FOUND: The Lost Pyramids of Lake Moeris in Egypt | Ancient Architects

- Whilst many still survive into the 21st century, there is real physical evidence for a number of lost pyramids of Egypt and for those that haven’t left an obvious imprint in the sand, there are numerous historic accounts.
Danish Navel captain Frederic Norden attested to a 4th pyramid on the Giza plateau whilst Herodotus documented two others, both of which, according to him, were comparable in size to the Great Pyramid.
These pyramids, he records, were situated in the centre of the ancient Lake Moeris, which was fed by the River Nile by an ancient canal, widened and deepened by Amenemhat III in the 1800s BC. But who built the pyramids - was it a pre-dynastic king named Moeris, was it the first pharaoh of Egypt, Menes, or was it the 12th dynasty pharaoh, Amenemhat III? And where are they today?

Amazing as always! Thanks! Did found an interesting video related to this: ua-cam.com/video/sD_1FAkvd-k/v-deo.html
It would be important to remember that if this lake was being filled annually by the Nile then it would be expected that a large volume of sediment would have flowed into the lakes too greatly rasing the ground level of the lake bottom.
The pedestals of Biahmu are not the pyramids of Lake Moeris. Some believe they are, which does not make it so. I have read Herodotus' description of Hawara and of the pyramids in the middle of the lake. He did not look at them from a distance. He was actually allowed to visit most of Hawara, which according to him it was much more impressive than the Giza pyramids. Hawara was destroyed somewhere between Herodotus' visit and the time Petri inspected the site. No one knows who did it, or how was destroyed. No one is also allowed to inspect the underground that has survived destruction.
Moeris... Moesis, Moses
One note at what you said around 12:45 - "surely a pump would be needed" (to get the water 80 km from the lake to Giza). Roman aqueducts worked on gravity alone, and they were nearly as long (Aqua Claudia was 69 km long). Several Roman writers say they learned some of their tech from the Egyptians. Just some thoughts to consider - really enjoy your videos - thanks! And as always, thanks for providing links to the source materials - I wish everyone would do that!

The Google earth image of the site shows what is currently visible, but likely the pyramids base is buried by thousands of years of silt. The site is worth a thorough investigation.

A quick google search shows as much as 20m of sedimentation, and that sedimentation would have been higher closer to the inlet.
This makes me wonder again, how can such pyramids be buried so deep. Someone should dig to solve this ! Awesome video as always 👌

As long as Zahi Hawas is alive, these will never be excavated as it would throw the accepted Egyptian chronology out and show more ancient people responsible for the great structures the Egyptians "inherited" and now claim as their own construction.
Look, I'll agree that Zahi Hawas is no open book when it comes to Egyptology and the acceptable dogma. But you're really not thinking about this clearly. Egypt is a dangerous place. On top of that, most of these dig sites are in the middle of nowhere, and digging is expensive. Then you add into that as well that the state religion is Islam, and there's probably a lot of people who don't give two shits about preserving a culture they don't identify with, and would rather ransack that history in hopes of feeding their families.
We can't just go in there and dig. Very few people can. Even if you took Zahi Hawas out of the picture. The window we have into the real grandeur dug up in the area comes from a time when the British were an occupying force basically doing whatever the hell they wanted. You couldn't do in today's world.
That being said, I'm with you that I wish they COULD just go all out and start moving the desert! There's probably an incredible underworld of ancient history waiting just underneath it.
Every night me and my mother make some bad black magic on his name.
I thought Hawas was no longer the head of antiquities...
@@asarand He's not but he still has an outsized role in Egypt as he's still considered "the foremost expert" and the new guy defers most projects to him.

Your research and theory’s make this my favorite channel hands down!!!!
Matt - you just keep giving. Thanks as always.
This is why i think the Sphinx's enclosure was actually a giant pool of water as well and i feel like that the Ancient Egyptians really liked the design of architecture being surrounded by water.
Wouldn't suprise me as they were that fricken cool
I think this is very plausible, perhaps there were potability issues with the Nile water after it had flowed North through the major cities, part of a bypass system to Giza?
Glad you’re back in Ancient Egypt: my favorite videos from your channel.

