I think the upper front driveshaft together with bevel gear slams into drive gear when you jump because chassis is too flexible, I know there are braces to 3d print do you think that would help?
Or I could learn to control my landing properly to land flat on the ground. But yeah I have since printed up a brace and installed it. Much less flex now. thanks
Making the most out of an unfortunate situation brother, great to see Makerfire has great customer service to replace the part that broke on this RC. I can see your diff definitely had more grease applied inside then both of mine did, the gasket on mine was dry and there was only some grease in the middle. WLtoys were slack for not properly greasing all the gears throughout in the factory as a lot of new owners now have shown this in facebook groups etc. Thanks for sharing Micko, at least you can mess around with it as a rear wheel drive until your parts arrive 👍🍻🇦🇺
Thanks brother! I finally got over it. Lol! Yeah, I noticed others' diffs like yours had a lot less grease then mine. But yeah.. slacks buggers over there! It's my first RWD car, haha.. It's a lot of fun too! cheers Dave 🍻🇦🇺
Thanks for the video. I think it's just a quality control problem. Sometimes with wltoys, the parts are just bad quality. Sometimes you get lucky. I greased my diffs and bevel gears before running the car and the bevel gear going to the rear differential shredded it's teeth after only a few minutes of driving. No jumps or bashing of any kind.
It did that because you're holding the throttle when the car lands. There is no buffer on these cars. I don't do that even on my cars that have a slipper clutch. Btw, those parts you looked up are based off of Vaterra Twin Hammers. One of the best rc cars made. Not sure why you would assume the year of production had anything to do with quality.
Hmm...ill have to find a way to install a slipper when I get the brushless setup I ordered... im planning on converting it pretty early...and it looks like a slipper might be mandatory.
Yeah, I decided not to preorder the car until I see all the issues it has. Concerning slipper, I'd suggest Tomley RC channel. He knows what he's talking about and he mentioned he'd do a comparison between this car and the LC model it's based on. If i remember correctly, he also mentioned trying to fit a slipper on this car.

Just shredded my bevel gear on the 3rd or 4th run. I was jumping it pretty hard though on some bmx jumps. My 124019 has been dead reliable so I'm assuming this is a unlucky break. New bevel gear is going to take a few weeks which is a bummer...
Where do you buy more of those plastic 12mm wheels nuts, I did a search on banggood and could not find a match. 2 of mine are stuck inside the wheels and I would have to damage it to remove them. Thanks
I get mine from aliexpress or ebay. They're metal too. Make sure to get ones with a 5mm hole. Otherwise you can get ones with a smaller hole and then make the hole bigger with a 5mm drill bit. That's what I did with spares I have originally intended for my 144001 and 124018/019.

@@fastfreddy7111 yes I do I'd have to say if both covers are off and you still can't get it out you might have to pull a diff out to remove the drive shift to reduce the amount of pressure on either side it's around 6 reg screws then two Allen nub screws on wither side of the drive shift watch your bevel gear when reinstalling to make sure you it's not binding or flat out missing when you put it back together but with the driveshaft uninstalled it should free it up a bit or maybe go to the bottom and losses the center gear mounts see if that frees it up it should just pull strait up and out tho with or without the driveshafts installed
Trashed my front bevel gear on only the 2nd time I took the car out, and then the rear on lost its teeth after the 4th or 5th outing. Perhaps very poor quality gears with absolutley no grease. Replaced them (with part no K949-43) and all's good...and it seems a LOT quieter too, or perhaps that's just the grease smoothign things up. Fun car, though!
Nice video and thanks for your honest to goodness assessment. WLToys should change their labeling from RTR to ARTR. Well, at least their definition of 'almost ready to run' -- not that you need your own battery but you have to grease the diffs first before you run your RC. 😄
You're welcome bro. Thanks for that. I do like to share my first run experiences with my viewers so that we all learn from them I believe it's wltoys' intention that it's RTR but they're being lazy and not greasing diffs. It's really getting annoyong. Hopefullly they watch YT videos and read our complaints and take action. Cheers brother!
Thanks for dropping by and watching. I guess if you drive it carefully you should have no issues. Some people tell me it's because I'm holding the throttle while landing. I usually do release when landing, but this car seemed to nosedive often therefore I was attempting to prevent nosedives. Oh well! Hopefully it's just my car or just me, for the sake of other owners. 😀
What a bummer bro, that's kind of why I didn't buy that truggy because it's just cheap cheap parts. Anyway good luck on getting quality parts brother and two wheel drives not so bad.

😄 They probably used a old batch of parts just sitting in a warehouse exposed to all the tropical elements over there. Lol 😆 Fortunately I have a couple of spare sets of 12mm metal hexes. Holes were too small so I made them bigger using a 5mm drill bit and now they fit over the axles.
@@MickoRC thats sweet lol and yeah all that moistsure in the air made them go funny..and your right its old stock as my 124019 came with 144001 sticker inside the transmitter tray and the same on a k989 the transmitter sicker was a L898 or something lol
🤯brushed motor and striped the bevel gear? I striped mine on the rear after brushless conversion and installation of traxxas slash wheels. I guess I've got what I've paid for
Same thing happened to mine except in the rear, on the first run almost instantly. They are setup way to tight sometimes, with no grease, and powdered metal gear. I can't believe they sell them like this, how pathetic. The replacement gears for sell are better quality then original, they are machined not powdered metal. So buy those, then make sure its got good mesh, use shims if need be and grease it up.
