I affectionately refer to the bones in this video as 'wrist gravel' and I appreciate the range of motion they provide for my hands as they serve their purpose, but I also appreciate that when they aren't doing their job there is a solution, even a solution as serious as surgery

@Jojo forgot where i heard it but healing speed generally directly correlates to blood supply. So muscles and skin which has blood vessels all over heal fast. Bones makes blood, so it has some blood supply and can heal at decent speed. Tendons and cartilage don’t really have a blood supply inside them so it takes longer to heal.
well, sued is more like it. Some surgeons have removed wrong limbs... hospital said oops and settled in court. A botched Wrist operation is far from death row.
I hurt my wrist over 40 years ago. They didn't have this type of technology then. The VA took some bone from my hip, and used it as cement to fuse my wrist entirely. My scar is longer then what was shown in the video.😁
Both my wrists have a large knot on the top side. I have almost no flex in either. And sometimes they swell to the point I have no movement in the wrists. Wonder if this would help me. But then this is one of my smaller problems. Ruptured disc times 4. Hydrocel in one testicle. Need right hip replacement. Right leg is 2 inches shorter. Guess my body is just worn out.
Hello. I had this surgery three months ago. My post surgery appointment in February 2020 revealed less than 5 degrees flexion with less than 10 degrees extension. My doctor suggested a flower plate extraction and capsulotomy to improve my range of motion. My search for information on these surgical procedures has been unsuccessful. Can anyone help me research these surgeries? Thanks in advance.

don't do this to people while they are conscious! they scream stuff like "Who are you" "where am I" and then just screaming! but now they cant move their wrist and escape.
I was diagnosed with stage 4 slac wrist and have been told there are no surgical options for me as the progression is too severe. Im going to be in pain and unable to use my hand for the rest of my life. Im only 31. Im putting this out there, if anyone has any ideas to provide, it would be much appreciated.
How did that happen? I broke my scaphoid 18y ago, first surgery wit herbert screw was unsuccessful. Had a bone graft made and it healed after 4 months wearing a cast. Now it hurts sometimes, my wrist has like 60 percent the capacity of the other one. I even have a small bump where the bone is. This stuff really worries me. Im 40y old.
I just recently had this surgery due to scaphoid fracture that turned into a non-union. Feb 18th and til this day still in hand therapy trying. To gain back grip strength. Lost crazy amount of range I just want to be back to where I can bench press again to where the bar sit right in my palm. Lol but other than that the pain is still there Gotta just let my hand heal slowly which it’s doing. In your case, I’m sorry that you have to endure that. The only way that can get repaired it to (just how they fused those few bones together in the video) they have to fused every bone in your hand including the ones leading to the knuckles (not the actual knuckle) THEN they have to fuse all of that to your wrist. So basically you’d have a stiff arm no flexation or extension of the wrist whatsoever. But the good side of that, you’d be in much less pain IN THE END. To be honest, you have to go through it to get to it 💯 but if your hand is manageable now like you can do a few things with it and can SLEEP then maybe try a different route. Because one thing about this surgery is they definitely have to cut your nerve and block your whole arm. That process itself of me gaining my feeling bsck took months itself. Now it’s back but my thumb point & middle finger still got a sort of tingly feeling lol some night the pain just starts aching out of nowhere and I get noooooo sleep. But the thing is faith. Is you have the faith together that hand better and you actually put in the effort to make it happen, you’ll overcome this. I can tell you no brother it’s just a test of faith 💯 God is going to make a way for you 🙏🏾💪🏾
I broke my wrist after a bad fall off my horse 2 years ago resulting in this surgery. A plate and screws an cast for almost 2 months my recovery time was more painful then the fall. Still not a 100% but functional an i can tell you when rain is in the forecast
I have a rare disease called Keinbock's. I would have had this surgery if not for the fact also focal dystonia hit me in the same wrist. *shakes head* So it is interesting to see what could've been for me.

they dropped one of the tools mid surgery but still used it, therefor it wasnt _completely_ sucessful
