“Valuable evidence, that’s going to convict a maniac that have been trying to apprehend, and had been in high speed pursuit of……..FOR 700 MILES!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
The funniest movie and so much fun to watch! My buddies and I used to ride our bikes to the local theater and for $1.25 .. we would laugh our azzes off … we made this treck 52 times just to see this masterpiece.. bout 49 years ago ish ha ha
Imagine at this movie's debut, I didn't know who Broderick Crawford was. Now, at 59 I catch an early morning rerun of Highway Patrol.... starring none other, Broderick Crawford. Life epiphany
He really insulted Junior so many times in the movie. Junior looked exhausted by the end of it. At the end..Daddy wait for me... Who's gonna hold your hat?😂😂😅 Brilliant movie and actors.
I've seen this movie 1000 times and I JUST realized that is the most cordial and respectful Sheriff Justice has ever been there in the beginning. He was polite and thoughtful and respectful to ask the trooper not to curse in front of his son (hypocrisy is de@d get over it lol). He even thought to steer the trooper back out of the way of oncoming traffic after practically pushing him into the road one finger at a time. What ah fine southern geneman. LOL
That's exceptionally believable age range for someone to be a parent. My dad was 22 and my mom was nearing 19 when they had their firstborn [my late older brother who died tragically some time ago].
I swear, Mike Henry must have had the hardest job among the whole cast keeping a straight face in front of the legendary Jackie Gleason bringing his A-game to every scene.
And Jackie Gleeson was actually born and bred NY person. His portray of the Southern Scheriff is absolutely genius!! 🙏 🪦
Texan sherrif
Wow!
His accent is terrible
Easily one of the BEST scenes of this film and the1970's as a whole. The facial expressions and dialogue are incredible!
Ad libbing played a big part in it.
Apart from the little girl getting shot in "Attack on precinct 13". Its a great scene.
I'll bet this scene wasn't part of the script which makes it even better
Buford T Justice is so frickin’ hilarious 😂
When there was no CGI just good ol acting
Cgi wouldn't have been needed for this scene anyway...
When he explodes into HOOOOLD IT!!!
😂😂😂😂😂
HOOOOOOOLLD IT!!!!
“Valuable evidence, that’s going to convict a maniac that have been trying to apprehend, and had been in high speed pursuit of……..FOR 700 MILES!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
Back when humor was still funny...classic...The Great One ❤😊
I’ve got my young son in the car 😂
He was in his 40s 😂😂
The "son" played linebacker in college, LOL !
😂😂😂the son proceeds to nod lol 😂
Kills me everytime
I have my young son car and I don’t want to hear that kind of language lol

When enough is enough. "Hold it, hold everything! I don't wanna hear that kinda language. I’ve got my young son in the car. 😂" Buford T. Justice.
I'm Thankful for that clip and Movie. Back from my years...that's how my PARENTS talked
“Let me have a Diablo Sandwich and a Dr Pepper and make it fast, I'm in a got-damn hurry.”
Wow!
You can hear him say " F Off!"
I never heard him say that in years til now!😂
I just came on here to see if someone noticed! I've never heard him till now!
Does he say "F off" or "F*** off"?
@@levifout60882It's "Fuck off!"😆
In the movie, it's completely drowned out by the horn, but you can tell by his lips what he said. Feel this video dubbed it in a little.
gleason should have won an academy award in this movie..
The Broderick Crawford reference was hilarious!
He is a dead ringer for him.
It is 😂😂
Old 502
don't forget to watch Ponch when he is starstruck by pulling over Broderick Crawford in the late 70s.
That’s very comforting, BUT I’M IN HIGH SPEED PURSUIT
I hear perfectly...
The g-d d-mn germans got nothing to do with it!
I remember renting this on Betamax back in the very early 80s. This scene, and the perfectly timed truck horn, had me in stitches! 😂😂
RIP Jackie Gleason
0:40 Jackie Gleason was well known to ad lib his lines no doubt this was one of them hence the genuinely shocked look on the officer's face.
This film is brilliant. The Buford T Justice character an absolute legend. I do like films from this era.
Jackie Gleason was a comic genius! The man had a true gift for his art! This has to be one of his greatest performances, Rest in peace Jackie ❤🙏
That's How its Done😅 Great clip. RIP 🙏🏼❤💋😁👏🍾🤣

