Is it possible to shoot in codec H.264 or is it always H.265?
Is it possible to shoot in aspec ratio 16:9? I only manage to shoot in super wide (dont know the aspec ratio)

@@jasonlewis460 I actually have the answer now since I bought the Xperia1iii. In CinemaPro its not possible to change from H.265 and you can only shoot in 21:9 aspecratio. I will make a "review" of this phone and app as a vlog camera/phone. Might be out next week

No ND filter?! How did you manage to not overexpose the footage with keeping the shutter angle at about 180??
Shooting at 120fps will change the frame rate a bit and allow you to shoot closer to 180 shutter angle in brighter light... At least that is how it is on the mark 2... However, you can shoot in brighter light without the ND filter you just have to do it carefully and adjust with shutter angle... I'm still learning how to process these videos...

21:9 aspect ratio is not great for viewing most footage that's available right now .eg UA-cam etc . So much is lost to the crop 😭😭😭

Maybe i'm watching in 1080p but why does footage looks so blurry and bad. Don't get me wrong shots are awesome it is the video quality of camera I'm talking about. Is it YT compression or is video quality is not good as compared to even an iPhone ?
I switched to 1080p on my 1080p screen and yes, it's definitely the UA-cam compression.
Since the difference is huge between 1080p and 2160p setting, even tho my phone can only display both at 1080p.

Footage looks flat and unappealing. Not really great footage for a brand new phone in 2021 which was released by a camera specialist.
shooting in LOG is pro level - lets you grade how you want. Maybe my color is not your style but you can definitely get the footage looking more punchy
It was intentionally made flat so that creators can apply the specific color grading that they want on the footage.
If you want punchy but still natural colors, you can just shoot a normal video in the Photo Pro Basic Mode.
Also its slightly overblown at some places, because its better when the footage has more exposure rather than less.
Its not for IG and Tiktok to take photos of your coffee and dog.. This is for professional Photography

Why reviews avoid comparing the best shots on Xperia cinema pro vs other phones? It's always stock camera
@@The-Heart-Will-Testify it's simple. Xperia phones won't do crazy unrealistic image processing. AI Enhances pictures which normal people tend to like. Instead it processes flat and natural pictures like regular cameras on their default settings. The video shot in cinema Pro needs to be graded as well because it is still in a RAW format (HLG). Highlights will be brown out just as on any mirrorless pro camera in default. And regular people say... Brown out highlights are bad. Well that's basically it. But one thing with this HDR format is that the highlight gradients are very creamy if well graded. Shadow detail is decent too.
Finally someone who can record with skill and release the full potential of the phone
Now Moment should make cases for it that would be the perfect mobile Photography pairing

You might be able to attach Moment lenses to it via their universal Moment lens clip attachment.
I was watching Marques Brownlee's video on the Xperia 1 III and he said the camera is "Meh". But judging by this video, the camera and video quality looks really nice!

Marques is an Apple drone he is knows a lot I like him to but he is very biased the camera has way more features and customization than apple or Samsung ever will.

Phones are mirrorless cameras as well. And Sony doesn't really like to add AI in it. So it just has it's Natural look, in exchange for dynamic range.

If a case was made it would be one of the nicest ones available on the market for this phone... Only Spigen makes legit cases for Xperia phones now... It used to be Incipio would make a decent case too... But high end cases are hard to come by for Xperia phones and even though I don't really ever use a case with my Xperia phones... I always buy one for trips... But a case with an nd filter/lense attachments I'd get in a heartbeat... It would be fantastic.

Looks better than iPhone only because of reduced artificial sharpness. IMO.
Xperia always produced the most natural and realistic photo quality than any of its rival.
Do you struggle to see what's going on under bright sunlight like Mark 1 and 2? That's why some of the scenes are overexposed?

Why you don"t test camera at night? it's first camera with 1 inch matrix. Other camera looks like this, if you test it at daylight
The coulours are misrable 0:58.
And no possibillity of zooming while recording.
And you can only record horisontally. Not vertically.
The system is generally very disfunctin al.
If they call themselves a hub of creators and photography gurus, then why not please the few who are as well? Would it represent such a loss to sell cases and accessories to a few hundred Xperia users per year?
Clearly one can’t make cinematic sequences like these in a Galaxy or a OnePlus 👀

Better provide video file sample for download, because UA-cam is not the best place to watch quality footage.
You guys should make a video about the photography capabilitys of the phone, specially action, sports, moving subjects. With the crazy fps and autofocus, should be a big step up from other smartphones and brands, even apple and samsung. With my Samsung, to take a photo of my dog moving at the right moment is pretty Hard, unless its a sunny day with the manual control. But i can't shot high fps with manual. And thats for all of the cameras of the xperia 1 iii. As a skater myself, should be awesome to get the perfect moment of trick for example.
I just wish i could get a moment case for o xperia 1 mark iii.

I thought the colors of both the scenery and skin tones appeared washed out and faded like snapshots from 50 years ago. I'm not saying I prefer the saturated look, but in my opinion, Sony went too far in the opposite direction.
You say "washed out" but it appears that you are meant to then go to a video editor and color grade the footage. The Cinema Pro app which is manual is meant to be like professional video cameras after all.
I own 12 Pro Max, S21 Ultra and Fold2 ......I'm really happy that Sony is back with a fully featured phone.....it has everything we need.....I want this phone ASAP, can you tell me how it is in terms of camera compared with my owned phones, or alpha cameras, your opinion will matter to me! 😃