Thanks, Matt! I've long wondered what the deal was with Lake Moeris and those pyramids, and your proposal seems very reasonable. One wonders why serious archaeological work hasn't already been done there. Lack of funding? Egyptian politics?
Very interesting. Appreciate all of the work you put in to these videos.
This is one of your best Videos Matt, and yes, it explores the water connections of Egypt and the surrounding area.
To further the concept of potential water uses by these ancestors, I would recommend the work of Gerald Pollock on the Fourth phase of water. He has written a book in which he and his university team show that our current understanding of water is deeply flawed. Our ancestors might not have understood the science that Pollock goes to great lengths to outline when discussing this fourth state, but when you get beyond the science, what Pollock talks about has several applications that could have been discovered by common sense and an understanding of stone. As a taster, the 4th state of water occurs in respect of its relationship to Hydrophilic, or water loving, surfaces, and these are most abundant in nature as limestone, sandstone and granit, all of which were specifically used after great expenditure of effort in the NIle valley. The formation of this 4th phase generates energy, electrical and kinetik, and it can also purify poluted water as it draws energy from sunlight, mainly from the infra red spectrum, which allows the process of waterwork to occur underground as well as above.
Good hunting, and Herodotus is great, its just that his work has mostly been interpreted and transalted by people who did not understand the world that he saw around him as he did.
This was a really interesting video, keep it up man, love your stuff.
I appreciate the always intelligent, enlightening, analytical yet entertaining approach you undertake with your research and video presentations. Visuals are relevant and interesting, theories are compelling. In short, great job! And thank you very much for all your efforts.
WOW, amazing video! I think this hypothesis is correct, the pedestals of Biahmu are the Moeris pyramids. Makes perfect sense. Too bad they were destroyed and dismantled for building materials. And life goes on. Thanks Matt for your detailed presentation. Look forward to your next post.
I think this is the best you’ve done in a while, keep it up.
Beautiful presentation, well researched and excellent food for our hungry brains. Perhaps your best yet, Bravo!
Very beautifully elaborated work! Thank you! 👍🏻
There are likely sunken boats under the soil as well as layers filled with evidence of all of the crops they ate and tools they used. This site would add a lot to the full understanding of the whole society of Egypt over centuries.
Your ideas make the most sense, out of anything I have heard in the past, thanks for the video and keep them coming.
The so called Egyptian people who live there now have no relation to ancient Egypt. Just a reminder
Yeah they are all just muslims, the real true Egyptian has been extinct for along time, these muslims can barely keep a modern museum up and running let alone be responsible for building monuments that lasted thousands of years

Pauli Alan Your racism towards Blacks proves your hatred towards yourself lol
@@FimbongBass wow, your mother must be proud to have raised a bigot.
@@Represent1 Not agreeing with a belief of a culture, is NOT racism. Thinking that an idea, held mostly by a specific race, is ridiculous, is NOT racism. Even mocking said belief isn't. It may be rude, and it can be accepted as being offensive, to mock something that people believe to be truth. But that doesn't make it racism. People are WAY too quick to pull the racist card, when they come across someone who doesn't agree with, or like something that is accepted or believed by a different race. It's ridiculous.
If people still believe that individual is racist for not believing the claim that ancient Egyptians were black, wouldn't that make all of the people who argue that they were of black lineage, also racist? I mean, they don't agree with, or believe the other people, who claim ancient Egyptians weren't black, but that they were of whatever other skin color or race. Kind of doing the same thing.
This is one of your best videos Matt!

thanks man that was a COOL video big fan keep up the good job
Vocals and audio sound great!
It would be interesting to know if these two pyramids had any astronomical alignments.
Thanks for the great video!
Of course they did. EVERYTHING that is old has astronomical alignments. Haven't you noticed? ;-)
@MrCloudseeker I am being facetious. It seems to me that everyone who ever discovers an ancient building assumes it is for astronomical observation or is aligned with Orion or some shit! Did the ancients never build a gymnasium for athletic training? Did they never build a place where many people could gather to eat? Did they never build something just for grandeur and style? We do. We do it all the time! Ancient humans were no different than us. They just had different culture and technology. Why does everything have to be a solar observation point or a temple to the sun god?
Maybe in 5000 years, archeologists will dig up the NFL stadium in Seattle and be like "They worshipped a bird called The Seahawk!" Or they will dig up something else and it won't be aligned to the cardinal directions, so that will clearly be evidence of polar shift because all ancient peoples aligned everything to the stars!
@@Itchypantz Because it was a Globe spanning 'Religion' (science) of Astronomical Worship. A bit like the one we have today called 'Christianity', of Pagan origin. 'Jesus' meaning literally 'THE SUN'. The 12 disciples being the 12 Zodiac signs or constellations that 'follow the Son' or 'follow the SUN', get it? The list goes on.
Dig deep enough and you'll discover that Astrotheology and Sacred Geometry have been the only game in town as far as the human species is concerned for many, many Millennia.
Travis Merriman combo of there being a bunch of things that are aligned and wishful thinking. If a primary feature, like a peak of centre stone in a circle lines up with a solstice, that’s more than likely intentional. If the building aligns north/south/east/west thats akso possible. both are things ancient groups were known to have done. Now when people start claiming that buildings are aligned to constellations or random elements of the structure line up, but not a focal point, this is wishful thinking. wanting to see meaning where there is none. Much like thid water pump theory
@@sockdip69 There was a global religion, huh? Hmm! I didn't know that! But I don't think anyone can know that. Yet we still have people saying that it is true, as though it is. And when you use bigger words to say it, you must be righter. ;-)

