- IMPORTANT NOTICE : Due to the disqualification of OSTAPSCHUK for drugs and when it will be fully confirmed , Valerie ADAMS will be awarded the GOLD medal and all the throwers will move one rank ahead with new medallists . So Valerie will have finally retained her Beijing Title . It is quite sad that she (and the other new medallists) were stolen the recognition by the spectators and world on the day in he Olympic stadium. But there has been some sort of justice at the end . I am going to remake some parts of this video according this fact. DP

You need a great legs explosivity to make the best use of the rotational technique with the jumping delivery. Women have less explosivity than men compared to their body weight. But out of that there is no reason that some women may perform better rotational than linear depending on their morphology and specificity. I would really like to try with some basket ball or volley ball players as well as girls from the Caraib area who have high explosivity qualities

I hate it that Ostapchuk took the gold medal experience away from Val who truly works hard for it. Ostapchuk has ruined her career and reputation.
Makes me sad seeing Valerie gutted at the end of her throws. But its lightened by the fact that Ostapchuk lost her gold.
In addition to what DP said, (see above), the weight of the women's shot is small enough that height is less of a factor when choosing to glide. For men it is difficult to glide when you're shorter because of the weight of the shot and the leverage needed to accelerate it. This is diminished for women.

I am going to modify some parts of this video after confirmation of the disqualification of OSTAPSCHUK for doping. Felicitations to Valerie ADAMS and other new medallists. Shame on Ostapschuk . Hopefully she will have a life ban . Not only for cheating but for stealing the medals from other athletes in the competition and the honor of all the women shot put throwers and coaches in the world. DP

and also wait for tsikhan case to be proven completely, i just know that olympic comitee could allow him to participate, but they decided not to, because politics got into sport and because tsikhan would have crushed everybody there, as he is the best hammer thrower after USSR hammer throwers, as his coach said he was ready to break world record and he was world leader for this year too

Im happy for the truth after all the things that happened,it would have been really grate to see valerie beating ostapchuck even with the anabolics she took,but anyway she deserves the gold medal,ik a costa rican but i cheer NZ's shotputters
1) Why change the video? History is as it happened on the day. Changing it is rewriting history.
2) This episode is not cut and tried. Why would Ostapschuk do this? As she said "you would have to be an idiot to take an outdated easily detected drug". She also said that the IOC is against Belarus.
3) Remember that medals can be altered any time for the next 20 years. That means that Ostapschuk could still get back her gold, if foul play is proven.
By the way, I am a NZer and support Val.

I agree. It makes me ashamed that Kiwis are doing this. Also, I'm also not entirely convinced she did cheat. A lot of experts agree with this point of view. I don't trust the motives of the IOC. They are certainly cheats. It is a nasty money making business.