I'm only 41 and I just stumbled on highway patrol on youtube not long ago. Even though it was waaay before my time I got hooked pretty quickly
He really insulted Junior so many times in the movie. Junior looked exhausted by the end of it. At the end..Daddy wait for me... Who's gonna hold your hat?😂😂😅
Brilliant movie and actors.
Gimmie a diablo sandwich and a Dr. Pepper! I'm in a god damn hurry!!
The way he sounded and looked when he said for 700 miles always made me go nuts laughing
0:43-1:32 that's how you win an academy award ladies and gentlemen even though he didn't win and wasn't nominated
Pure gold! Jackie Gleeson thumping the kid policeman is again pure gold! 😎
This movie is a classic
“To the moon, Alice!”
Looking for for it. Found it. 😅😊
I pretty much know this movie by heart. I wors out the VHS tape back in the days. Good times.
The greatest comedy out time.
I didn't realize that was what was being said because I was too young to see it in 1977...I had only seen it on cable 😅
Just saw this at the theater today. Good times. #flashbackcinemas
The first time I watched this as a kid, I thought they were going to get hit by that truck coming up the street at 0:55 LOL!
😅😅😅😅😅

Buford T. Justice was my favorite comedic villain ever. Jackie Gleason was one of a kind. TO THE MOON ALICE
So good. nd done perfectly by Jackie Gleeson and the other actor.
It's funny to watch this scene just looking at Jr.s face the whole time.
Brilliant acting 👏
This scene made me so laugh 0:56
Buford t justice is not playing he means pure police business 😁
Beautiful acting 😍
Such a great movie. It's just fun.
I’m new into the film. Saw it twice recently. Pretty good. The cussing made it entertaining.
@GabrielMartinez-pe6ln You are right! In the neutered edited-for-tv version, the movie loses all its zip. The odd profanity is what makes it so funny.
Fun Fact: Jackie Gleason is actually 20 years older than Mike Henry (Buford's “young” son)
That's exceptionally believable age range for someone to be a parent.
My dad was 22 and my mom was nearing 19 when they had their firstborn [my late older brother who died tragically some time ago].
So? What's significant about 20 years? It certainly wasn't fun.
Please edit your comment to note that it is Buford's YOUNG son
@@seeemonster lol
Dude this is the best, you you can’t drive that piece of shit on my highway I love it, 😆😆😆😆👋👌👍👍✌️❤️
RIP Mr Gleeson.... comic genius.
My grandfather to a T! Voice and body .
0:06 I love that movie
"Well, I don't care what it is, but you can't drive this piece of shit on my highway!!"😅
Now I am telling you for the last time.
I happen to have my young son in the car and I don't wanna hear that kind of language! 😅
I swear, Mike Henry must have had the hardest job among the whole cast keeping a straight face in front of the legendary Jackie Gleason bringing his A-game to every scene.
THIS IS THEGREATESTMOVIE;INTHEWORLD;ANDIT"S A CLASSIC:❤❤😊😊
Old films are best 👍
Back when directors weren't scared to hurt someone's wittle fewings
Jackie played such a brash character. CA eventually took the man off this earth. Jackie Gleason, RIP.
Jackie definitely went to the moon!
that poor guy his chest must have been sore what with Buford T. Justice pokeing at him the entire time.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Sounds like my dad. 😅
My dad wasn't a cop.
junior don't u ever embarrass ur daddy like that again..classic.
Junior dont u EVER embarrass ur daddy like that again..classic.
A guilty pleasure movie. Jackie Gleason was funny in just about everything.
1:55 mood
1:53 apologies accepted now f off
He doesn't want anyone cursing around Junior and yet, he frequently curses around him.
The sheriff made the movies and only him
My young son lol
Smokey and the bandit is on this weekend
Sheriff Justice done told him a mouthful!!

Best movie ever 😂😂
BTJ was the most Kick-Ass and hilarious cop ever😂 , He absolutely owned the bandit movies❤

Pretty sure the Bandit drove by them at high speed while they were enjoying
themselves.
Jackie Gleason was truly The great One
Isn't this the same trooper who said "You just apprehended my captain." In a later scene?
This is evidence
My young son😂
Is that the same officer who appears at the van where buford arrests another police officer, thinking him to be the bandit?
😂 dont piss off Sheriff Justice
They didn't call Jackie "the great one" for nothing. But I don't remember him being that tall.😊
Orson Wells was the one to give him the moniker “The Great One” of comedy. U know it’s legit if Orson freaking Wells gives you that moniker.
Jackie was about 5'10"
😂😂😂😂
