Lies of P is genuinely a fantastic game, you should play it. This is coming from a diehard soulsfan who still loves Bloodborne, and Lies of P comes damn close to it.
This game isn't even that old, BoI Rebirth is quite new and improved compared to the first BoI which was basically a Flash game with an .exe. There is a semi famous Canadian UA-camr who made a career of playing that game, his name channel is called Northerniion. I have fond memories of watching over 100 videos of his old BoI playthrough around 2012 xD

My first console i played a ton was the Sage Genesis (the us release was called the Genesis) which had just sonic (or thats all i played that I remember.) then N64, then PS/2.

Wasn't a fan of Lies of P myself, found it was too linear. I prefer the more open metroidvenia style worlds (Dark Souls, Hollow Knight, Bloodborne), though Elden Ring was a step too far outside of the legacy dungeons. Would be interested in seeing you guys play it though as your Dark Souls 2 playthrough was great.
