At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

Mahidevran was disrespectful towards everyone how can she slap her attendant who was loyal with her...She Thought of herself above everyone..she was respectful only towards Royal family member for her own benefit ofcourse
She was extremely arrogant but I think she was furious in this episode because she couldn’t get laid with the Sultan.
In the show, Mahidevran was similar in character to Nurbanu, as both were arrogant and cold toward most people, but she lacked Nurbanu's cunningness.
Mahidevran's prayer was never answered because her heart is not pure

Mahidevran should have stayed in Manisa. She was dumped by Suleyman, dazzled by all the available females in the big city of his palace, especially the scheming redhead.
Why having 1 prince had to be joke?
In fact it was more easier for the sultanas and hatuns who had 1 son than the ones who had more sons.
It was difficult for Hurrem,Safiye,Handan,Halime,Mahfiruze,Kosem,Ayse(Haseki of Murad IV),Turhan,Dilashub,Muazzez,Gulnush and Rabia(Haseki of Ahmed II).
The best example can be seen in Kosem's case.
Kosem couldn't persuade Murad due to his trauma and paranoia and he executed 2 of his halfbrothers and 1 full blooded brother(first and only known case),but Kosem was able to save Ibrahim's life pointing his mentally unstable state as excuse that he will not pose threat to Murad's reign who wanted to return the fratricide law back and restore the empire as it was before Suleiman I's time.The other sultanas had lost their other sons due to diseases or in infant mortality or their first son being executed(in Halime's case),or some were not alive when their sons were executed(like Hurrem and Mahfiruze),so it's questionable if they will have managed to remain their other sons alive.But it can depend on the sultan's personality too as Turhan had forbidden her son to execute his halfbrothers and protected them until her death.
If you have 1 prince. It means you only have ONE opportunity for the throne, if that prince dies under any circumstances it's over. If Hürrem only had Mehmet, all her aspirations would be dead with him.
I never understood why it was ok for Mahidevran to have multiple kids but no one else could? Either way it would be competition for the throne. The kids were born to secure their own placement, I would be sad or hoping for a girl every time I got pregnant just because the all the male siblings will be killed full blood sibling or not.
This should have worried Hurrem,she had many boys
