    I ride around in these a lot for my research in Nepal, and there's nothing else like it. While everyone in the sim has flown around Lukla, there are some great freeware airports out for some really amazing strips like Dolpa/Juphal, Jomosom, Jumla, or Simikot, which you should definitely check out. Combined with the Orbex Himalaya mesh, it makes for some great exploring.

    • @AvAngel
      @AvAngel  2 роки тому +3

      There's a stunner up the valley from Lukla that's even higher, flatter sure, but a bit more interesting on approach, forget the name, love flying up there! lucky to get to visit such beautiful places in real life!

    • @ouyangwulong
      @ouyangwulong 2 роки тому +8

      @@AvAngel yeah, Syangboche, at Namche Bazzar. They use it for medevac flights. IRL it is pretty sketchy and not even the pilots who land at Lukla will fly out of there unless someone is literally dying. However, if you want to properly simulate flying in the Khumbu valley, you have to first plan your flight, then wait four to five days for the weather to clear before you can actually depart.
      But check out Dolpa. It's not a "full commitment" airport the way Lukla is, but it's perched on a crag above a dusty valley, and the developer has done an amazingly evocative job of building the town of Juphal around it. From there, you can follow the river up to the valley to the lake Shey Phoksundo where there are some interesting opens spaces to do bush landings. The only thing missing is the snow leopards. I've been doing glider flights around there with the Discus 2c while I wait for Omicron to subside so I can get back out into the real world.

    Oh get all the nice planes and this one is a thing of beauty . I have actually flown in these a few times with " White Knuckle Airways " or Logie Bear " or as they are officially know " Logan Air " . Very loud inside the cabin for the passengers but always an exciting ride and these things land pretty much every where . This is a purchase i will be making when it gets released and as always great video .

    Feb 11,2022: I just noticed an update for the DHC-6, so I did the update and gave it a shot.
    One of the things I had noticed before, is that the GPS is really small, and there doesn't seem to be a view for it. I _could_ change to the copilot seat, as it appears to be closer to that station, but I thought I had a better idea.
    Re-learn how to detach the GPS and move it (enlarged) to one of my other two monitors. No dice. It works on the G1000 for the Cessna 172, and the Carenado 182T, but does nothing in the DHC-6. (Right-ALT, then click on the screen you want to move).
    In a slightly different vein, my wife and I flew (as passengers) on a DHC-6 with a VERY nice glass cockpit. I didn't see any of the liveries here with a glass cockpit. I got an aisle seat in the 2nd row, so had a GREAT view of the pilot seat, and about 1/2 of the copilot seat! My wife and I were pretty heavy at the time, so we got primo seats under the wing. The wee folks were relegated to the back of the plane. (I lost 50lbs after my wife passed away). We also got a great view of Hoover Dam and the new bypass bridge on the way there and on the way back! Great trip.
    Other than the tiny non-movable GPS and not being able to detach it, it really is pleasant to fly. Very stable for landing.

    I still remember the Aerosoft Twin Otter from my FSX days, did some repaints and a panel mod for the RealityXP GNS530 back then. Still very early in the video, but if Aerosoft don't nail this aircraft like they nailed the CRJ I'll be incredibly surprised.

    • @WhiteHawk77
      @WhiteHawk77 2 роки тому

      I mean, from what I’ve heard the CRJ has a number of bugs, and missing features, so it doesn’t sound like they completely nailed that one. Plus the modelling and texturing on this Otter isn’t up to the Kodiak 100 standard. So even though I’m very interested in this plane, I don’t think it’s going to be as good as it could have been.

    • @joemarkowski4465
      @joemarkowski4465 2 роки тому +1

      @@WhiteHawk77 I've had the CRJ almost since it came out. There may have been a few issues at launch but I'm not sure what features you think are missing, and despite Asobo's constant attempts to break add ons they've kept it in working order.
      This is also, as pointed out many times in the video, not the final product.

    • @WhiteHawk77
      @WhiteHawk77 2 роки тому

      @@joemarkowski4465 not me saying it, as I said, from what I’ve heard, a number of people I’ve seen are not happy with the state of the CRJ and the fact they are moving onto other things without improving that plane. Also, this Otter is out in less than two weeks, nothing that’s of lower quality like the model itself and textures is going to be changed now or probably ever, so it not being final, doesn’t really matter.

    • @AvAngel
      @AvAngel  2 роки тому

      They won't be gone, but there will be work arounds... its just the physical lever anyway, the actual axis still functions, and its just a turboprop issue, piston aircraft are fine and operate as usual.

    • @thecorporatepilotdad
      @thecorporatepilotdad 2 роки тому +1

      It is a hydraulic power pack (electrically driven pump) which keeps hydraulic pressure up for hydraulic subsystems and more importantly, the brakes. When system pressure drops the pump kicks on until the pressure reaches a certain amount and then shuts off and repeats when the system pressure drops to a certain amount.
