so bad that it's no wonder I don't bring it out lol 😅
Exactly my thoughts; 2200$ is not affordable especially when we have cameras on iphones and options like zv-e10 etc.
It is affordable because this is $5000 specs for $2200 and half the size. Keep in mind people who buy this make money with it.

Longtime fan of Justine here and by no means is this against her... but anybody else super confused by the sudden onslaught of "AI powered" tech that has suddenly entered the zeitgeist? I feel like every other headline I read is talking about ChatGPT, Midjourney, etc. Last year it was NFTs, now it's AI... I can't keep up!
NFTs and AI are nowhere near the same in terms of technological impact. AI is here to stay and the world as we know it will look VASTLY different sooner that we can even understand.

Well, they’ve been working on this for years and decided to launch it now.
I don’t like ai nor nfts but as long as they push it and people fall for it it will become a thing.
Too many people are suckers for new tech, until they learn that many of their basic freedoms are gradually being taken from them.

Well it is full frame after all and full frame + video is not a very cheap combination. For all of the capabilities this video camera has, it has a good price. Can't say the best, cheapest, since it isn't really cheap, but being full frame with such video capabilities, it is reasonably priced. I mean, I don't want to remind you but photography is an expensive hobby, but if it's a job, the price is justified.

It's a beautiful camera but you forget to say that people will have to stop vlogging after 35 min of filming in 4k, because at a weather temperature of 24 degrees or 75.2 fahrenheit that camera just overheated. Not really much vlogging fun with this problem

i don't see the need for this camera .. it's almost the same price as the higher end cameras in the Sony Line.. only with a couple weak extra options... I rather go for the A7S III

But its not. This is a full frame camera with same sensor as the high end FX6 cinema camera. Has way more features than the cropped sensor FX30. The only real advantage with the FX30 would be totally unlimited recording without overheating. As the fx30 has a fan. But this camera has the Netflix approved sensor with highest dynamic range. The fx30 only has good dynamic range if you shoot in the slog modes. It’s too much hassle as you have to grade the footage. I returned the fx30 for this reason. I’m planning on getting a white one to help with overheating. But so far it can record over and hour continuously good enough for me
@@thevintagelens Lol obviously you don't know about cameras. The Blackmagic cinema camera doesn't have a Full sensor either but is amazing at low light. The RED Komodo doesn't have a FF sensor either. If you know how to use it there's no difference at night. The Sony FX30 is an amazing camera. Is a cinema camera of course that you can use both Full Frame and APSC lenses. It can shoot 4K 120 and at low light there's no difference with FF sensor. There's no comparison actually with this camera. This camera is overpriced as it is.
The fx30 is the poor mans FX3 Which has the same full frame sensor as the ZVE1. It’s waist of money to put full frame lenses on the FX30 as while they work you are using cropped portion of the glass and the results are not as good as they were engineered for full frame. APSC lenses are much better option. Oh and yes the FX30 can shoot 4k 120 but its almost unusable as there is a additional crop of 1.62x. This is terrible. The ZVE1 will shoot 4k 120 with a firmware update in June with no crop. And there is absolutely big difference on low light. And in dynamic range. I know as I have both cameras FX3 and FX30 (Now gone)and tested them extensively.
The low light on blackmagic cinema camera is no where as good as the full frame sensor on the ZVE1 (same sensor on A7siii Or FX3. This sensor is so good its Netflix approved for use in production. Blackmagic makes very good cameras yes they are all cropped sensor cameras at the moment full frame sensor blackmagic camera is on the way. The Red komoto is the budget Red camera and has cropped sensor. This camera is designed to expensive cinema lenses and is on whole different level. Red does make a full frame cinema camera but on whole other level.
- A bigger sensor has bigger pixels which means each pixel can capture more light and this creates less noise at higher ISOs. A full frame sensor produces higher-resolution images than crop sensors. That's because they let in more light and detail. And for the same reason, they're also better in low-light conditions. They provide sharper, clearer images without setting higher ISOs.
And here is big one. Non full frame cameras have a crop so when you put on a 35mm lens its not 35mm its 56mm and 50mm is 80mm field of view. And its harder to get a shallow depth of field. When you put 35mm or 50mm lens on the full frame ZVE1 that the exact focal length it is and this is huge. So the FX30 is the poor mans FX3 and for almost the same price as the FX30 you can get the ZVE1 and that would be the better choice.
The readout speed on the sensor on the ZVE1 is one of the fastest out there. 8.7ms. This is rolling shutter artifacts jello. The FX30 is double that number. Lower is better.
@@thevintagelens Heating problems 12mpx only no Cine EI no CF Xpress can't record or stream for unlimited time. Very expensive. Better cameras out there like the FX30 Blackmagic 6K for real pros who knows how to shoot films and Docs. This camera is is for vloggers and people who don't know the art of cinema cameras. Also pretty expensive for a vlog camera IMO. FF cameras are overrated. As for the Netflix support who cares?
I think the Sony A7C is the best full frame camera for the price - efficiency! The best camera for studio video shooting on a tripod is the ZV-E10. The best camera in general is the A7V - oops until it comes out))).
Bottom line: Get the lenses for the E-Mount and don't worry! Sony makes probably the best products on the market. Thanks Sony!

At 3:07 did you use the 28-60mm kit lens? Doesn't seem wide enough as it cuts off your snow hat... seems like the FE 24mm f/2.8 G pancake lens might be a better option?
I don’t like the fact that Sony don’t release firmware updates as they should compared to other brands like Fujifilm and Panasonic. My A7RIV and A7SIII have not had any firmware update for long time.

What about overheating at 4K 120 fps?
What is the risk of only having one SD card slot? Could the video be lost if there is a card error and you don't have a copy?

I am just baffled how stabilization sucks and is ages behind smartphone cameras (needless to say, im a full frame noob)
The stabilisation on small sensor cameras in phones and GoPro (the best) is working with much, much less data. The processors are not good enough yet, this is about the best you can get on a full frame at the moment. Eventually I’d like to see Sony Implement Catalyst Browse or similar in camera on the fly.
This is the one between the ZV-E10 and the FX3 that I’ve been hoping they would bring out 😮

This camera is definitely not affordable. But if you are looking at the fx3 at $3900 or A7siii at $3500 this camera with the same sensor is a bargain. Especially considering it has more features that the others don’t have

Sony has started to do what CaNikon used to do. Incredibly slow incremental upgrades, and then charging their victims extortionate amounts of wonga for the privilege.
Luckily Canon and Nikon have super upped their game . Booyaaaah!
Also Sony has the worst aftercare service, warranty is useless. Make sure you get the extended cover. You have been warned.

sony ZV-E1 far too many compromises. without ND filter!!! unconvincing stabilization !!! gamut too bland!!! and especially case that heats up. So many reasons to say this is not a good case …
