When someone asks “What is the greatest song ever”, I generally say it is a stupid question as every song has its peculiar beauty depending on our mood and psychology at that moment. This one, however ,is something else, it smells quality and infinity, and can always be the answer of that stupid question.

Labrie absolutely nailed this performance. Pitch perfect with power and control. I wasn’t in love with his tone when I first heard it many years ago but it’s grown on me and I cannot imagine anyone else singing his parts. Now I get kind of bothered a little when people complain about his vocals. Only two singers I think could pull off his parts and sound like they fit would be maybe Devin Townsend or Mike Patton. Both have high and low range for days, great timbre, and the ability to fry scream better than just about anyone

I asked Portnoy about this, at a clinic, in the 90's. He said, we don't need to work out or do anything special for our diet. We have been practicing for 7 years, every day. ( before they ever toured ) I was not into some of their music, but from the first show, Images and words, It was their skills that blew my mind, and the music came second. Their skills and poise sold me on the first day, and I have not missed a tour, yet. I could not believe what I was watching and hearing. They flew under the radar for a long time, and finally the whole world can see their mastery.
