This is soooo incredible!!!! Y'all are soo lucky to have experienced him so early in his career. Pure Humble Gritty Edgy Talent... with an unmatched witty sense of humor. He's been such a tremendous inspiration and influence on so many artists over the last 35 years...including us. We sincerely feel, he should be inducted into the rock 'n roll hall of fame. He's a bonafide National Treasure.
Ahhh the good old days, this really takes me back.. I'm from Dallas and enjoyed this early bar band incarnation of RHH many nights out in my younger days. Thank you for posting!
Back then: 1989 El Paso TX freshman in highschool... That's exactly when I first heard the reverend, a bootleg tape nontheless! Now: 2021 still listening, even though I lost all my vinyls to my 20 yo daughter! 😣😁
Someone uploaded an earlier video of the same show, but it was cut too early. I had this lying around and decided to upload the whole song instead of just cutting out halfway.
Odds I was at this one are pretty high. Hard to think of not being at a Horton Heat show at Dada in ’88. I think the Sounds of Deep Ellum compilation with this on it came out around this time. They were probably the first local band I saw as often as I could.

I first saw him in '93 opening up for Frank Black on his first tour. Way up in Rochester, Texas! WAAAAAHOOOOO
This is how I first discovered the Rev.! I got a compilation called Deep Ellum back in 1988. Been a fan ever since.
