Great video and gorgeous dolls! In the U.S. 'Homecoming' is a high school tradition where the school has a week that celebrates the school, its founders, alumni, and sports. At the end of the week is an American Football game (although sometimes other sports are highlighted if a school does not have a football team) played on the home field, followed by a formal or semi-formal dance where a Homecoming Queen and King are 'crowned'. This Homecoming 'court' has been voted on by the other students. It is a pretty big deal, and Homecoming Queen candidates sometimes campaign for votes much like politicians. He now restores old microscopes and telescopes. This video soothes me because these dolls are just oh so beautiful! I only have five on this list: Ponytail Barbie #1 75th Anniversary, Lingerie blonde w/pink and Lingerie brunette ponytail, Homecoming Queen Willows, Wisconsin Collection (vinyl, apparently 🤣), and one of the Francie gals. If I had to choose a TOP TEN in my collection, I would have all five of those and add (not your aesthetic) The Usherette, Parisienne Pretty, FAO Schwarz exclusive Fashion Editor, Best to a Tea, and Best in Black just because of her hair and makeup. I redressed her.💖 I think there is nothing quite like owning Silkstone dolls especially from the BFMC.

Such beautiful dolls. Reminds me of the Barbies I had as a child in the late fifties, early sixties. The clothing back then was gorgeous, well made and the materials were first rate. The gowns on the silk stone dolls are so glamorous. Rarely do we find that type of ravishing beauty on dolls these days. And I also love lingerie and sleepwear outfits. Those stockings and garters are so very Hollywood! Thank you for sharing your collection with us. I love seeing your exquisite dolls. By the way, the Gene Marshall dolls of the 1990’s had such glamorous outfits and lots of lingerie. Did you ever hear of them? My mother had many in her collection but sold them all in the 2000’s when she downsized. Wish I had kept a few. 🩷🌷🩷

I liked the outfit of a one piece jumpsuit with an overskirt tied at the waste decorated in a floral pattern. I was aghast when I took her out of the box to find the over skirt was plastic! Plastic, like a shower curtain! Needless to say, she’s displayed sans “shower curtain”. What a disappointment. Mattel should be ashamed.
Silkstone 😍 These girls I just cannot resist taking out of the boxes and I must say if necessary it is not hard to put them back in. Anyway, I have about 12 of them and I display them in a glass curio cabinet. I bought for them a couple of 1.6 scale miniatures of elegant furniture and some other things that recalls and highlights their style. I think my favorite one is the pink mermaid gown 💓

I love your Collection and I love more watching your videos! I would like to mention with no disrespect that the Homecoming Queen Barbie is not made of silkstone material, but vinyl. I know many of us think she is a silkstone doll, including me, but I found out last year the whole series , which she is included, is in fact vinyl. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I’d love to have some but they are out of my price range. Homecoming is a fun week usually in august/september. You get spirit days/dress up days. There is a big pep rally and the homecoming football game. We had the homecoming dance on that Saturday and crowned the king and queen. It’s a fun week!

I did want the waitress silkstone, and looked her up on eBay. It's out of my price range, but I found, by chance, a little pink dress very much like that one, an authentic Barbie little pink waitress dress, and I scooped that up and put it on my blonde Barbie extra doll. And got her some matching heels, and now she stands cute in the corner of my display. When I was a little girl I actually dressed up as a pink dress waitress for Halloween once. I had the little white head thing and all. People thought I was being a nurse. I remember it was frustrating to continually correct them, "No, I'm a waitress!". I liked the look then and I still do.
Oh my goodness they are so beautiful and its impossible to choose a favorite. I don't have a Silkstone Barbie but I would love to have one. Love those reproduction vintage Barbies at the end. I just found the Wedding Barbie yesterday. I have the same three that you have but also the Silken Flame and Poodle Parade. I found most of them at Doll Shows for really good prices. There's many here I would love: the waitress, the principessa, mermaid gown, the nurse, the boater. I'm scared to get into them though. I learned the beauty mark symbolism a while back but just rechecked, the mark near the eye means unscrupulous, the mark by the mouth means coquette.
The blonde at #9 is Lingerie #4. I have her too, she is so pretty. I have Lisette and Fashion Designer from those earlier Silkstone days. Also have Black Enchantment and Country Bound fashions and the accessory pack.

You should look at Glam Gown Barbie. Beautiful Pink/Coral gown with articulation from the 2016 BFMC collection. I think my favorite has to be Mermaid Gown. So hard to choose.

