Hudson 's Bay Company... Boston Tea Party in the US the beginning of the American Revolution around that time? And...it was not far away. I am Scottish background and from New France descent. Looking forward to seeing the show.

No, The Hudson's Bay Company was established in 1670. Long before there was a United States of America. Hudson Bay map makers went across the continent mapping and exploring into the west to establish the fur trade and open up the country for England. I'm puzzled the British know nothing of this.

As a fellow Millican (but American) I’m SO curious how similar our lineage is

This is coincidentally where my ancestors are from, I recently discovered. Heaps of Fletts + Fletchers right back to the 1400's...and even further. Surreal to think that I have loads of relatives(unknown to me) there!💚

I live in New Zealand and know little of Canadian history, Sorry! I was amazed to find a single line unbroken in area it seems til my great grandfather for whatever reason came here. I knew my father came from Newcastle, England, my maternal grandfather from Bury, Lancashire so I expected a mix of people...great grandmother from County Cork, Ireland😊 It's fascinating but what I was shocked about was that long unbroken line of Fletts all from the same area til my great grandfather came halfway around the world! What pluck! I'm finding family history Very interesting!😊😁

Being a Canadian I'm surprised she has not heard of the Hudson Bay Company. It's over 300 years old and a British Co. I guess they don't study Canada much in school.

@Nicky L I'm UK too. I didn't stop learning when I left school. Knowledge should keep growing.

I've only heard about it from antique pickers based in Canada. Not relevant to most Australians.

I always think it’s funny when people say they’re amazed they have ancestors from way back. Well…. I’m pretty sure we all have ancestors from the beginning of the beginning or we wouldn’t be here. Unless we were dropped here from a space ship. But then we would have ancestors on another planet. 🙂. I think they mean they are surprised to find out who they are but it always sounds funny when they say it like they are surprised they have ancestors.
