Do you think that leaving a CrossFit background I could see results lifting this way? My only fear is I’ll miss the cardio aspect which I know has my metabolism spiked up so high which I love bc of thyroid issues but I’m terrified to walk in the gym and only lift
Hmm… I would probably swap one or two of the lifting days for cardio days if you decided to do one of the purely lifting programs. These programs lean on the strength and hypertrophy side of things and don’t have much cardio. I believe some don’t have any cardio at all.
Hey there, thank you so much for your extensive review :) that’s very helpful. Before subscribing, I was wondering: if I choose one specific program and then I realize I don’t like it so much, is it possible and easy to switch to another program?
Hmm that’s a tough one! If there is a trainer on either app that you really love and you’ve tried their workouts from instagram / UA-cam or whatever before, I would go with that app. All else equal, I think EvolveYou gives more value for money right now since there’s recipes, a lot more trainers and programs available, and a community tab. But Alive is really great if you want more of a mental health focus, there’s journaling and gratitude functionality in the app! I also like the Alive challenges better, they include a lot more wellness stuff instead of just workouts. Each app really does have its strengths and I loved both. I would do a free trial of each if you can!
Hi! Great review! I am currently searching for different apps to try out for at home workouts with very basic equipment (mat, resistance band, a couple of dumbells). I’ll definitely do those free trials as much as possible. But how would You evaluate Evolve You app- is it more to use with gym equipment or would it be worth for at home workouts as well?
I only tried the gym programs (except for a few yoga flows I did at home). They do have a few home programs, but there are a lot less home programs available compared to gym programs. I would say gym programs are their strength.
@cadencestringer yeah my card got declined while trying to subscribe. I called my bank and they told me that it's from Britain. They automatically flag it as fraud. 🙄
I haven’t tried stronger by the day, but the concept looks cool. I’ve had a really good experience with EvolveYou. Looks like they both have free trials, so I definitely would test them out if possible.
That’s a tough one, I really do like each of them! Evolve you has recipes included and has more trainers and programs, which I love. Alive has progress tracking, a daily journal, and gratitude journal which is great if you want to focus more on mental health. I also like the aesthetics of Alive a little better! I liked the workouts pretty equally across both, I think the apps are really comparable. If I was choosing, I would go with the app that had my favorite trainer on it- like for example if I really like the style of Whitney’s workouts she posts UA-cam/Instagram I’d choose Alive. Both have free trials which I would highly recommend doing first if you can!
For the advanced level, I loved EvolveYou and Alive, but since I do all of my workouts at the gym and tested programs meant for the gym, I'm not sure how the home workout programs are (although I know that both of these apps do have home programs available.) Alive has more of a focus on mental health (journal, gratitude prompts, etc.) and also focuses mostly on lifting and HIIT workouts, EvolveYou has tons of trainers and variety of programs available and also has recipes included with the subscription. I think each has pros and cons!

Great informative review, thank you for sharing ☺️ have you tried the Shreddy app?
I haven’t, but I’ve had a few people request it so it’s on my list!

Yes, it is super easy to switch! You can switch programs anytime :)
Hi! Would you recommend Alive or EvolveYou? I go to the gym regularly but want a structured program to follow now.

I wanted to do this but I found out it's from Great Britain. I can't purchase. I thought your company was from USA
I live in the US and I was able to purchase! I think it’s available worldwide?
@cadencestringer yeah my card got declined while trying to subscribe. I called my bank and they told me that it's from Britain. They automatically flag it as fraud. 🙄
Oh no!! ugh, that's so annoying! maybe their customer service can help out?
I'm leaving my coach in December and am torn between Stronger by the Day or Evolve You, have you looked at them both?
I haven’t tried stronger by the day, but the concept looks cool. I’ve had a really good experience with EvolveYou. Looks like they both have free trials, so I definitely would test them out if possible.
Thank you! I'll give them both a try :)
Hi I’m so unsure about the app I want to use between alive and evolve you. Can you tell me your personal opinion and tell me which one you like most?

Your eyes are actually insanely beauitful
Thank you!!
Do you have a favor fitness app for advance level at the gym and home?
For the advanced level, I loved EvolveYou and Alive, but since I do all of my workouts at the gym and tested programs meant for the gym, I'm not sure how the home workout programs are (although I know that both of these apps do have home programs available.) You are awesome! Thank you for your honest reply. I will be checking Alive
