I'm super proud of Cuddles, the earth starts shaking and she just perks her head up when she could have justifiably freaked out. She must feel very safe!
Wowzer Bizzicat! Thank you for this awesome capture of those moments. I'm so very glad that Cuddles is feeling so loved and secure at KA that she didn't lift a paw to move her kittens! ❤❤
Our cat always freaks out when she feels an earthquake (Eureka, California). she tears to the bedroom and up on the linen shelf behind a curtain. Bless her heart.
Really glad to see that the mamas weren't really bothered much by the quake. All the babies continued doing very important baby things, so all is well. 😍
I live in NJ and my whole place shook and I was like "wtf" and then "was that an earthquake " and immediately asked my phone and found out that Tewksbury NJ had a 4.8 within 2 minutes of it happening. My cat had just settled to cuddle up in my arms and He took off running.
@BizziCat it actually prob bothered me less than alot of people because live less than 3 miles from "Range Road" which is where all the ranges are that they set off explosives and bombs for the megabase so quite used to the house shaking, but you could just tell it was different which is why I immediately looked up earthquake near me on Google and the base actually put up a "wasn't us" post on Facebook. My Dashie was quite skittish for like an hr and then snuggled up again and forgot his worries.
VERY glad the kitties weren't freaked out by it. It's fascinating how different the quakes feel between the east coast and the west. I've been through quite a few in soCal, and this one felt and sounded very different from all of them. You can actually hear them coming before the shaking starts on the east coast! It's no wonder the mamas reacted so early.
This is an experience for me to be able to see a cats reaction to an Earthquake. I truly was concerned about the cats at KA and tried to go to the live cams to see if I could see anything but it seemed pretty normal there but the reaction of the two mom cats was quite interesting and I didn’t hear any meowing so I assumed they were alright but just wondering what on Earth was going on. Thank you for the video Bizzicat. God bless you and KA mom cats and kitties and the Faculty too. Love, Sue M. Florida 🙏❤️🥰😺🌸🌼🤔❌⭕️
Well, i guess I still don't mind living in our cornfield/soybean/wheatfield filled state smattered with some cool cities here in Ohio. Last earthquake felt was back in 1980's on some Missouri fault line or something. Get tornadoes sometimes, but up in the northwest part, not so much. I checked the live too, but went early. Surprised Mr. A didn't say anything about it or noticed.

I live on Long Island. It was a shocker. I played back the live stream from the Academy for that moment. The looks on both moms faces were priceless.
What an incredible day!
Glad it wasnt worse and the kitty moms were there protecting their beautiful babies. Wonder if Mr A felt it?
It's just soo weird how animals reactions get to Earthquake movements, You could tell by Sky and Cuddles they were protecting their babies
I guess there was a quake on the west coast, too, but it got very little notice. It's all in what you're used to!
