I’m absolutely in love with all your videos! Now the problem is I’ve watched them all and wanna see more! 🤣🥰🤦🏼♀️ I especially love these vids with the barrels b/c I can see your jumping position. I just started riding again after a 15 yr break, and apparently I was taught a completely wrong 2-point position when I was younger! Trying hard to get the “proper” form into my muscle memory!! 🤯🤯

Its so great to see a 3* eventer also spooks!!! Mine is exactly the same, on the flatwork or in general life, he is scared and spooks at everything and everyone. But as soon as he is on a XC course he just takes all the jumps. Hes still a little uncertain, but mommy is there to save him and he is so brave. but in everyday life he just isnt brave at all. Its so funny and after 2 years, I have finally come to terms with the fact that he probably is always gonna spook and just not make a big deal out of it.
Loved this Amanda, Huey is a bit of legend !! (Had to laugh at the start when he first clocked the barrels....classic 🤣) These exercises are so ‘doable’ for all levels of rider so they’re totally brilliant! You’re a superstar with an amazing sense of humor and so relatable, I love your channel 👍🏻👌🏻🥰❤️
Suggestion for the pole holder for the top of the jump: cut the base off an empty plastic spray drum, the type that has the dip right through the middle to accommodate stacking onto other drums (ie the handle of the drum below). You can cut to varying heights, and also use as poles holders for cavaletti. The other side you can use as scary jump fill i.e cut the other end off and slide several over a pole. Local farmers are usually a good resource for them ☺️

One either side, should do the job. I haven’t tried this myself but I use pool noodles for lots of things.
So glad mine isnt th only horse that freaks at the little things he has seen a million times. For the top rail on your drums I got my dad to curve a edge off two bricks so its smooth to hold the rails in place seems to work really well.

I am retired now use to work ride for many years with the racing teams and loved my work with some very hot and beautiful thoroughbreds back in the U.K. and Channel Islands best years ever for me. I really am enjoying how you explain everything in simplicity terms and you are a super rider very compact while riding beautiful hands and seat. I have been to Australia twice in my youth and just loved it there. Where is your home? I am now moving onto your next clip.Thanks for sharing.😎❤️😎
I was just thinking about your pole sliding problem on top, potentially an old jump cup flattened in the back nailed on would do the trick but it wouldn't move at all if they hit it. Was also like "I should totally do this" but we just had our first jump school outside and my mare got rather excited and bucked a couple times then just when she was softening on the circle BUCK and run up the hill sans me lol
Hi, I’ve recently gotten an eventer (who was eventing at 1.05) but I have never really had a horse who can jump more than like 70cm. So, I have so far jumped her 90cm which is quite a large jump for me as I have never really had a decent jumper. Anyone got some tips for a better jump position, and a more stable leg ??
Ak horsemanship thank you! On my pony I used to do a lot of bareback (almost every ride) but then couldn’t ride for 3 months cause she came up lame, then got arthritis. I gained a lot of balance and stability in my leg. When I got my new horse though, she is very strong in the mouth and (because we don’t have an arena at the moment) our trot work is good but as soon as I ask for the canter, the strides feel longer, and bigger, and faster, then when I bring her back to trot, it’s super bouncy, and it takes her a while to come back to walk. But I haven’t died soo far 😂😅
Any tips for a spooky horse that does the opposite to Hughy? My Arab gets really deep into fences and I'd like him to take a longer spot but he wants to get right up the fence then our jump is a bit awkward to get over.

Try pulling the ground rail out more and make sure your horse is in a good and even rhythm and in front of your leg all the way up to the fence
