Unfortunate and sad. I was on my third comeback and got deathly ill. Went all in on a spec home. Boeing laid off over 65 thousand people and the housing market died. I lost $250K. Tried getting back on my feet and a virus tried to kill me. Chemo killed the virus but left me less than. I now live on $1639.00 a month minus medicare. I was making more than that in a week. You still have your health and a life mate that's working. You have a great deal of drive. I admire that. Another door will open.
Most of all NEVER GIVE UP.

I am truly blessed, can't complain. I am debt-free and so far my cat Alger is still with me, he's very old, but he and I are crazy about each other.

Shame about your battery project. If you were dealing with the company directly this might not have happened, marketing companies tend to lie to both sides to some extent. I've got the same problem, need thousands of dollars in batteries, but no real idea of where/how to get them cheap enough.
Battery companies don't recommend soldering to their batteries, that could be what killed your project.

I did a vlog when I was in undergraduate and I had a similar way of not scripting it, I didn't have a driving goal or theme, but you do! I really like you're channel and what you are doing! You have had an impact on my of grid solar/ lithium battery power that I am slowly switching to. Your electric vehicle project also has me looking into making my own electric vehicle.
You are doing awesome on your vlogs. Don't switch to a scripted or teleprompted vlogging. It's no good. your current unscripted, spontaneous format is what most u tubers like. Speak from your heart and not from a script.

As someone who loves to work on electronics, electrical and such. I will be happy in that field. Spent 10 years as a slot technician and did it very well. Just visited the casino earlier today and a lot of people want me to come back. I much rather work on EVs and such... so if EV West is looking for some help... give me a ring. Have you heard of the Linus Tech Tips channel? They seem to have dominated this business model with advertisements and sponsored projects on all 3 channels they have. You should talk to Linus and ask for some consultancy, maybe in exchange for a collab project (Taran, the editor, makes some video reviews of electric bikes).

Linus has a lot of fun, He might be silly but he knows what he is doing. Maybe if you tried to collaborate with him making battery packs for the tech he presents that would be great. I would be interested in a portable power source for a mini PC to be portable, I have a SUV so battery space would be great. If I could somehow also use it as a backup jump starter,phone charger that would be phenomenal.

I know others have said this but man who cares if you consider yourself a hack, the way you do your videos is the reason so many people watch them in my opinion. Dont change anything man. Please keep doing what your doing. And never give up cause you are a huge inspiration to so many people.
Some people think of me as a hack in a derogatory way, I embrace the term because a hack problem solves in an unconventional way. Some of the most successful people in this world are hacks

Make a website selling genuine 18650 in small to medium quantities. Find the holy source of lg, Samsung, Panasonic and buy a lot cheap.

I have worked with a lot of agencies, and unfortunately this kind of thing happens all the time man. It sucks you got burned. When dealing with them, sadly you have to filter whatever they tell you, and know that nothing is a done deal until the $$ is in the bank. Agencies today have little to no leverage with their clients, so they may mean well but the client can impulsively decide to go in another direction and they have no recourse. They in turn burn the vendors, and so it goes down the chain.
Jehu: you have more presentation and editing skill than you give yourself credit for. Love your videos and would be absolutely jazzed to head to your area to throw my hands on soldering or other tasks... maybe you should coordinate a UA-cam EV build! Your fans are IN!
