am I missing sth here? From what i could gather the max weight of this bike is 507 lbs so the rider can be a max of around 165 lbs, where in the world do you find an average guy with gear that 75kg?! Please tell me if I am missing sth
Hmm Thats news to me too. Had to check and aboslutely true. I found a 450 Rally manual where it states "Please stay within the specified loading limits, the maximum payload for the entire bike is 75kg, do not overload." Sounds kinda insane to me too 🤯
But I'm pretty sure this is yet another very brokenly written english manual and it has more to do with spring rates than the actual max payload but I could be wrong. But it's not the first and last time bikes coming from that part of the world have specs written by a 2 year old.
@@PatchedBandit - I was expecting that the Kove was a low version considering that you didn't mention that the bike is too tall 4 you. Compared with the Yamaha Tenere 700 ( my bike at the moment and she is not too tall for me) the kove is taller or just lighter and easier to maneuver.?
I've owned the T7 myself and the Kove even at this high version is much easier to maneuver. Coming to a stop is not as intimidating and the weight is carried very low as the front tanks touch the skidplate. I was very surprised that I could ride the bike as easily as I did. The tallnes on paper is not something most people need to worry about if they have a bit of experience. This being said taking all the potential out of this bike requires a much better rider than myself. This bike is a serious piece of kit cabable of a lot more but also easy enough to ride as a dualsport machine for most people.
Well. Not really because of a few reasons. BUT let's take the brands, dealer networks, parts availability etc. off the table for a second. For me it is pretty hard to say that the CRF300 is a better bike in any aspect of the bike it self. If they both wore Honda badge would we even be having the conversaiton 😊 Just a thought. But personally as I already own the honda and have put a lot of work and money towards making it my own I don't see a hasty reason to start selling it. Also I am probably not the direct target buyer for this kinda bike as my personal limitations as a rider are reached pretty well with my modded CRF300. So I would not realistically be gaining all that much with the Kove even though the bike can certainly do a lot more than me or my Honda. Always hard to do these test rides and direct comparisons as there are a lot of things to consider when we go to personal choises etc. If I didnt own the honda and had to pick from a fresh plate I would have a harder time making that choise. For most riders Kove is a better bike. Is it a better ownership experience is yet to be seen.
Yes. (Short answer) Yes. (Long answer) Just kidding.... But Yes as a CRF Rally owner i would sell my bike for a Kove because that´s the bike i was looking for but was not present in 2020 when i bought the CRF. I´m in the same boat as @PatchedBandit....i still like my CRF Rally and also put a small fortune of upgrades in it which makes the change not that easy. ......i´m waiting for a 2nd hand bike or ex-demo bike for sale.....i´m not in a rush because i still feel sympathy for my long term companion CRF which still puts a smile on my face after the ride just looking at it ;-) And No i´m not in the early 20´s anymore.....;-) Another reason is if you order a new one now you will get a EU5+ emission bike with two O2 sensors which makes adjusting the ECU a bit more complicated....and i don´t want an EU5+ emission bike. I will also wait for new competitiors (Aprilia 457 ADV maybe?).....if there are any coming up in 2025....or is the war already lost by the japanese and european manufacturers...are they still ignoring the customer demands and still reliying to tell the customer what he wants? Honda still has nothing on the list besides the 300....and there is no rumour that there is anything in the making. If the KOVE wear a Honda badge for the same price and you could have a look at it at your local retailer and do a test drive (without driving 250km or 400km to the closest importer or retailership as it right now my situation regarding test riding a KOVE) i would go straight away to my nearest retailer (2km away) , book a test ride and presumably order one. I spoke to many KOVE owners so far and did not get a bad statement of the bike. Everyone loves it besides its early quality issues which easily can be resolved. Also KOVE is improving the bike and quality in each production badge they put out to the customers which is something rarely to be seen by other manufacturers. I had a closer look at the KOVE and i´m really impressed by the build quality which is better than the Thai Honda CRF but not matching the japanese quality bikes (but it´s close , say 85-90%). Yes it is a chinese company but the manufacturer and the politics are two different sides of the story. I said "i will never buy a chinese bike" years ago until KOVE came up..... As time evolved also spare and aftermarket parts availibilty for the KOVE is not an issue anymore. Long term reliability is yet to be proven but there is at least one KOVE out there i know of with more than 25000km still going.... If you compare the price tag there is not much of a reason to get a new CRF , the difference is very small if you put the suspension and ECU and exhaust on the list of the CRF still not matching the power and the fuel capacity of the KOVE. The KOVE is definitly capable doing way more gnarly stuff that i will ever think of riding into, so maybe a bit too much for my type of riding but i still feel the lack of power sometimes with the CRF and this reminds me everytime that there is a KOVE somewhere....the Unicorn...? Maanantaina lähtö etelän reissulle prätkällä. Viro, Latvia, Liettua, puola, saksa, tanska, ruotsi ja siitä takas kotia Kokkolaan 👍🏻
Seki on kiva lenkura. Kävim tuon saman joskus ajaan 650 gessulla. Saatan lähtee Tuaregilla, kun siellä on niitä nousuja paljo norjassa. Tuareg videot eioo kauheen hyvin vetäny verrattuna Hondaan 😅
am I missing sth here? From what i could gather the max weight of this bike is 507 lbs so the rider can be a max of around 165 lbs, where in the world do you find an average guy with gear that 75kg?! Please tell me if I am missing sth
Hmm Thats news to me too. Had to check and aboslutely true. I found a 450 Rally manual where it states
"Please stay within the specified loading limits, the maximum payload for the entire bike is 75kg, do not overload."
