    Good video. This rig definitely works. Suggestion - Perhaps using a sand paper to create some kind of traction marking on the tubing before gluing it down would help hold it down better.

    It works. Used a glitter purple ribbon tail with a treble at the end of the rig on the slip ring. Caught one and had two monster hits. Going to try and have a weedless hook front and end . I have some set up in my tackle box and just need to run the line and the hooks.

    I worked for worden lures for over 27 years in maintenance and reserch and development and design..
    This will be better then any plug or roostertail. So life like. Cant wait to try it...plugs cost way to much, this is easy on the checkbook. Thank you. Oh i do a lot of catfishing here will jigs and spoons in the river. Fish them like i am steelhead fishing. Cant wait to try this on cats.
    I catch more cats when sun starts to rise then at night..night fishing is fun but so is catching alot of fish in daylight.
    I think this worm rig will nail them..

    Did the exact same thing today. First cast, caught a fish. Couple of things because I AM a good teacher, so you're in luck. First, you must be fast with the glue. It dries fast against plastics for some reason. Next, don't put the split ring line end through the plastic. Just slip it through at the end. (OOOH! Get those split rings in the craft dept, NOT the Sporting goods isle for a FRACTION of the cost.)
    Lastly, this technique can be used on ANY plastic! Think Gulp shrimp on a cork in saltwater. I live in Florida, and this is HOT right now.

    Saw Matt Stefan do a video this week on this rig. Your video was actually better . I like this rig. Thinking instead of using a ring why not a barrel swivel and make it a drop shot . A heavier sinker anchored on the bottom would really make the worm act up .

    • @BreamBassBeyond
      @BreamBassBeyond  2 роки тому +4

      I appreciate the compliment, means alot! A barrel swivel would definitely work, I personally like the split ring better because I feel it adds to the versatility of the lure. With the split ring you could attach another hook, a spinner blade, a weight or a swivel like you're saying in order to drop shot. I've got a feeling we're gonna see all kind of variations of this thing! Appreciate you watching!

    • @andreabruno5495

    As an experienced fly angler and and Muskie fishermen I suggest tying them like Muskie tube flies. This is serves two purposes. First, it allows for a direct and positive connection between hook and line. Secondly, it allows the bait to slip up the line after the strike and hook set to leave the hook unimpeded in the fishes mouth.
    I suggest looking up tube flies.
    Also strong light hooks with a drop shot rig placed in front of the bait to keep the bait in the strike zone longer.
    I feel that worms are the incorrect use for this rig. Long crawdad baits or fluke type bates with just two tubes in them would be much more effective. This would cause the bait to fold in half and spring open instead of bunching up into a ball.

    The worm only moves like that when you hold the hook like that between your fingers! If it hangs freely and if you pull on the fishing line, it does not move like that !?

    • @BreamBassBeyond

      It moves like that in the water too, the water provides the necessary resistance.

    I’ve made a few of these up ahead of time before I go fishing to give them a try. But to me, these look like one fish, one rig set up, if you hook into a fish with any size. With all the tension in the line I’m guessing that split ring will pull right through the tail without a piece of tubing to stop it. It looks interesting and I’m going to give it a try.

    • @BreamBassBeyond
      @BreamBassBeyond  2 роки тому

      I can verify that you are correct about the split ring pulling through, fortunately in my experience so far you can just push the split ring back through the bottom hole when this happens. They're definitely not very durable, the most I've been able to manage on a single rig is two fish before the worm is destroyed. Appreciate you watching and commenting!

    • @middsmx5595
      @middsmx5595 2 роки тому

      I’ve watched several videos of bass taking plastic baits and they just inhale the whole lure. That being said. If the hook was on the tail instead of the head, wouldn’t it work the same way without putting so much strain on the rest of the rig? Don’t know if anyone has tried that yet.

      @@BreamBassBeyond This would have been the late eighties/ early nineties. Got them at a fishing show. It was a funny shaped sinker in which the line didn't go straight through the sinker, the hole in the sinker had 2 bends, straight then up then straight again, like a letter Z pattern. I've forgotten exactly how the rest of the rigging was done, but the kinks in the sinker provided the same kind of action as the coffee stirrer does. If I saw them again I would know it, they were oddly shaped. I dont think it from a major manufacturer.

    How was the hookset with hook sliding?

      Didn't seem to cause a problem for me, I kinda just pulled into it the same way I would with either a wacky rig or dropshot.

    Can you weight it?

    • @BreamBassBeyond
      @BreamBassBeyond  2 роки тому

      You definitely could, you could either add a dropshot weight onto that split ring, stick a nail weight into the tail like you would on a neko rig or add a splitshot weight above the rig!

    Not to be negative, but and there is always a but - sometimes a big one and sometimes a little one, but always a but - anyhow, this looks like it takes a long time to rig up and personally I would not sit and do that rigging myself, if worms were poured or came with the tubes preinstalled maybe? but who's to say those same bass would not have hit a wacky rig or Texas rig ?
    That's my 2 cents - good video though - picking up some views ,so what the hell do I know ?

    • @BreamBassBeyond
      @BreamBassBeyond  2 роки тому +1

      I'm going to pre-rig a few to use from time to time, definitely not something I would want to rig up onsite! I guarantee you they definitely would have hit a wacky rig, nobody wants to see the wacky rig right now though, all the hype is around this new one! Appreciate you watching man!
