    A charging port replacement job. A lot of things are different if I compare this to your more recent works. Now you solder the front pins first and things look britlghter and clearer under your microscope. Overall presentation is almost the same. The way you speak and the things you say are the same. Like always, nice work!

    What do you call that paste you put before soldering to remove the charging pin?

    • @darkwinter6028
      @darkwinter6028 3 роки тому +2

      You’re probably asking about flux. It keeps oxides from forming when the solder gets hot; these oxides prevent the solder from flowing and attaching to the pins and pads on the board.

      Test the voltage on the component connecting to the 5V pin to make sure voltage is reaching. It not, then connector may not be soldered on properly. Look at the whole area around the charging port and make sure you did not knock off any components during the process. I'm assuming pads and lines are good.

    What is allo or alloy all I see is solder and Flux

    • @darkwinter6028
      @darkwinter6028 3 роки тому

      Low melt solder. All solder is an alloy (a mix of metals); and he just dropped the “low melting point solder” part because it gets to be a mouthful to say over and over.

    Sits silent!! no explanation for anything EG: what temps are we talking, whats the Gel stuff, whats that Copper stuff, what are you doing with it? Good Video but for someone wanting to know how to do this...completely useless.

      This was the very first video posted on this channel. We came along way since. :-)

    • @darkwinter6028
      @darkwinter6028 3 роки тому +2

      Gel: Flux; it makes solder flow and attach to components.
      Temperature: varies depending on your iron, and what solder your using; I personally run about 280C with standard 63/37 leaded solder, but low-melting solder can run as low as down around 100C or so.
      Not sure what you meant by copper stuff... perhaps you meant the low-melt solder he added first? He did that to keep the solder liquid longer without the iron there; so he could just lift the part off the board.
