I have made a decision that liberty junction is my favorite layout. I suffer from anxiety and mental health issues and don't leave my flat. You make my day with the antic
Key Model World did a modelling British Rail mag with a full 114 pages dedicated to class 37’s and nothing else. The mag tells their history and describes all the models ever made by all manufactures. I bet if you ever get your hands on this mag it’d make you want to buy at least another 20 class 37 models when you see all the photos of the different models out there ! It shows your model is from Bachmann’s 2006 to 2021 range. Good progress on LJ2 👏👍
Before you reach for the cork... I laid my track down on 3M double sided tape about 20mm wide and 3mm deep, it not only sticks the track down without needing pins, it's then raised perfectly for ballasting giving you a decent shoulder. You can also then easily lift one edge around corners if you want to cant the track (I spelt it right!) or super elevate as some call it. Give it a whizz on a small section. I can't do big Hollywood productions like you but I think you can make it out in my vids, I must get some more done soon! 😉
Yeah I’ll take a look into that, I used Dcc concepts foam bed on LJ1 but I did find some cork that I ordered and never used which I why I was thinking that, only thing with the 3m method you won’t get any wiggle room for last minute adjustments will you I imagine it’s instantly stuck solid? I’ll defo look into it still as an option especially for banked curves etc 👍👍
I've used Woodland Scenics Trackbed in 25' rolls, rather than cork. Good points: highly flexible for curves, and reduces noise (at least until you glue your ballast down). I glued it to my baseboards with Copydex, and have found in later revisions that the Copydex can be rolled off by hand. I also laid the track on Copydex and have been able to make revisions with the skillful use of a narrow flatbladed finishing trowel slipped under the sleepers. I hold the bullhead flex track in place with pins until set, and weight down the track with some of my big thick college and aircraft manuals. Challenge: I have also used it in the hidden areas - fiddle yard and tunnels, under Walthers Code 83 track, and I have been having a lot of trouble with the curves developing too much super elevation. I think the heavier flex track is fighting curvature and as it tries to straighten out, has been depressing the spongy roadbed a bit. I can't prove it, but that is the only explanation for excess super elevation. This has not been happening on my Peco and Legacy bullhead curves.
@ yeah I used the Dcc concepts foam stuff (looks very similar) also copydex on it, absolutely agree that’s the best stuff to use due to being able to peel it off if required 👍

There’s a few DRS locos here at Colwich, in fact the older Bachmann model started it all off, bloody love that compass livery😍 I don’t think I’ve got any of Olivia’s though, be careful she doesn’t want it back after watching your video….
I don’t normally touch anything Hornby with a barge pole these days as I’ve been wholly disappointed more than once with the rubbish they turn out & expect us to pay top dollar for it, but the HM7000 decoder thingys seem half decent, I might give one a try.
LJ2 is coming along nicely it’s amazing what you can get for around £50 (just in case the wife is reading this) good to see you are “future proofing” the new layout in the off chance you decide to add point motors👍
I’m off to Istanbul to get some Turkey Teeth fitted to one of my class 20s😬
Laters 👋
I’ve been the same with Hornby stuff and everything in the past seems to have a mind of its own with the z21 but so far so good (for the hour i’ve ran it so far)
I don’t have any class 20s but if I did I’d give em turkey teeth too 😁
