No doubt Cuddles was simply a very nervous mama, in fierce protective mode, reacting to being trapped at such a vulnerable moment. I'm not surprised to see her respond so well to Mr A"s loving care.
Two mom cats with four kittens each and a day apart! Thanks for rescuing them and hope the previous classes get adopters fast. And you are a cat angel by helping little Joist feed and gain weight in those crucial first hours. That made the difference.

Callie is probably not liking the scent of Holiday after her spay/vet visit. My old tortie was very close to my big Ragdoll guy but..once a year when I had him shaved for summer at the groomers she was extremely upset and angry towards him for about the first 4-5 days after he came home. I think it was more about the unusal smells he carried back from the groomer and not his appearance . It passed pretty quickly but yeah, there was definitely some upset for a few days.

So interestingly, the, gene that causes the bobbed tail in Manx Cats and the gene that causes it in Japanese bobtail cats are not the same, and in fact Japanese Bobtails are healthier. While the Manx gene is linked to skeletal disorders, which is why breeding them can be controversial (and why you cannot/shouldn't breed two tailless Manx together), the Bobbed Tail gene IS NOT.
So gladd to see that Cuddles has settled in greatly with her babies. noticed she don't want them in the bedding area, she wants them where there's more room for them to move around and her to stretch out now that she feels safe
I know official Manxes sometimes have nerve defects due to the genes that shorten the tail. I know this kittens are not known but if it's a common pair of defects, then it'll probably show up together In The Wild, so to speak.
The cardiologist decided to postpone Teaspoon's surgery again, until August this time. They're hoping he might get a little bigger and make the surgery easier! He's doing just fine for now.

Cuddles probably takes Hot Chocolate first because HC is very likely the one that is strongest/healthiest in her mind. So she takes HC moves HC first because she is the most likely to survive. Of course that is meaningless now that she is at the Academy, but well, instincts are strong.
There was a kitten named Champagne in the Fancy Feasters. There was also an older kitten named Cashew that came in as a possible momcat a few years ago. She ended up not being pregnant and was integrated into the Cat Trees.
