      I find it kinda strange because they said you can't just save the money but I have like a 14yr and he doesn't need as much as he gets but in the paper work it says you need to spend most of it you can't just save it for him. I don't know I don't want to use it on anything for the house just hope we don't get in trouble for not spending it

    I can only conclude that the lady who called asking about her boyfriend moving into her house and them keeping their assets/money somehow separate while sharing the home (I not only got exhausted...I got really confused) has not listened to Dave Ramsey very long. You will NEVER hear him recommend doing what he calls "playing house". If I were involved with a man for YEARS and he had not yet decided he wanted to marry me, I would be history. Maybe it's just me, but if a man had not decided to marry me after we had been dating for a year or so, I would assume he was NEVER going to be interested in marrying me and I would move on.

    Hospice nurse here. It can be a great income depending on your location. It is a very physical job, however. You will be in homes moving and caring for people without help at times. I get the feeling you may already be caregiving? Don’t count on not being required to lift, bend, tuck and roll. It is a very rewarding career if you are truly called to it! 🙏🏼

    • @nodsib

      I am a hospice nurse. It is very physical. Nursing in general is very physical, time consuming. You will work evenings, weekends, holidays, 12-hour shifts, with very short or no breaks. It takes a special person to do it. You won't be poor as a nurse, but it won't make you wealthy. Hospice nurses will work around the clock and nap when they can. Unfortunately, people die around the clock.

    To the man who is going to start a mobile car detailing service. I am on three neighborhood watch groups in a fairly large city and there is at least one ad for mobile detailing on each one every day and also one for duct cleaning. Every car wash in our area does detailing and 90% of them will pick up your car from your home and bring it back. I doubt that there is much money in either of these professions.
    I understand that he wants to build fancy things. If he limits his market to fancy items, he's cutting off all the people who need railings and ramps built for handicapped family members, fence building or repairs and attic or basement remodeling, all of which I had done in the past two years. And I hired everybody through word-of-mouth and referrals from my friends and neighbors. He should get a job right now and do side work and he will be so busy he won't have time to sleep!

    • @eileenwatt8283
      @eileenwatt8283 5 місяців тому

      To Lindsay. You still have to do lifting as a new nurse. In nursing school and after before becoming a hospice nurse. End of life care does not mean neglect of care. The patients have to be pulled up in bed turned and changed their diaper.
      Maybe look into Occupational nurse and work for a large corporation. It's not a bedside position. It's teaching employees about health. Look into employment at a pharmaceutical company. They hire nurses.
      Bedside nurse is physical work. Look into administrative nurse but you have to do bed side before.

He is self-employed and only claimed a fraction of what he made. He continued to tell me I could never do it without him. It may sound spiteful, but his words drove my determination to succeed. 16 years later, I make close to 6 figures and more importantly, I can look at myself in the mirror and be happy with myself everyday. If I can do it, you can do it! I believe in you! It will take hard work, but it is better than being emotionally extorted. I am rooting for you!!

    Ok I really do not understand these folks who have 70+/year jobs and unable to pay their bills. Because they live in a high cost area if the country. Move or change jobs! You are not entitled to live where you can't afford it! Wish I had 70/year to work for. Thanks Ramsey for the valuable info. I am trying...

      I remember Dave saying that you should ask and they have to send you all the paperwork. He said it's a good idea to do that especially if you don't remember the debt and there have been occasions where numbers got transposed and it's not yours. And if your Social Security number or other personal information is out there on the dark web, you could be the victim of a scam and it would let you know that.

      Get a credit report and provide one to the person you are landing into a serious relationship with and looking to marry. The issue is not the debt only. It's more about their attitude towards debt. If I'm in a relationship with someone in debt and she is making no effort to get out of debt now on their own, I am not marrying her.

    First story, lady came from an abusive relationship of which she was a kid when she got married the first time. She was probably afraid of his reaction if he knew her financial situation. Of which I would say See ya!!. But I think there is more to the story than what he is saying! Not all her fault, maybe he didn’t listen when she spoke.

    I wanted to say that I have loved you show very much and you all have helped us. But I listened the other day and I was upset! A girl had 6k in credit card debt and you enthusiastically encouraged her to settle for .50 on the dollar. How is this any different than bidens student loan forgiveness? Sometimes there are extenuating circumstances like medical bills- but if we borrow money and promise to pay it back why are you encouraging people to not be responsible for their debt
