Digital Nomad Girl I suggest that your sentiment comes from a good place, just as I was appalled at the video of George Floyd and wholeheartedly agree that the officers involved should be investigated and further, that police reform would likely be a good idea.
However, there is then a point at which I absolutely don’t condone statues being ripped down, lawlessness, graffiti on the cenotaph, and Churchill’s statue and calls for Nelson’s Column to be next, that is the basis for my original comment.
At first glance all looks ok, but then sit and think about it, actually ‘all lives matter’ and it’s not just about skin colour. What many people don’t realise, is that getting the response wrong is just as easy as getting it right.

I think you can support ending racism without needing to support the actions of every individual - e.g. statues or graffiti. My goal is that we treat black and white people equally in our society. I agree all lives matter and that is why I think black lives matter and they haven't been treated that way so far.
Digital Nomad Girl yes and no. 100% agree with your sentiment and intentions. Equality, yes. Everyone’s rights respected, absolutely. But there are HUGE questions as to the BLM movement, those behind it, and intentions. I am no expert, but I take very seriously when educated and informed black men speak out against BLM. I posted two links to videos. Worth watching to get a wider perspective.

Support your black friends, not a political movement. Treat everyone the same and interject when you see inequity and violence. Actually do it. I stopped a black mother from beating her kid at a bus stop, and the other people there [black] appreciated my action. We are all human, and everyone in every culture for the last 5000 years is the same. Don't give up your agency to a political movement. Would you support a corporation on promises if they had a history of violating your trust?
I agree. This should be a cross-party movement and above politics. But voting is the only way to see widespread change. I choose to support Black individuals, AND to use my vote when the time comes. For me this is not a political video but a human one.

Black lives matter is about racist white people thinking they're being good people by saying black lives matter. Hello, that's so obvious that it's rude to say it.
Also they're just a Marxist organization, they do not actually do anything to help actual black families.
I find people who support BLM usually don't give two cents about black people when it comes down to it, they just think black people are stupid and need their help. They think black folks can't get anything without white Democrats.
Which is why I stopped being a democrat. Because I do care about black families.

Here is some African American you tubers that you can support that was not mentioned. BCM ( Black American Patriot ) Kevin’s corner, Kevin Logan Crum Amazing Lucas and The Officer Tatum . Office Tatum was a police officer before he became a you tuber.
If you're willing I'd actually be really interested to discuss this! The main criticism so far of this video is that it's "liberal" but I think caring about equality and black lives doesn't have to be anti-conservative. If anything defunding the police could actually support conservative priorities because it might reduce the tax payer burden! To me conservative policies are about individualism and freedom, whereas liberal values are more about systematised fairness and redistribution. So neither of those seem to be racist to me - I think both parties can be anti racist and still serve their original values. I believe you could vote conservative without being racist. What do you think?
Digital Nomad Girl I have to go to work. I notice BLM is not. When I go to work I will be driving by our hard working police dept keeping my community safe and be thankful for it. When I vote, I will use my brain which is open and informed.
I definitely agree the police are hardworking - overworked in fact! I have several friends who are police and I know it's a tough job. I think the entire systems needs to be changed so it is better for police and better for the public. And we need to reform systems which are unrelated to the police - like school curriculums and corporate hiring practises. For me this is not an anti police stance by any means :)
I should temper my comment with the fact that I think the young lady posting this is a lovely and considerate person. My comment was for the media build up that takes advantage of our better natures which they study and include in their planning. They've been doing it a long time and they're good at it. If you doubt me, just go into any US Elementary School and witness the social programming for yourself. Every bulletin board is loaded with the stuff.

I think we can all take daily actions to improve the equality between races without it needing to be political. I do think voting is powerful and the best way to make long term system wide change, but I don't think ending racism has to be only politics. I hope you'll join me in trying to improve the lives of black people in our countries, regardless of political leanings.

I also believe it’s the “older generation” of people that are the most racists. I am sorry if this offends anyone; however, I have experienced racism mostly by people who are from the baby boomer generation and older. I see the Gen X, Millennials, and younger generations being more accepting of the black culture. This is a good thing.
