  • www.jakewilson.... Having the throttle cables on your Harley Davdison properly adjusted is important. It allows your bike to idle properly and allows you to smoothly and easily control the throttle position on your motorcycle. This video demonstrates how to inspect your throttle cables and also how to adjust the throttle cables and finally set the correct amount of freeplay. These same steps can be used to adjust throttle cables on any model of Harley Davidson equipped with the dual cables throttle setup. For throttle cables and all the other parts and accessories we carry for your motorcycle visit our website www.jakewilson.com!

Simple clear instructions. And to the point without 5 minutes of blabbing before the actual tutorial. Thanks for making this!

+John Tuups No. Friggin. Shit. Right? That's total BS that a certain channel that rhymes with Fix My Hog charges to help people. Really bummed out about that. Good video here!

I don't even ride a harley but this is THE BEST video on throttle cable adjustment on youtube. Every other video neglects to mention how to adjust the return cable, they only focus on freeplay of the throttle cable. I was so worried about adjusting it, now.....cake. Good job guys.

Clean, consist and to the point. Very helpful. However, some advise to sound more professional, minimize using the word "you."

After finishing installing a CV carb, which replaced a Mikuni carb on m y 2000 Springer, I noted that I could not adjust the return cable. I loosed the lock nut, but when I attempted to turn the adjusting nut, it did not want to turn and wanted to twist, along with the cable. What could be causing this? There should not be a kink in the cable, since I did not remove it from the bike.

Maybe you can give me some advice on adjusting the throttle on a 2000 Yamaha 650 V-Star. It has dual cables with the return cable unable for adjustments by the throttle housing. The throttle cable being the only cable with the ability to be adjusted at the housing. Should I follow your directions in this video until the return cable adjustment? Is this considered a fixed cable?

Great video! Installed Kuryakyn grips and had a major problem with it not snapping back closed. A big part of my problem was that the cables were put behind the windshield when I reinstalled it. Should have been in front of it but this video was a major lifesaver regardless

I've followed the steps but I'm still not getting a full snap back. I can see the butterfly almost closing but not fully. Any suggestions please

Ok, I’ll try to keep this short. On my 2009 super glide custom, my throttle is sticking open. The last time I rode her everything was fine. It’s been about a month since I’ve rode her last. I went to ride this weekend and the throttle was sticking open. Does anyone have an idea as to why this is happening? I’ve tried lubeing the cables, and I’ve made sure the little knob on the under side of the housing is open. Nothing is working. I need help!

Secora Villan sounds like it may be the cable(s) have developed enough crud that normal lube process may not be enough. ?? Just a thought. I had a slightly pinched (don’t ask how, I would have to lie 🙄) idle cable some years back. Thought it was in need of lube, thought wrong 😆 I know this is a few months old, but wanted to post in case others have same issue. Ride safe 👍🇺🇸
