Before anyone comments, unfortunately I was forced to truncate Kirk's iconic monolouge a little to so as to allow the new ending of the monolouge to fit before the ship goes to warp. Sorry! Also, the ship's initial flyby animation was indeed a bit rough. When I built this, I simply copied the animation from my "TOS in TNG" intro. @@NiTeHaWKnz it's not really. The difference between the sound of 40 people playing an orchestral piece vs 100 is very noticeable firstly. Secondly if you actually looked at the sheet music (score) for the two of them, they're different. For example the original, there are 6 seperate horn parts, 4 trumpet parts, 5 trombone parts, and 2 tuba parts. In the tv version, it had to be adjusted and changed to accomodate 4 horns, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, and 1 tuba. The original had 3 flute parts, 3 clarinet parts, 3 oboe parts, and 3 bassoon parts along with a contrabasoon, Eb clarinet, and bass clarinet. There are only 2 flute parts, 2 oboe, 2 clarinet, and two bassoon, with no contrabasoon, Eb clarinet, and bass clarinet in the TV version. The original has a piano part, the tv one does not. On top of this, the people playing do matter, abilities are different, interpretations change, the conductor was different. Jerry Goldsmith wasn't involved with anything to do with TNGs music other than he had written the score for the motion picture, which paramount owns and could do anything with. I loved how in the last scene as we pass over the ship, you can see into the V.I.P. lounge Windows .the furniture.
( in the original TNG version, Picard is seen walking by.)
@@johnbockelie3899 Apparently it was just a rough pencil sketch animation in the TNG open. I always thought it was Riker.
@@BobbyD262 I always thought the janitor was cleaning up after another wild party. Either that or Picard staring out the window.
I just watched this again and it is simply the best!!
Brilliant. Just brilliant. I love The Motion Picture, and this just adds something special to it
You forgot Admiral Kirk walking by inside the VIP lounge window. Super neat treatment of TMP/ TNG mixture.
( TNG had " Picard" in the window if you look fast enough.)
PERFECT!! The second I saw the Starbase and The Enterprise how it asthetically looked, I was grinning from ear to ear like a child.
Just send that to Paramount and have Shatner record that opening, done.
Nothing more needed :D
I'm a stickler when it comes to CGI BUT THIS SHIZ RIGHT HERE! DAMN!
It looks real, as in looks like the real models.
Only one other time was my brain dumbfounded by what I was looking at.
And that was the Millenium Falcon leaving Jakku for the first time. Genuinley didn't know if it was CG or not.
That looks so damn good, I thought it was official! This is a masterpiece!! My hat is off to you!
I love that you even used the TMP warp effect. best one I think.
Probably what ST: Phase II would have looked like.
Having seen concept art of that version of the refit, it looks strikingly similar to what Discovery ended up looking like.
Very good! Now that's STAR TREK opening!!
Great Modeling! Looks like the physical model. Very photorealistic! Great job!
PS: thanks for getting the Warp effect right.
Love, love the pan over of the Starbase and the Enterprise getting ready for warp. Perfect!! I've watch this about 5 times now.
nice audio mixing!
This was absolutely sublime. I got chills, goosebumps, and this ecstatic feeling, it was ALL perfect and beautiful. Thank you, THANK YOU.
This would have been a great opening for "Star Trek: [Phase] 2", if they ever made the show.
It’s Phase 2 it was going to be called
@@ronaldcustard4636
I stand corrected. and Edited.
@@DocWolph 👍👍👍
This is Star Trek! Not this new shit since 2009... Thank you for all your work!
I wholeheartedly agree with you 100%! Jar Jar A-hole turned Star Trek into f-ing garbage. And now now that the name Alan Kurtzman (who should be referred to as "A-hole Klutzman") is attached to Star Trek, what is gold pressed platinum is now just plain crap.
She looks as beautiful as ever!
Fantastic to watch this with the strong music motivating the angles shot of flight of the Enterprise. Excellent details and lighting.
This gave me goosebumps! Your model of the enterprise is exquisite! Spot on!!!
