The philosopher Plato hated artists because he thought they were professional liars. They sang and wrote about things they hadn't experienced, nor did they really understand. When I hear a product of the pop culture industry, like a song by 16 year old Britney Spears singing about love and sex and other things she doesn't know shit about, I am inclined to agree with him. But when I listen to this song, I can see that he was dead wrong. There's nothing but truth here. Truth born out of life experience.