Beautiful collection. I have Blush Beauty and just unboxed her last year even though I bought her years ago and she came with a Robert Best sketch. She's both beautiful and disappointing at the same time 😅In some ways she reminds me of Movie Mixer. Palm Beach Breeze is another one I'd love to have.
@@Barbination I guess my expectations were too high. This was my first classic body silkstone and the most I ever paid for a Barbie. (People who weren't fan club members were charged extra but her artwork was included as a bonus.) I loved the promotional photos and was excited to get her as a birthday present to myself that year, but once I got her disappointment set in. The outfit fabric wasn't as nice as I expected, and underneath her coat the dress was flipped up near the bottom which created this really harsh crease in an otherwise smooth fitted dress (I was livid). Initially I didn't mind the lack of jewelry or simple ponytail, but now that she's on display she seems too plain from the neck up. I was expecting to be blown away by a luxurious doll but instead was left feeling like she wasn't worth the money and I even considered reselling her. I kept her in box for years and only recently took her out to display with my other silkstones. I like her, but Mattel could have done better.

They're quite pricey and I am yet to find that's a steal price. Having them on my collection will be thrilling as much as having the Jewel Hair Mermaid Barbie. 🥰🥰🥰
Before, I was a Barbie fan, and back when Tuesday Morning was fun, I’d find Silkstone dolls frequently at steep discounts but I never picked a single one up. Regret!
The silkstone #1 reproduction is the best and closest to the original #1. Plus the prong stand that comes with the silkstone #1 reproduction fits the feet for the original #1 whereas the other reproduction prong stands do not!
I got interested in Barbie with the Tribute doll (2010), and only was an “official” collector in time for the Homecoming Doll (2014/2015+). It was called the “Barbie Fan Club”. There was an actual membership card 🤣, I might still have mine, it said your name and then member since XYZ year. That is nice to have. You had to pay a fee every year, I think it was 25$ (current MC membership is less). At the time similar to Mattel Creations, you had an account online, but at the time they had bonus items but only towards the beginning of the year (Q1) only (I missed my first year and got the second year) and obviously exclusives like homecoming Queen, (and higher “label” dolls). (At the time IMHO it was easier to get “higher label” dolls, and customer service was more responsive). You also got quarterly? magazines sent, I remember homecoming Queen was a cover girl! Not to long after, maybe the following year or the year after the “bonus” items stopped, but they started the quarterly $, I think in return. 🤷♀️ I would say “bonuses” aside the customer service/access to items was WAY better, in comparison to MC. It’s good the hobby it becoming more popular. Most of the items, I don’t have a prayer to get lol! Even then I still remember missing the Moschino Barbie (black leather). 🛍️ Edit: I “recently” added Palm Beach Honey after waiting for years lol! She is my quintessential “Barbie” in the collection. I even bought the Poppy Parker Lemon Lullaby outfit second hand for her to wear 🤣 Now that the Palm Beach Sugar’s Daddy outfit is finally out, we “sort of” have the full set.
Homecoming is usually attached to the football team's return after the longest road trip of the season or the first home game that falls after an away game, celebrating their safe return. A big deal would be made, with pageantry, parades, etc., and of course a dance so the girls could show off their football heroes. Homecoming court (king, queen, and attendants) is basically a popularity contest, as the student body votes for their favorite students. The winners get a special dance and place in parade. They keep their title for a year. I love the aesthetic of these dolls so much - that era is how I am building my collection. Probably will never own one because I'm a cheapskate, but I love them. They are so elegant, classy, timeless. IDC what generation you are, you would respect this lady. Vintage lingerie is so extra. In the 80s, I was punk/tomboy, but would wear my grandmother's slips or Merry Widow under my tough clothes. In an era where women were treated as slaves of the home/husband, lingerie was a way of saying they were still a treasure, a princess. I've never felt sexier in my life than when when wearing a vintage slip with all the lace and ruffles.
When I was a member back in the mid to late 1990's you would get your membership card and a gift. One year I got on outfit for Barbie. Times have changed.
Oh gosh, I love these Barbies. I only have two of them, but I really NEED more of them. I regret not buying Blush Beauty when she came out. I love the auburn hair and the sparkle on her dress. Also should have bought the Showgirl and In the Pink before silkstones skyrocketed in price on the secondary market. I really just want all the pink ones. An updated face paint for the vintage head in a lux material with detailed clothes. Perfection! I'm glad they're bringing them back. I'll be skipping the first two in the reboot because they're not pink, but I am excited for more of this line. I hope they do another wedding one. I love bride dolls. They really do have that beautiful fantastical romantic feeling! You know what would be amazing for the next new BFMC doll? An Enchanted Evening inspired BFMC doll! Enchanted Evening but even more elevated!

