You can't beat the 90's when it came to Barbie, the Beach dolls were great, my sister was gifted this doll, must say wasn't mad about the hair, that pearly blond with a fringe/bangs no no lol fast forward to being an adult collector and I started getting Beach barbies and Skippers, so far Sun Jewel, Tropical Splash, Sparkle Beach, I have Glitter Beach Skipper but Not Barbie, intension was to reroot a pair for each summer, life does get in the way, need to go back to it, there's some lovely Beach Barbies (we used to call them basic lol) and we weren't fans of the stretched out arms, specially ken we called him the slim ones compared to the folded arms ones. She came out so pretty!!!

I love restoring well-loved dolls, and Kanekalon hair like this is especially challenging. I will often flatiron it to get it even more smooth, and then use a low-heat crimping iron on it if I really want that late 80s/early 90s look. Dolls like this always look super scary at first, because the hair is just so unruly, but as you've shown, you can get really great results if you just take your time and get all the tangles out without causing more breakage than absolutely necessary.

It is very satisfying that seeing the hair is fixed for Barbie. The Eskimo coat is very cute on her as well. The Barbie Fashion Avenue is the best fashion pack ever. Produced in the 90s/ early 00s, some of the outfits still look fashionable and trendy.

When it comes to that type of body which have been used since 1971 with the Quick Curl Miss America ,i like to heat the hands with very hot to boiling water then turn them palms facing legs for what i feel is a more natural look . Have you seen the 1990 winter Fun barbie doll ? it comes in a white skiing outfit with fur covered ski boots . .
There was 1 other doll that came with the Sun Jewel earrings. it is a bent arm beauty pageant doll meant to be sold all over the world that came wearing a bright pink & silver outfit . Single ruffled shoulder -strap swimsuit with a long ballgown skirt & ruffle that could turn it into a ballet outfit and i know you have seen at least 1 similar outfit. there is also an American version that came in a blue/silver version of the outfit called American Beauty Queen but it just came with basic silver earrings . i have both beauty pageant dolls . Since i don't have a sun jewel doll i gave a sun jewel swimsuit to the international beauty doll as an extra outfit ,since she has the sun jewel earrings .
