Michelin, can you make a test with 2 different sizes but same rolling circumference, ex: 195/60/17 vs 235/50/17. Would be interesting to see fuel consumption.
Wow very nice and useful amazing video. You very nice explain stap by stap improve fuel economy". I love your video. Thank you for sharing this video ☺️
Great information and video. I'm running a set of Pilot Sport 4s on my Mustang and the P.S.I recommendation on the label suggests 32 p.s.i. I always check and set this pressure on cold tyres before heading off on a long trip, but the pressure increases by 3 - 4 p.s.i. when warmed up , I understand air expands when hot hence the extra pressure. So my question to you is it OK to drive on pressure that is 36 p.s.i. when tyres are heated up on these Tyres? I can't get a straight answer here in Australia.
If the manufacturers say measure tyre pressures when the tyre is cold then they are allowing that pressure to rise when hot. If you measure when hot then you have to be under inflating your tyres.
Auto manufacturers set tire pressure a bit lower than optimal for tire carrying capacity and rolling resistance. They do this to augment the suspension and give a softer ride. I set tires to 35 p.s.i. This gives slightly less rolling resistance, sharper steering, and slightly greater carrying capacity. You can safely go all the way up to the maximum tire pressure listed on the sidewall of the tire. In fact, try the tires at maximum pressure as listed on the sidewall. You will feel the difference immediately in much sharper steering and a rougher ride. 32 psi will feel lifeless and squishy after trying the maximum pressure. 35 psi is a good balance point between the two.
Because my MDX front is 5 and my back is 6 and that was last year in 2021 in nov so what you think I should do and my break pad is in the middle of 12 in the front and 8 in the back ??????? I have a Nissan 2015 and a MDX 2020 what tires you think that will last longer and save gas ⛽️
I am wanting to purchase the Michelin cross climate 2 tires but am skeptical. I’ve been hearing mixed reviews of people losing or gaining mpg. Does this depend on the vehicle? I own a 2009 Honda Civic LX sedan. I feel like this is persistent in SUVs/Trucks only. Regardless, if necessary, I don’t mind losing 1-2 mpg when it comes to overall safety!
This still DOES NOT explain why the manufacturer states I should use 33PSI "comfort" and 39PSI "ECO". They do not specify the definition of "eco" and never refer to it as economy, but this would over-inflating the tyres. The car bounces, finds every bump and is more likely to damage the wheels over holes.
Hello ! How is michelin primacy 4 suv size 235/55 r19 105w for my lexus rx450hybrid gyl16 2010 ? Made by Thailand. Manufacture date June 2022. Company recommended 34psi tyre pressure. 1:38 I remember when "conservatives" lost their collective 💩 when President Obama recommended people checking their tire pressure to improve fuel efficiency.
Do new tires have more rolling resistance than tires that been driven 30,000 miles?