Sounds kinda insane to me too 🤯
But I'm pretty sure this is yet another very brokenly written english manual and it has more to do with spring rates than the actual max payload but I could be wrong.
But it's not the first and last time bikes coming from that part of the world have specs written by a 2 year old.
did you ride a high or low version?
This was the high version.
@@PatchedBandit - many thanks. I'm 186-long legs. Will go 4 a high version 😀
Definitely. High is the one for you no doubt. I’m 174.
would you sell the crf tomorow for one ??!!
Is it a better ownership experience is yet to be seen.
yes. 100%
Yes. (Short answer)
Yes. (Long answer)
Just kidding....
But Yes as a CRF Rally owner i would sell my bike for a Kove because that´s the bike i was looking for but was not present in 2020 when i bought the CRF.
I´m in the same boat as @PatchedBandit....i still like my CRF Rally and also put a small fortune of upgrades in it which makes the change not that easy.
......i´m waiting for a 2nd hand bike or ex-demo bike for sale.....i´m not in a rush because i still feel sympathy for my long term companion CRF which still puts a smile on my face after the ride just looking at it ;-) And No i´m not in the early 20´s anymore.....;-)
Another reason is if you order a new one now you will get a EU5+ emission bike with two O2 sensors which makes adjusting the ECU a bit more complicated....and i don´t want an EU5+ emission bike.

😅
Just suprised of how you crashed the turn...
Doest need to be a long distraction in the right place and right time 😅 bike got light going over the hill and had 0 grip to turn. Didnt follow the rule ”drive slow enought to stop in the distance you see” i guess
@@PatchedBandit next time, the eyes stays on the road🤣
Man, the crash looks pretty awful from the look of the body work damages and mirror...
The crash - what the hell happened?
I guess even I can't be perfect all the time 🤷♂️
@@PatchedBandityou where sitting down, right? No problem with that but it looked like you didn't put the weight on the pegs and compensate for that corner.. that you didn't saw due to the bump 😅 been there, done that .. full throttle keep you in pole position, as long you're not ditching 😂🤙
Snapped a tree with your nuts😂
Steel 🍒 😂
Why did you drive in the ditch 😊
for the video
@@PatchedBandit I get it. Having ridden a Kove 450, Its really easy to forget how fast youre going. The bike is just so smooth and comfortable at speed it is effortless and the slightest distraction and boom your in the ditch.
Compliment for your english
Thank you! 😃 It's pretty hard to make these in a second language but Iits nice that some people still like to watch 🙏
How did you manage to fall off on a simple dirt track. That was definitely rider error.
Didnt I say it was my fault in the video?
You mention several times offroading on the video. I didn't see that at all despite that diving on the ditch. I think those are gravel roads, not offroads.
Thank you for the education
@@PatchedBandit 😀I didn't want to be asshole but maybe it sounds like it. Sorry.
@@suupaltti I say all kinds of crazy things when I try to improvise 30 minutes of useable material. It's not the first and will not be my last mistake.
I should use wording like off the paved road. Biggest hurdle is to do this in my second language. I would love to do content in Finnish but nobody would watch it.
I would love to take Kove out where I live so I could find some better more technical riding too to mix things up but I don't know anything in Lahti so I just had to do TET and most of TET is like this.
Kove 450 is crap....
Another mans crap is another mans treasure 🤷♂️
Jealous….poor guy !
Pretty stup1d ignorant comment mate, well done.....