0:13 when that low horn comes in, I get chills. I love all Star Trek (excluding the Jar Jar Abrams trek and Discovery) but TNG, for whatever reason, just hits home for me every time. Will always hold a special place in my heart ❤️
hey discovery isn't that bad, and jj abrams's, yes...they're full of mistakes, but after all they're still part of the franchise. in fact I like discovery
OMG this is amazing! Why does this channel have so few subs? Completely underrated!
This is the single best Star Trek intro I've ever seen in my life. Fair winds, and following seas.
Now THAT'S how its done!
This was stunning!!! Thecwarp speed effect from the firts movie is epic. 👏👏👏👏👏👏
The refit Constitution class starship is the sleekest of them all.
Are you kidding, this is killer. Fantastic job to all involved.👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Great visuals man
This was very cool.
We could see plants in the hydroponics bays.
Top tier trek fan work.
oh baby love it
Wow this is incredible. Great Job 👍👍👍👍👍 she be a fine ship
This owns, and that warp effect is just timeless and always amazing. What software do you render your scenes in?
DAYMN---now thats a sweet killer intro.
Always appreciated that TNG expanded "no man" to "no one" has gone before.
"Man" means "Human" the change was PC bullshit.
@@wetlazer Basically this. Either monologue is fine. It's not what they changed. It's why.
@@jamesp8164 Political Correctness is WHY it changed. The point is the change was NOT needed. People were TOO stupid to understand that "Man" was short for "Human" and had NOTHING to do with the patriarchy. Wasn't needed.
It's actually inaccurate as the galaxy is teaming with space fairing alien life who have at it longer than we have. No Human would be more accurate.
Perhaps, but the series is really about the human condition. It's the classic heroes journey, @@wire9486. All of US are all WE really, actually know. WE do not know any alien races. There was no actual GROUP excluded. It's PC nonsense.
Good video! That movie was basically a 2 part pilot, you could easily watch this before the movie starts. Lol.
Hear me out, make this an actual TNG theme. Just change the names and the ship. Keep the current font too!
Just fantastic!
The way the music faded out, I was expecting it to go into the Klingon battle theme. I guess I've seen the movie too many times.
I agree with other posters - this version of the Enterprise is still my favorite. It looks the most real of all of them.
Added the TNG visual concept to the original score of TMP of which TNG used i like it🤣
Wow! I had my doubts, but this was fun. Nice 1701 model!
In TMP they never show the starboard side of the enterprise in the entire movie
I'd imagine that's where the arm was mounted that held the model up in front of the bluescreen.
I miss the old days of Star Trek so much. They were the best.
I can't be the only one that knows the TNG theme music first appeared in TMP..
Wooow that was incredible!! The CG model is legit the best refit conny I’ve ever seen 🖖🏻
The theme is actually from Star Trek The Motion Picture. TNG did not have an original theme at all
Wonderful. Love the TMP Going to Warp Effect. Far better then the "Streching of the Ship" Effect that came later.
Very nice. I never get tired of Jerry Goldsmith's theme music.
He was The GOAT!
This the best CG Enterprise I've seen on UA-cam. That lighting is great. Congrats.
Absolutely outstanding. Special effects that could put Industrial Light and Magic to shame. A truly amazing film introduction.
I could watch this version of the enterprise all day long. Beautiful work.
Beautiful work guys! Wow!
I'm all excited and tingly inside. I love the FX when it goes into warp.
I watch this almost daily at this point. It's so well done!! Thank you for all the work you put into these videos.
CGI was absolutely brilliant and spot on. And the best looking warp engagement style EVER was used as well. Great detail having the impulse drive lights turn out prior to warp also. Excellent work.
Oh wow! I’m not a purist who can spot any tiny imperfection, but for me, that… was… awesome! Loved the shots through windows into sets from the movie. Loved the ending, the right down the barrel jump to warp was especially stirring. And shout out for the typography!
Well done! The warp drive special effcts from Star Trek The Motion Picture are the best ones of all
You brought tears to this original Trekker's eyes. The original TMP warp effect was always the best. It showed how awesome and sometimes how dangerous it was going into warp with unproven engines. Bravo. Give me the Enterprise...no bloody A, B, C Or D any day. The original and refit 1701's are iconic.
I think this is the greatest thing I've ever seen. Love it
