Awesome update and that is a really creative use of the mp3 board! Completely agree with your point on the sound cars, the clank of the wheels while running is boring, your approach with more realistic sounds definitely makes a run session more enjoyable.

I love this, i’m going to add ambiance to my layout by putting sounds of wheels clattering, farm animal sounds, birds chirping and station noise because i think a layout without ambiant sound just takes you out of the emersion, i want to imagine i’m a passenger on my layout riding in the sleeper or dining coaches feeling the train swaying as it goes down the tracks or climbing in to the cab of a steam engine as an engineer smillling burning coal asthe engine hisses and vents steam like it’s alive and the chuffing as the engine starts moving and feeling the strength of the engine as it works to pull its train to its destination,, not the sound of electric motors and gears

Congratulations dear Sir if there was an award for excellence in presentation of a model railway layout you would have just earned it! I believe that a full video of your layout with all of the clips like you had offered is definitely in order! On a side note while I know that you are basing your current model railroad layout off of the West Coast in the 1940s and 50s back in the earlier days of your channel did you have any Amtrak or conrail stuff? I haven't really watched your channel for all that long
Thank you for the kind words! I had Amtrak stuff on preorder years ago but ended up. Cancelling/selling it. The most modern stuff I have currently is Santa Fe FP45s and GP38-2s. Might do a video showcasing those eventually.
Awesome stuff Johnny. Ive installed some of the other boards Gun runner John offers, but haven't messed with the universal sound modules. Looks interesting. I think i can find a use for them on my layout as well.... Thanks happy new years
You should really watch the video about Broadway limited they have a great sound system called rolling thunder when the train gets closer towards the speaker gets louder
I've got a buddy who has Rolling Thunder on his HO layout. Really impressive stuff and def bring as extra level of sound immersion when running trains. I know SoundTraxx has SurroundTraxxs but I don't think a system like that or Rolling Thunder can be incorporated into a 3 Rail Layout at this time. Cool stuff tho!
