These are great for thick batter cakes, but for thin batter cakes, in my experience, they do more harm than good…they cause underbaking. But for thick batter cakes they are awesome!
No problem! Specifically I tried using them with the preppy kitchen spice cake, and the end result was underbaked. But with the preppy kitchen carrot cake, they worked great, probably because the batter for the latter is significantly thicker.
The title said "Do they work?" I was expecting the same mix to be baked with and without the strips to actually see the difference. It was a good review but in that regard I was disappointed. A better title would have been "Why use baking strips." Great video otherwise.
Sorry. That would of been great idea! I did spray pan also sprinkle little flour. Then move pan around thur and extra in my sink. Nothing stick, I have also try parchment paper (I have video how to cut) before then spray sides that works for me too.
I've never try using those cake strips, but somehow I managed to pick cake recipes let's stay fairly flat on top after being baked as long as I bake them on the correct oven rack.
So recipes I have do the same thing. However most of my recipes I used strips. Specially when I have a double or triple cake recipe I used strips to make sure it dosen't slip n slide 😅 when I'm icing them. Love your feed back. Happy baking!

@@dab7271you have to bake longer than recipes call for when using strips.
I just watched Preppy Kitchen guy show these cake strips & UA-cam led me to you! Glad to know they work. I will try these!
Thanks, I just found out about them too had to buy them and try myself
I work at Wilton and I also agree with you! :) My father doesn't like it as much since there is less scrap for him left over. Hahahaha!!
Lol 😆thanks for sharing that was funny. I like using strips if I'm build cake this way less cut more to enjoy😉
Agree 💯 % with your review. The strips also prevent the sides of cakes to develop brown thick skins.
Thanks for sharing
I have them in my cart cant wait to use them.
You are going to love them! I bought mine from Amazon. Happy Baking! Please subscribe to my youtube.

Thank you, that was great feed back! I just thought if you bake cakes they alway rise funny. With the strips they didn't raise uneven.
Please subscribe to my youtube channel! Thany you!
I was hoping you would take the cake out the pan for us to actually see the sides. But nope.