Not tombs? Ah.. So temples it is then... Temples. Where they invented gods to explain why it is dots in the sky at night etc... But we can forget all that now because science. We are smarter now than people back then trust me.
@@voidremoved no they watched the skies because of fear of what it can bring. Hence the huge underground cities being found, maybe why Globeke-Tepe was buried in one shot. You know things that brought on Younger-Dryas. By the way another great video.
Think of them as tomb-STONES. People were buried beneath, not inside, the pyramids.

Awesome video Matt. Your research and info never ceases to amaze me. Great job brother
Bravo Matt- awesome video.
Great video and perspective. The pyramids (all over the Earth) are definitely some kind of technology. I suspect a power connection, possibly Tesla-like wireless power transmission towers in addition to the fact that the Giza plateau is a star chart from the year it was built...
I agree it would be a fantastic dig. Who knows what would be found, not just the bases, but all around them too. Cheers young Matt

Thank you so much for your discipline and care in creating these essential documents for our own time - and, I do not doubt, long beyond, far into the future. (But it's a little unnerving these exist primarily - exclusively? - at YT. I have not been pleased, myself, with Vimeo's terms or service. I am looking into Twitch, but it is an unserious place at present, unless one is serious about gaming. Losing access to my favorite bookmarked episodes of "Ancient Architects" here at YT would be quite devastating, is what I guess I am saying.)
Man another great video I can't remember getting so many videos in a row love watching them great content
I’m sure that this has been discussed but, if they were there, where did they go? I keep wanting the video to expound in what happened to them
I did say towards the end they were likely destroyed and when - probably re-used for building stone.
It was a common practice for millenniums that newer civilizations would dismantled and use the stone structures of their forebears for their own projects. They didn't have the reverence for historical sites that modern man has, they just saw them as ready made building material.
Thank you! Fascinating information. Hopefully, an accepted archeological dig can occur.
Thank you for the research you’re doing!
That explanation is super satisfying! Makes sense but what do I know

