Cheers Del, if I can get my audio sorted, I'd like to talk whilst driving, to make it a bit more 'in the moment' when I come across obstacles and problems along the way ;)
@@TomleyRC Yes, that would be great. My camera has no "mic" socket, sadly, but if yours does you might be able to sort out a boom or throat mic so you can drive, record and commentate all at once. That´s serious multitasking...
Thank you Colin. Some people have commented in the past that I just do videos of these cheap trucks to make money, but in fact as you can see, I enjoy customising them and trying different things! None of mine are standard 👍
I like this. The commentary is great to learn about all the nuances of the truck/build/shot setup. I would like to see maybe a "highlight" montage at the end a little more theatrical like you do in some other videos. Otherwise, well done!
Not familiar with MudRunner but I liked the video. Loved the commentary. You got your own style in this, and that is refreshing in this RC running video genre ☺️
Liked your commentary and creative truck work. As a viewer, I enjoy listening to your thoughts and natural interest as I can relate. It's great to see something different than the stock trucks, giving ideas and interest to me. . Not weird at all, nothing better than getting something slow and boring and making way to fast and uncontrollable half the time lol. Cheers for the support. 👍
Love this format, Phil! The truck did well log hauling - personally, I liked the commentary, music would have been a distraction I think. Good to hear you describing what was going on, and your favourite bits. Good luck with this new idea, great you are trying something a little different. Thumbs up by the way! :))
Cheers dude. With the help of the Air Filter and Spurs....it looks pretty scale! my 370 Motors are on back order!..well shipped today I think, ordered a couple of weeks back!
looks cool as a little logging truck. durn 2 speed gearbox has a flimsy servo mount that flexes with a load against the gears, nothing some bubble gum and baling wire can't fix if you put on your McGuyver hat. unrelated... sliced off the inside 2 flange tire bead of WPL stock rims, scuffed them flat on sandpaper and the outsides of another set to CA them to. they look stock other than being deep dish now, just a little wider track and the tires sidewalls aren't looking pinched in like they do on the normal stock rims. only gained maybe 3/16" more total width mounted on the C-24.
This is a cool format , I like doing like Mini missions with my wpl c24 lol ,anyway thought it would be neat to have an rc log loader? 😀 but nice as is
Good video man. I like the little mission style runs. Truck looks great too. I was looking into getting a 6 wheeler and you are convincing me the B36 might be the way to go. Is there a vid on the brushless set up you did to it, was thinking of something like that for a C14
The front wheels are not installed correctly. The tread pattern should be like on the rear wheels. Swap the front left and front right wheels. Good work and good result !!!!
I think its fair that some designers want to keep hold of their work. Easy to spend hrs on a design to then have someone take it and make money from it. Shame it's so expensive to send to you.
@@TomleyRC I understand, if you work from that, it's the right thing to do. thingiverse there are good designs and sell them I thought that is good, but there is another kind of thinking as what you indicate but if it is working in this way, it is preferable not to see so as not to be left with the desire to have
Yeah I'm in the process of restoring an older WPL B1 and looking at new wheels. Question for you is what wheels are you running on your B36? Are they deep dish? Thanks in advance. Best, Ed
Always good to see detail on mods and parts your running! Can you mount the brushless with planetary gearbox into the 2speed? Might make second more useful and it might make 3s usable?
I think the Brushless is not ideal for this however it is mounted, a good brushed motor is more controllable at low speed. I have a Dual 370 motor set up to try (3D Printed), but my 370 motors are on back order :(.
Hey I like what you have done with your truck. I was going to go brushless also but I decided not to. I went with w 540 80t but have not tryed it yet. Still building. Question for you do you always have that problem with the gears slipping out when under a load or just sometimes. Well good job the truck is cool I am a wpl fan so I love to see what people has done with them.
I really liked this episode! Your Ural looks super cool! 😍😁👍 I'm really interested in the Dual Motor setup - in theory it should double the torque, doesn't it?
Hopefully will have the 370's soon. I have a pair, but they are different speeds. So bought a new matching pair (hopefully!). Should be lots of torque!
@@TomleyRC Oh, I know these problems... 😁😂 I bought 3 different Motors with reduction gears for my Ural and haven't got it running yet. I hope that the 16W, 980rpm (1:20 reduction) gearbox/ Motor combo is strong enough. The other ones were way to fast and weak even though the truck only ran about 6kph.
Is this made from the B36 with the Communication box on the back? I jsut bought that truck and Its my first. I also have a 3d printer, so now i want to make something similiar to this, as a log truck is much cooler than a communication box!
It actually has no base on the back. The Log supports were made to slide into the chassis. I don't have the files unfortunately as they were made for me. But the base of the comms box is a good for doing other stuff and it looks quite scale without the actual box attached
@@TomleyRC Thanks. Gonna be fun trying to design the wood prongs myself. I like the challenge and will be a good use of my 3d printer to finaly make something selfmade, rather than premade files! But all in due time. First i need to get the truck
Great video! Too bad the pinion failed. The twin 370 setup you have would eliminate the two speed selector slip problem wouldn't it? You asked for opinions on the making of the video. My only suggestion would be to either put some music in and eliminate the truck noise or maybe just turn that volume (truck noise) way down. It can get a little irritating to the ears having to listen to the gear whine while keeping the volume up enough to hear your commentary clearly. And the commentary is great, please don't take that the wrong way. It's the gears, not your voice. 👍
Thanks for the ideas. Yes, I do sometimes add music, it's good for hiding wind noise and the whine of the little motors in this. My twin 370 set up would be ideal in this.... maybe I should try it.
