Guitar Chords: G, F9, E5+, Am7, Em5 All chords are variations, except for E5+ It's hard to learn quick switch this chords, but easy to master Easy because it's the same pattern for all chords Hard because it's finger style Music is love
This helped so much! Another way to play that first chord that is slightly easier for me is literally picking straight down the last 4 strings 5, 5, open, 3. Same chord, without the insane stretch. Then you can switch right back into the alternating picking pattern.
Congrats for having a shirt of Unknown Pleasures that actually understands the cover. No letters. Just a signal lost in a sea of darkness. Great tutorial as well!!!
I'm just glad so many people were able to find this to be of use. There's a lot of really intricate picking stuff on this album, and figuring it out is super rewarding.
I’m wish I had his other instrument too! It would blend so much better with the uke, which is something I’ve struggled with in recording as a guitar/ukulele player. But you played this really well. Your play through at the end was awesome.
I love this tutorial, it’s the best one I can find. Thank you for making making sufjan Stevan tutorial I love his songs. I don’t have a ukulele, do I repeat the all the chord on guitar for the rest of the song?
when i heard the guitar part i thought it was wrong (the picking pattern) but then i heard the ukulele part and it sounded right probably because it's the instrument i hear most in the song
Very nice Man. This is just what I was looking for. If you let me, I'd suggest to take a little more care of the camera angle so we can see more clearly where your guitarrist fingers are on. I'm so happy there's people with such audition sensitive. Big hug from Spain ;)
Definitely could have done a better job of that. I'm really busy so I don't have a ton of time to do it but I want to get around to writing a tab for those who need it. Thanks for checking it out! Hope it still helped.
Scott Anderson honestly I’m really impressed that you could see double dash there lol. Yes to Halo, Burnout, no to prince of Persia, rayman and Mario Party. No Farcry either.
I’m having difficulties with the high tempo (172bpm?) and the subtlety different chord changes. Sometimes it goes over the a minor 7 shape (which actually is the "center-chord"🎾 of the song) and sometimes not. Big thank you and greetings from Germany!
Hey there! Your video was very helpful and you definitely nailed the notes, but I was tinkering a bit and I think I found a much easier way to play these exact same voicings up the neck and down a set of strings. If you use my method, you put the capo on the 9th fret, and the the shapes to each chord is as follows (relative to the capo). X X X X then later X 3 3 3 3 5 0 0 0 2 4 4 2 0 2 2 5 3 2 0 3 X X X X 0 The only part of my way that's tricky is 1, if your guitar doesn't have a cutaway it could be impossible, and 2 the second chord of the chorus is a little harder my way, but for me its a worthwhile switch because it makes the first chord much much easier, and honestly you can just play the first chord of the song in lieu of the actual second chord in the chorus and it will sound only one note different, and pretty much has the same function in context (super cool how the voicing is ambiguous enough to sound like the 1 chord or the 5 chord depending on the surrounding context). Thanks for your video :^)
Wow i love your video and your version of Death with dignity. Could you perhaps create a sheet or something like that? So I can learn straight from it?
that first chords almost broke my fingers lmao
Holy shit, this. How the fuck?

Thank you, playing this at a funeral tomorrow, really appreciate you figuring this out.

Great tip! Whatever works, right? Glad you found the video helpful.
Thanks a bunch! I almost gave up trying to stretch my hand for that first chord.
Just letting you know your tip is still very helpful to some!
Still helping from the void of time 🌌
And thank you for course to the OP brining us here.

Congrats for having a shirt of Unknown Pleasures that actually understands the cover. No letters. Just a signal lost in a sea of darkness. Great tutorial as well!!!
If anyone finds the placing the first chord difficult, you can try x-x-5-5-0-3 (relative to the capo ;) and the plucking pattern as DGBE (4321) .
Yes that first chord was really hard! Thanks for the alternate
This was so beautifully done
Very well done man. Surprised me when you showed the Ukulele part as well!
Thanks! Yeah, the ukulele part took me forever to figure out, but when it clicked, it was the biggest Eureka moment.
Really great breakdown. Appreciate it !
I'm just glad so many people were able to find this to be of use. There's a lot of really intricate picking stuff on this album, and figuring it out is super rewarding.

thanks mate! great tutorial
So good!
Helpful to tune the b string up a semitone to a c for this, makes it easier to play (esp. that first chord).
Thanks a lot mate. Nailed it !
Appreciate it! Glad you found it helpful :)
mann dats beautiful thanks
Sufjan in the foreground and mario kart double dash in the back this channel is IT
I also think I see halo 3, burnout 3, prince of persia, GTA 4, rayman, and a mario party game and im gonna take a big swing and go farcry instincts.
Scott Anderson honestly I’m really impressed that you could see double dash there lol.
Yes to Halo, Burnout, no to prince of Persia, rayman and Mario Party. No Farcry either.
Great job
Damn! Now I need a Ukulele !
Could you post tabs? Your version sounds almost like the actual one! The explanation is a bit confusing is all.
I've been super busy but I'm gonna try to get around to it! sorry for the long wait haha
