I really enjoy your guys is videos, I have actually watched this one 3 times. How much horse power does your unit produce. Curious because wondering how much abuse it's going through over something that only has an air intake system, programmer, and exhaust system.
I drive a Honda pioneer and just watched a 17 min long video about belts. you guys are awesome. !! great to see the tech in belts getting so good. I NEED An X-3
First off, good job on your videos, I always enjoy them. I particularly like your evaluations/tests and your efforts to quantify the results. In regards to your belt testing I have several questions and comments. 1. I noticed in a reply to a comment that the ambient temperature during this test was 81 degrees F. What was the ambient temperature in the other tests where you provide belt temps? I have noticed, with a Razorback belt temperature gauge during several dune trips in my 2018 XRC with an OEM belt and no other changes (stock clutch, tires etc) that belt temperatures are definitely a function of ambient temperature. I don't drive as hard as you guys do but when I'm in the sand I need to use the throttle. I wish I could say that my observations are based upon a single variable, ambient air temperature, however, a variety of sand conditions from moist hard pack to dry and fluffy play a large role in how hard the belt needs to work. I also noticed an increase in belt temperatures with a half windshield. 2. I see again in the comments that you had a KWI clutch in this and a previous test. What about earlier tests? 3. Lastly, would it be possible for you collect all of your data in one table that lists the belts you've tested along with test to test variables and the results? Keep up the good work!
@@TheRealRenn, That's what sold me. I can't believe he didn't break 191. I ran a gates belt for a while, which was ok, but noticed a change in shifting. Guy at Hunterworks seems legit, but this GBoost belt looks next level. I almost went with his clutch kit though but ultimately went with Aftermarket Assassins.
only because I'm trying to understand how failure occurs with these belts, I'm guessing heat is the belts biggest enemy? I thought they would break easier when your climbing up rocky terrain or under weight load? I guess I'm just trying to understand how far I can push my new atv.
@@dirtymunoz lol! full throttle offered todd from hunterworks so just send one belt to test and see where it holds. todd declined and said his belt are not for heavily modded machines. that alone says a LOT! but todd keeps saying his belts are the BEST but he wont put his belt where his mouth is.
Is there only one bad ass belt from evolution power sports? As there was one 11months ago on this blog . Was just wondering if they are the same as there are now a few bad ass belts on the market thanks
Belt temp staying lower due to softer compound I guess. Less friction heating it up. Do they make belts for other can am side by sides cuz I need one for my commander lol
WOW...WOW....this is awesome! Wait....??what's this...out of fuel. At this point I thought sweet nascar pitstop...aannnd🤔 nope nothing. I thought FULL THROTTLE meant... Hammer down, pedal to the metal, threading the needle, zinging BB's, hauling ass, delivering intimidation, peeling pavement, ball's to the wall (not to the left)... the break is on the left..you know FULL THROTTLE. LOL I was hoping for a nascar pitstop for fuel, a blown belt, seeing it can do over 15 laps. Either way I love what you guys do enjoy watching your show, As a Gear head I love watching 45 minutes worth or more. Keep up the awesome work.
Dude tell me about it... my foot stayed heavy as sht... the fuel kept getting lower... 50 miles... 60 miles... 80 miles... empty tank - still 180 degrees. Insane
I have a Honda that uses no belt but when I ride with friends every time I have seen a belt get destroyed was on a deep water crossing or things that put a big strain on the belt like rock crawling or crossing downed logs or something. I don't understand how your belts get smoked just driving flat roads at any speed. What am I missing and why do your belts fail so much?
Sounds impressive, but so did the badass belt.... I bought one and it was about the same as a gates gforce but twice the money. I'm currently running my two year old Polaris backup belt that has over 1500 miles on it and has been on and off the machine 5 times and still kicking ass... I'm gonna try out this new one that costs even more and It better work better than Polaris OEM or I'm gonna slap somebody👋
Put a hunter works on my son's 2016 xp1000 that was jerking so bad that when he would pull out he would have to just stab it and go. Hunter works made it nice and smooth. Got 2 seasons on it so far about 500 miles riding amd still great. Mostly trail cruising and hill climbing we don't ride wide open hardly ever
You need to drive no more than 3/4 throttle for 15 mins to get the belt nice and warmed up. Then let it naturally cool down. Then do it again and your good to go. Some people don't even break in belts and have no issues. You might as well just start running your machine the way you want now
Im sure it would help... if it was cooler, the air being sucked into the clutch housing would also be cooler and probably keep the belt cooler, longer. It was around 81 degrees on this day
Let us know when that belt finally goes. Iam sold on it already. luckly you quit because i was drinking a can a lap.Just want to know how long it lasted.

Great video! Question tho. New owner of a can am maverick 1000 turbo. How long of life is a oe belt if you just Cruise around under 60mph and not into it all the time?
Hard to say. With proper warm up and cool down cycles I've seen people who ride casually for 1,500 to 2,000 miles out of a belt. Some people I know have never changed their belt

how many miles do you guys have on your x3's? have either of yours had the front output shaft seal leak and driveline vibration? I just got my x3 xrs about 2 month ago and already have a leak and the driveline vibrates so bad after 55 mph I have to let off. I am very disappointed so far with this machine. This fitment is the same as OEM, most aftermarket belts are designed to fit the car they're made for. If they're not the right length it can mess a lot of stuff up. What kind of belt temp would you see with the OEM belt? And do you think belt temp was ultimately the cause of failure with the OEM? This belt is obviously stronger, but does it build less heat & dissipate it that much better you think?
We didn't have a belt temp gauge when we tested the OEM one... however, we did test it twice on this stretch - once with eqch car - and both times it failed on the return trip down the long straight away. We ran one lap with the original Bad Ass belt, too. And after a single lap, the belt was 224 degrees.
