The Dark Rock Slim is awesome. My 5600x's temperature is always super low, and I haven't heard the cooler once. Looks pretty nice as well in my opinion, and all of this for around 50 €. Perfect.
This is a great quality video! I love when youtubers film videos in smooth and crisp 4k60fps. This coolers looks great and I am considering this one for my 5700x. I know you said that we should consider a class up for the 5700x, but the 5700x has a 65 watt tdp and is pretty efficient for an 8 core chip. The 5800x on the other hand pulls more power and gets hotter
I'm using it with a 5800x getting around 80 degrees which is fine for me cause the cpu is notorious for getting really hot and it's still not in a problematic range
I got a dark rock pro 4 and is overkill for a 5700x, keeps it at 52c after 10mins cinebench while totally silent at like 35% fan speed, got a dark rock slim for a 3700x which consumes slightly more power and it keeps it at 60c while still silent at around 55% fan speed, this is a beast for it's size
I love mine. I used to have an NH-D14 which is a massive cooler, but I was getting sick and tired of it's massive size. This one is ultra quiet, cools fantastic, looks great and I can actually see the top of my motherboard now :p Dust accumulation is extremely visible though because the whole thing is black, but when its good weather outside I'll use my compucleaner duster. Oh and the installation was super easy. Noctua installation is better though, but this is a close 2nd imho.
@@chasethefeel CPU's these days are smart, so they'll basically overclock themselves and stay within thermal limits. The Slim cooler has an impressive 180w tdp cooling capacity, which is plenty - Even for overclockers if those still exists.
used it for my 3700x, 5900x, 5800x3d and now for my 7800x3d. its amazing small and silent. its just struggling a little bit when allcore boosts at 100%. but by reducing the ppt and setting curve optimizer it is still great. for gaming this cooler is enough for any cpu.
Did you undervolt your cpu for this cooler or just changed the fan curve in bios? And how was it under the 5800x3d? I'm using the 5700x3d and it's pretty cool idle and while gaming (rarely cracks 75C and above)
I'm hoping this will be ok for an i7-13700K. I don't want to use liquid cooling and most air coolers weigh about 1kg! I really don't want to risk my motherboard bending and potentially cracking under all that extra weight.

No, absolutely not. The Freezer 34 d outperforms this one. If you want to get above a Freezer 34 you need to look at the top lines, NH-D15, U12A, or AIOs. Silent Loop 360 would be a good example. Or just wait a bit. I'm quite certain that be quiet! will release new things when the Silent Wings 4's drop.

just calibrate your tdp to the cooler.

I think I would go for the Silent Wings 4 ... Would you recommend a combination with the Pure Rock 2 or the Dark Rock Slim on a 13400f? 😎

I wonder how awesome this cooler would be with a Silent Wings 4 fan.

Do you think that this is good for a ryzen 9 5950x, stock and no overclocking
it can. but youll have to reduce the ppt, to reduce the cpu heat, and optimize the co for allcore boost.