I did want the waitress silkstone, and looked her up on eBay. It's out of my price range, but I found, by chance, a little pink dress very much like that one, an authentic Barbie little pink waitress dress, and I scooped that up and put it on my blonde Barbie extra doll. And got her some matching heels, and now she stands cute in the corner of my display. When I was a little girl I actually dressed up as a pink dress waitress for Halloween once. I had the little white head thing and all. People thought I was being a nurse. I remember it was frustrating to continually correct them, "No, I'm a waitress!". I liked the look then and I still do.

Oh my goodness they are so beautiful and its impossible to choose a favorite. I don't have a Silkstone Barbie but I would love to have one. Love those reproduction vintage Barbies at the end. I just found the Wedding Barbie yesterday. I have the same three that you have but also the Silken Flame and Poodle Parade. I found most of them at Doll Shows for really good prices. You should look at Glam Gown Barbie. Beautiful Pink/Coral gown with articulation from the 2016 BFMC collection. I think my favorite has to be Mermaid Gown. So hard to choose.

Beautiful collection. I have Blush Beauty and just unboxed her last year even though I bought her years ago and she came with a Robert Best sketch. She's both beautiful and disappointing at the same time 😅In some ways she reminds me of Movie Mixer. Palm Beach Breeze is another one I'd love to have.

@@Barbination I guess my expectations were too high. This was my first classic body silkstone and the most I ever paid for a Barbie. (People who weren't fan club members were charged extra but her artwork was included as a bonus.) I loved the promotional photos and was excited to get her as a birthday present to myself that year, but once I got her disappointment set in. The outfit fabric wasn't as nice as I expected, and underneath her coat the dress was flipped up near the bottom which created this really harsh crease in an otherwise smooth fitted dress (I was livid). Initially I didn't mind the lack of jewelry or simple ponytail, but now that she's on display she seems too plain from the neck up. I was expecting to be blown away by a luxurious doll but instead was left feeling like she wasn't worth the money and I even considered reselling her. I kept her in box for years and only recently took her out to display with my other silkstones. I like her, but Mattel could have done better.

The silkstone #1 reproduction is the best and closest to the original #1. Plus the prong stand that comes with the silkstone #1 reproduction fits the feet for the original #1 whereas the other reproduction prong stands do not!

I got interested in Barbie with the Tribute doll (2010), and only was an “official” collector in time for the Homecoming Doll (2014/2015+). It was called the “Barbie Fan Club”. There was an actual membership card 🤣, I might still have mine, it said your name and then member since XYZ year. That is nice to have.
You had to pay a fee every year, I think it was 25$ (current MC membership is less). At the time similar to Mattel Creations, you had an account online, but at the time they had bonus items but only towards the beginning of the year (Q1) only (I missed my first year and got the second year) and obviously exclusives like homecoming Queen, (and higher “label” dolls). (At the time IMHO it was easier to get “higher label” dolls, and customer service was more responsive). You also got quarterly? magazines sent, I remember homecoming Queen was a cover girl!
Not to long after, maybe the following year or the year after the “bonus” items stopped, but they started the quarterly $, I think in return. 🤷♀️
I would say “bonuses” aside the customer service/access to items was WAY better, in comparison to MC. It’s good the hobby it becoming more popular. Most of the items, I don’t have a prayer to get lol! Even then I still remember missing the Moschino Barbie (black leather). 🛍️
Edit: I “recently” added Palm Beach Honey after waiting for years lol! She is my quintessential “Barbie” in the collection. I even bought the Poppy Parker Lemon Lullaby outfit second hand for her to wear 🤣 Now that the Palm Beach Sugar’s Daddy outfit is finally out, we “sort of” have the full set.

I love the aesthetic of these dolls so much - that era is how I am building my collection. Probably will never own one because I'm a cheapskate, but I love them. They are so elegant, classy, timeless. IDC what generation you are, you would respect this lady. Vintage lingerie is so extra. In the 80s, I was punk/tomboy, but would wear my grandmother's slips or Merry Widow under my tough clothes. In an era where women were treated as slaves of the home/husband, lingerie was a way of saying they were still a treasure, a princess. I've never felt sexier in my life than when when wearing a vintage slip with all the lace and ruffles.

Oh gosh, I love these Barbies. I only have two of them, but I really NEED more of them. I regret not buying Blush Beauty when she came out. I love the auburn hair and the sparkle on her dress. Also should have bought the Showgirl and In the Pink before silkstones skyrocketed in price on the secondary market. I really just want all the pink ones. An updated face paint for the vintage head in a lux material with detailed clothes. Perfection! I'm glad they're bringing them back. I'll be skipping the first two in the reboot because they're not pink, but I am excited for more of this line. I hope they do another wedding one. I love bride dolls. They really do have that beautiful fantastical romantic feeling!
