Saw this four times at the cinema, not because I liked it, but because there was a heatwave and cineworld had air conditioning.

Sandra Hess was actually rocking! That was the only good thing about MK II.
I think the original Sonya was hotter (Billy Madison's teacher).

I thought Sandra Hess was hotter, she had a sweet tan and Bridgette Wilson's skin was all pale like my babysitter.
what u think about the fighting scenes... I didn't have a problem with the other characters being in the movie but some of the fighting scene was kinda wack I thought night wolf n Lui was gonna go at it that would've being epic
I totally agree , I remember I was very disappointed because she wasn't on the movie and I was like 13 at the time , didn't understood why they change it, maybe because of the martial arts skills

When I first watched this movie as a child I attributed the poor visual quality to the fact that maybe the VHS tape was rewritten too many times or too damaged... but now I see

The reason Christopher Lambert didn't do MKA Was because he didn't like the script. So he won't do pretty much anything ;)
I interviewed him this year and he told me he passed on MKA because it wasn't true to the game story.
That's odd because in my limited Mortal Kombat knowledge, it broadly has the same story as MK3, doesn't it? Once you strip out the brother revelation and the dumb animality nonsense. I wish there were some candid behind the scenes documentary on the bluray because I bet something went down over the production. It's obvious that the film didn't have enough money amongst other problems.

The original was fucking amazing! I watch it so many times! I've only seen Annihilatio once, when I was in 2nd grade lol

I watched this film 2 years ago and about 1 year later I watched it again and I thought it was awesome
I agree, the soundtrack is awesome
I was pissed how shitty this one came out to be, the ending of the first movie got me pumped to see Shao Kahn and i thought we finally got a good video game movie for once.
Well, in all fairness, Brian Thompson is not a good actor.
Couldn't agree more with Garys point about cgi and how it's use should be seamless and used to enhance the practical effects, not replace them. Even today there's still far too many cases of bad cgi in big Hollywood blockbusters

All of he main character ninjas have really shitty cheap-looking outfits, too! I get that Sub-Zero explains he's the younger brother of the one from the first movie, but there's no explanation for the new Scorpion…
I, personally, prefer the Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Reptile outfits from the first film. The block look of the tabards, in this film, and the cardboard-looking face masks are mind-numbingly shit!
Unabashed Geekette just assumed the new Scorpion was of the same tribe of people of the original.

Did anyone ever see Mortal Kombat Conquest in the 90's? I used to absolutely love that show as a kid. That would make a great review for this channel as I'm sure it doesn't hold up well today :(

you know why we say it's the best adaptation is, it's an adaptation of the game there's a tournament there's a bunch of dumb stuff and the martial arts fights are frequent and competent, well done, it's not a greaaaat movie which is why they usually screw video game adapts up by shoveling too much in, but the first one just /is the video game/the movie

Well, apparently NRS agreed with the lore being a pain in the ass to follow, considering MK9 kicked all the past games aside and reset everything.
Also, this movie is really not great. The acting falls pretty flat, even from good actors like James Remar. They really had nothing to work with, script or direction. It's pretty obvious the studio just wanted this as a cash grab, and a LOT of the passion and care from the first movie is just gone.
I watched mortal Kombat 4 times in 3 weeks. I saw this once. Enough said. It doesn't look nearly as good. They killed my favorite character johnny cage in the first 5 minutes. That put me off right away.
Did Shao Kahn, just stole the Undertaker's promo including the iconic catchphrase "Rest in Peace?
I didn't mind they recasted Bridgette Wilson, she was kinda bland and uninteresting. Now Sandra Hess is a beauty!
This movie apart from the soundtrack is dog shit.
And I love it. I miss the 90s.

I have to side with Iain on this one, if you're a Mortal Kombat fan, you have to put yourself through the shit. Especially as he said after that cliffhanger in part 1, I have to continue on.

Second mortal kombat film was terrible.
I thought even the catfight was a bit disappointing, a lack of scratching, hair pulling and clothes being ripped off.
Will we ever see the front of Iain's baseball hat?
I almost died from lack of oxygen laughing so hard when you guys were talking about Baraka's mask.😂
I always liked baraka in the games because he had swords for hands they made him a joke in the movie

Not sure if you are aware but Tony Jaa was actually Robin Shou's double for the more impressive moves in this film. On a side note Jade can seduce me any time she wants...

Saw it in theaters and I was about 7, even back then the special cgi effects looked awful, but I was so young and seeing all those MK characters had me geeking out lol.
Here's hoping the 2021 reboot does this franchise justice

Ian loves the mud fight in MKA. Remember he haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaates Dead Rising Watchtower. =D I don't think Gary was that forgiving -- painful to watch and one to avoid. About the only good thing he said was the music.
Shame Talisa Soto never get involved in the mud wrestling though

I still think its better than the recent MK to be honest
I actually liked some fights and parts of this shit fest. I remember pointing out how Sindel went from a purple to blue outfit when you first see her, like within 2 seconds of screen time.
This is the greatest comedy of all time, I dare you to watch this high🤣🤣🤣
