Thanks very much Bernd for this great lesson! One of the best songs ever (by one of the best bands!) & it's been on my 'learn to play properly' list for about 30 years now!😆
Fantastic tutorial! One of my favorite songs. I’ve recently been playing a lot in DADGAD and remembered that this song was in DADGAD. You just made it so easy for me. Thank you so much! Also, great resonator guitar. Your tone is spot on. Thx again.
Thank you so much Bernd, I have played this song badly for years, and now you have enlightened me, you really nailed it. Thank you so much, absolutely brilliant.
Saw Del Amitri in Birmingham last night, and they ended the show with a gorgeous version of this timeless classic. Many thanks for taking us through the chords and fingering. Now to get my guitar retuned….. Keep up the good work Bernd!
It's a pity they don't tour in Germany anymore. I've once convinced my wife to make a trip to Edinburgh to see Del Amitri there, but I'm not sure if that trick would work twice... :D Thanks for your comment!
Great tutorial Bernd. Technically great, your English is (shamefully! ) better then mine and I live here. And humorous to involve the Roadie. JC played a tiny local show here in my town around 7-8 yrs ago. Could’ve heard a pin drop during this incredible song! Thank you Sir
I share your love for the Dels and for this song. Amazimg job and nice video. Thanks for the tutorial! I finally get "the" sound and I love it. Made my day. Thanks, man🙏🏻🙌🏻 I'm off to practise😉
Many thanks Bernd, you're so right about this melody, it's so delightful that I'd have it as No 1 if I were ever stranded on a desert island. I've just been reading about a lass called Jenny Sturgeon who has made an entire album of songs based on the Cairngorms. She tells the story of her guitar, made from local materials - an old shelf from a local bar, and even heather and lichen growing in the Cairngorms. I'd love to hear Be my downfall played on her instrument!
I think what you show for the introduction is what they play between the choruses, but I think they just sick to G in the introduction, not the Am. I also think the chord you were unsure of should be 6 string fret 4, 5 string fret 4, 4 string open, 3 string fret 2, 2 string open, 1 string open. Aber gut gemacht.
Thanks for your feedback! I like the idea of having B as a bass note - just can't get used to the 4th string open, but it's definetly worth a try! Vielen Dank!!
English is great but I'd like this on an acoustic not a dobro. That C chord would sound more like a C. Just me recovering from the worst ear infection of my life.
Can’t believe it took me 4 years to find this great tutorial. Brilliant, thanks! 🙏
Thank you - happy to hear this!!
Your English is great! Thanks for this. Brings back '90s memories.
Thanks a lot - I'm glad you like it!
Danka Bernd. I really love this song and it is now at the top of my list of “songs to learn”
A great tutorial - thank you 👍
Your English is far superior to my schoolboy German sir !
Many thanks.

Thank you Bernd, fantastic video and great instruction. Well done.
Ich bin Schottisch und ich verhere Del Amitri. Das war sehr gut. Danke schön 👍
Hey, vielen Dank! Das freut mich sehr!
Brilliant video, thanks 😁
Thank you! This helps address so many doubts and questions. I figured out TELL HER THIS much easier than this one. Which is also DADGAD but CAPO VI.
Thank you so much Bernd, I have played this song badly for years, and now you have enlightened me, you really nailed it. Thank you so much, absolutely brilliant.
Thank you for your comment - it's good to know that the video is useful for other Del Amitri fans!
Great work man. I just wonder which chord comes at the chorus at be my downfall ?
Great tutorial, and your English is spot on. Thank you
Thanks a lot! =)
Thanks, Bernd. You brought it together nicely. Your English is pretty good too! My "roadie" agrees!
Excellent work.
Thanks!!
Thanks buddy one of my favourite songs and I learned to tune on the 5th capo too! Thanks for taking the time..
Glad you like it!

Me too, a 3 hours ago at the London Palladium, delightful! 🎶🎶🎶
Much appreciated, Bernd. Huge Del, and Justin solo fan.
Glad you like it - thanks!
Thank you, I have been searching for the correct chord voicing for this song for years.
Thank you for your video and time invested, Bernd. God bless.
Thanks a lot!
My favourite song, so really pleased I found your tutorial.... I'm gonna give it a go now
Thanks, bro - great to get feedback and this is such a positive one!
Brilliant 🙌
Thanks a lot!
Great song and great tutorial. Thanks
Glad you like it!
Thank you so much !
Great. Often wondered what tuning Justin Currie uses in his acoustic sets. Many thanks for posting. Not really used GADGAD chords before.
Thanks for the comment, Nick - glad you like it!
Fantastic tutorial, thank you so much. And your English is awesome!
Thanks a lot!

Thanks for your comment! You're so right - it would be my No 1 as well. Just googled Jenny Sturgeon and bought her album!
Danke - war sehr hilfreich!
Freut mich sehr!
Your English is way better than my German 🤠
Thanks. Such a beautiful song, isn't it? PS. Your English is mint! (as we say in Manchester)
Thanks, mate! =)

Great English…You speak it like an American from the Midwest.
Thanks! I wonder where that's from - I've never been to the midwest... :D