Great Video I will show to my doubters, just to rub it in. I have been telling this pump theory for many years now.
Thank you very much for the video!!!!! ♥️
Well researched and reasoned, your work is a worthy addition to Egyptology
Amazing video! Love it
Awesome video;yet again it seems we might be looking at a "legacy cultures" leftovers, being reused? A motif/concept that seems to crop up too much in Egypt to be ignored or dismissed any longer. The paper you mentioned is excellent and I greatly enjoyed your version/extrapolation. Vast/complex and very ancient underground water systems are know all over the ,now ,Arab world. The UNESCO Alflaj system,in Oman, is a fraction of a country wide endeavour, the same/similar Qanat systems of ancient Persia now Iran are the remains of another extensive endeavour. In fact it's rare not to have some firm of underground system, you'll find them in Yemen,Saudi,Jordan etc and along the North Coast of Africa. So the idea of a connection to Lybia is not only likely, but, there is evidence of and underground 'river' system know. How much is completely natural and how much man-made is unknown as no one has really done enough work. Also systems like these, fall easily into disrepair if not constant kept up, or simply dry up over millenia as water tables rise & fall and droughts and floods occur.Did they all have a common source in Egypt or were these complex hydraulic systems known from an ancient predeluvian time and repurposed later, just as some are still in use today? An excellent theory that holds much merit, kudos💥👊❤💯👌🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟👍👏👏👏Very best to you&yours👋🌟✌
It is so baffling why we don’t have unbiased research looking into all ancient civil engineering efforts. At least we get to realize what may be possible from folks like you and together we should push for a new paradigm shift.
baffling? the enemies of christendom have occupied the western academic space for quite a long time now, and these groups rely on central banking "trickle down" economics for funding...
Nice one Matt...
Cheers mate!
fantastic...great piece of the puzzle that fits right in with my way of thinking
What would be interesting to find out is what is underneath the earth level. The statues on Easter Island descend far below the earth and those statues are not as old.
Ancient Egypt maybe alot bigger than we thought. The lake reminds me of the shallow lake of saint Claire. In order to build pyramids upon a lake you have to establish a strong base foundation underneath.
This was a flood of enlightening information. Thank you for the research.
The famous Theosophist, C W Leadbeater was a highly developed clairvoyant. He consulted the memory of nature and wrote many books that included the history of mankind during the last 72,000 years. According to Leadbeater, Egyptian civilizations came and went over millennia. One thing he did mention was that there was a violent volcanic eruption in 9564 BC that caused tsunami throughout the Mediterranian area. The Great Pyramid was there then and still had a smooth surface at that time. I can't prove it of course but he seems to be quite credible.
I would also say based off your diagrams of the pyramid internals that the spontaneous rooms or rectangular areas which drop in elevation act like sumps for catching heavier crud.
My favorite video yet. First time I have ever posted on you tube. I love the content. I am in agreement with you that the pyramids were a water works, with the main “pumps” being that of the bent pyramid, and then later by the great pyramid. The smaller pyramids of Giza could have been used as a pressure or vacuum break. When looking at the internal structure of the great pyramid, it closely resembles a hypodermic needs. I believe that in the grand gallery, there is a series of indentions on the sides, possibly for locking a plunger mechanism. If plunger can be pulled to top, while the the water inlet is then blocked, possibly by another pyramid, water can then be forced out by then pushing the “plunger” down the grand gallery. Also, the ventilation shafts could be used as a vacuum break. The result would be a water supply, but, also, by directing water through very small evenings..the pressure would be extremely high. The water pressure could be used to pressurize and power several machines. The other pyramids may have been machines, or possibly additional pressure/vacuum chambers. The amount of pressure generated may have been enough to destroy lesser pyramids. Think of hydraulics. It is interesting to know that lake moeris sits higher than that of Giza. I would love to know more about (as we all would) about the under ground passages throughout Giza and saqqara. Hawara is an intriguing sight as well, with its tunnels flooded. As you stated, the chambers could act as a type of valve system. After studying as a hobbyist, and working in the hydro electric and steam power plant industry, it too is obvious to me that this is a water works system. A highly advanced water works. I believe they had a way early on to increase water pressure, and were masters at harmonics. After all, they always seem to be holding tuning forks. Combine those two and suddenly precision stone cutting and stone moving doesn’t seem so mysterious. Just a few of my opinions. Probably a shot in the dark, but still, like the rest of us have a passion for solving these age old mysteries. I would love to have a conversation with you some time, to pick your brain a little and bounce some more ideas or theories I have, as well as your own.. My email is rdeloff1@gmail.com.
Again, thanks for the amazing videos. Keep up the good work!

Herodotus himself said only that a pyramid was situated at one corner of the structure (The Lost Labyrinth) and that it was “a little above the lake of Moiris and nearly opposite to that which is called the City of Crocodiles"
Big refreshing news when all your life all I've known is of the ancient pyramids and now I know of these 2 others in the middle of a lake... Imagination just runs wild thinking about when these structures were in prime operational state and being used! Thanks for this.
I am beginning to develop the impression that there could very well be pyramids spread throughout the entire planet, some buried some submerged and many yet to be found.
You refer to them as water pumps. Close, but the official term you are looking for is "Intake Structure". Like what you are saying, "intake structures" regulate the amount of water within a water body. It's an interesting idea as it may suggest whoever made these could have very much known of the gravity and physics principles of water and used it to regulate through in ground aquifer type storage systems and channels.
The second “tomb” if we give it that charitable
Interpretation could be for his wife
Check out Hydraulic Ram pump. That's very close to great pyramid tunnels and chambers.
Is there a working model to demonstrate the pyramids as water pumps theory? Considering the size of construction, the advantages they offered must have been phenomenal.

The water pump idea is intriguing as just a few days ago I saw a video about falling water being used to compress air for powering air tools in mines in Canada. Air was mixed with water, escaped into a chamber and got compressed by the height difference in water levels. Now given your previous video on compressing granite for piezo electricity via high pressure ethanol, would such a thing be possible using water in the pyramids? Just an idle thought linking random stuff over the last few days. It's probably quite a dangerous thought as it's a completely unsubstantiated notion on no real evidence, but possibly an entertaining one at least.
