    You are absolutely the best teacher on UA-cam. You are very precise and detailed in your instructions. Best of all, the piece you are working on is always in frame. As a beginning beader it so frustrating to hear instructions but not see what is being done because the work is out of frame. I also notice that you reply to every comment. I don't see that very often either. Thanks so much for being so good.

      +Kathy Boynton Hi Kathy,thanks for the nice compliments. I do try to stay in frame. There are times i am not in frame but its all a learning experience. I see what i did wrong, then i try not to do that again.

    This is just beautiful and I love that you always give cheaper alternatives for the beads, and you just use regular beads. Some videos use every new bead that comes alone and I'm left looking longingly at their creations and not being able to get the beads I need!

    • @GinasGemCreations
      @GinasGemCreations  8 років тому +2

      Hi Anne, I like the new beads too, I will do a few tutorials here and there with them, but, I prefer to use my huge stash of the traditional type beads. I know there are lots of people who want to do the same. I also do not believe that only certain brands and types are worth using. I like to make an assortment of pieces with different levels of beads. Some people prefer to buy pieces that are pretty but they won't go broke buying it. You can offer these pieces to them and make a sale almost every time. I love the high end beads but I love cheaper ones too. It's all in the quality of craftsmanship and creativity that make a difference in your quality of pieces, not so much the beads. It's very limiting to only use expensive beads. It also narrows your selection of pretty things to work with. 👍🏻😜😀🌹

    April, cannot reply to your comment. Check your settings and adjust to allow responses. Anyway, I have only tried ten pound so far because when I went shopping I wasn't sure what to buy. I hadn't tried it, but I knew the diameter was smaller than Fireline, I figure 10 pound would be like 8lb in Fireline and it is close. But I think when I go to the sporting goods store again I will pick up a few other sizes to experiment with. It is better to work with than Fireline, I like it.

    • @marleybee9930
      @marleybee9930 8 років тому

      I apologize. I will have a look and see what I need to adjust in the settings on my tablet to fix that. Thank you for the info. I was looking at the Nanofil at Walmart and really liked the feel of it. Good to know that it is better to work with and look forward to your comments with regard to the other sizes. Take care!

      Hi Jane, I just grab a bunch of beads and play until something comes out. But, I have had difficulty finding time lately, so I made a few of patterns I designed a while ago but never used. Makes it easier, that's why they are coming so fast...LOL, I cheated.😜

    Really beautiful! I did not quite understand what you meant near the end about the half hitch knots. I saw the first one but after that? You go down the entire one side and ...? Sorry it was all great to follow until then I cannot picture what you mean. I guess I am asking how far down for the half hitch knots at the end of making the bracelet. Thanks!

    • @GinasGemCreations
      @GinasGemCreations  7 років тому +1

      You can sew through tying as many knots as you would like. It's not something you have to do exactly the same as I do it. Just make sure your weave is secure then cut off your thread.

    • @GinasGemCreations
      @GinasGemCreations  7 років тому

      Hi Bron, you leave a little extra thread after knotting and use a lighter to burn it into a little blob that acts like another knot to keep the thread from slipping back into the beads. It only works with fireline or Nanofil.

    • @bronwebb8956
      @bronwebb8956 7 років тому

      thanks for the explanation. Ive done my beading with Nymo D as that is what I had handy and it seems ok but maybe not as strong as what you used -dont know if its available in Australia.Love your pattern xx

    Hi Gina, I see that you are now using Nanofil. Is it as easy to use as the regular Fireline? I know that it is a mono fishing line as I went out to Amazon to find out more about it. Are you using it now due to usefulness of the thread because it doesn't knot as easily or due to cost of more bang for your buck? I see on Amazon that it is available in different colors and weight. You indicated 10lb in the description but what color would you recommend? I know it might seem as though these are silly questions! Just want to invest in the right stuff. As always it's a beautiful project you never make anything else. Hope you are doing well and I send my best to you and yours. Cheers from Indy. Thanks Gina! 😀 Barb

    • @GinasGemCreations
      @GinasGemCreations  8 років тому +1

      Hi Barb, I do like the nano...They call it unifilement, whatever that means😜 but it feels like a very smooth, strong thread. It works just like Firline, but, it frays less. I have only tried the 10lb, as it is smaller in diameter at the same weight in Fireline. I have the color "Clear Mist" I honestly do not know all the colors and sizes available yet. I bought mine at a sporting goods store. I am however, going to check into it further. I like it a lot!🌹

    So I used the double thread on your southwestern bracelet and now I know why I don’t see it used very often lol. It’s...very interesting trying to keep it from getting tangled. Possible but probably the same amount of work goes into keeping it untangled as it would to just go around it twice. Just wasn’t sure if you’d tried it is all.

  • @minamiles3313
    @minamiles3313 6 років тому

    So as usual your tutorials are wonderful and the project is beautiful. Out of curiosity since I noticed that you generally always go through units more than once which is awesome but have you considered setting your thread up so that it’s folded in half that way every pass is like two passes. Seems it would be faster but I’m still new so just thought I’d ask you. Thank you!

    • @GinasGemCreations
      @GinasGemCreations  6 років тому

      I don’t know how well that would work, honestly. I have always used it single. It’s worth a try.
