I've had the Falkens on my 2 door Sahara for about a year now. I really haven't noticed any road noise when I'm on the pavement. They do much better in mud than I thought they would. I like them a lot , I'd buy them again.

Hi there- I am looking for a super quiet tire for my 2022 4Runner. These seem to get good reviews. how is the drive quality ?

If you want super quiet with great all terrain traction buy the Michelins ltx m/s tires. Best on road truck tire in the world, it’s not a rock crawler. If so then get ko2’s and forget about noise as a realistic concern.

have a set of 35's on my wrangler here in Florida. I have to argue that for an a/t, these do great in the mud. they get a little slick but that's expected as its an A/T tire, but threw mud holes in Osceola or Ocala national forest, they have not failed me at all. probably my favorite tire out of the couple I have tried and ran.

Getting my second set now. I've put about 10,000 miles on my 275/70/18 AT3Ws on my F150 and I've been nothing but impressed. Even pulled out a friend in super slick mud. Not to mention it was a 7000 lb 95 suburban (2WD) with 5 big guys, dog box, and 6 beagles. We started hunting that day on frozen ground and came out to soup so slick that we kept falling down. This was the only time I have ever needed 4x4 in my F150 with these tires. I ended up pulling them a little over an eighth a mile in these conditions up a hunting road that was literally just as wide as my truck. Needless to say, I am getting 5 for my 99 wrangler TJ on Monday. 265/75/16's and I will probably buy the same ones when I regear eventually, just in a larger size. I can't wait to eventually get some lockers on the Jeep and see how they do.

The AT3’s are superior compared to the KO2 in my opinion. I ran the KO2’s for a while and they are great tires but I prefer the Falken Wildpeaks now. They are more confident in the rain compared to the KO2 I can definitely say that for sure.

They are louder than an all season or a mild a/t tire like a dynapro or scorpion, but really par for the course as far as most a/ts go. Winter traction is where they shine, along with load handling as they have very stiff sidewalls on LT Rubber. If you're going mudding, go pizza cutter, or opt for mud terrains. These are now available at discount and some Walmarts, so they would be excellent overland tires. Because of the tread depth, they tend to size tall. 275/70 18 are about 33.5" tall. lt265/70 17 are about 32" instead of most being 31.6". Keep that in mind when considering a non matching spare.

OK, so I have a set of these AT3W on my 2005 Power Wagon. I put these on from my 2020 Gladiator as they were the OEM tires tha came on the Jeep. I took these off after 1 week and put a set of 35" Dick Cepek Fun Country II on the Gladiator. I have to say that the Wild Peaks work great on the Power Wagon. Everything that I have done in the Pacific Northwest with them I am impressed. Great on the road, good in the rain and so far the snow that I have attempted with them they are great. Road noise is minor compared to the FC II. I plan to put a set of these in 35" on our FJ Cruiser. The FJ is our dog wagon as we use it all the time to get to the mountains and the Wildpeaks will work well when I don't want to run the snow tires.
Everything that I have seen so far from the AT3W's has impressed me. I actually had my company put these on the truck that I use regularly for my job. This is on a Ram 1500 Eco-Diesel. The other folks that use this vehicle have also said that these are good tires getting to our Hydro facilities. Good Choice if you are looking for a great AT tire that can be used in the winter as well.

We have a 2000 Ford Excursion. It had Good Year Wranglers that I couldn't get rid of fast enough. Then a local tire shop talked us into a set of Vanderbilts over Michelins. They didn't even last a year. Then we got Michelin LTX M/S2 tires. They would go through more snow in 2WD than the Vanderbilts in 4WD and lasted for years. I installed a lift and wanted 315/75R16 tires which Michelin doesn't make. After a lot of research we got the A/T3W. We've got less than 200 miles on them, but they've made a great first impression. They're quiet and handle well. Winter is almost here in Wisconsin, we'll see how they do.

I recently put these on my Chevy Silverado because I was sick of the backspinning and too many near misses doing light off-road work in the factory installed Bridgestones. Hands down... The best tires I've ever put on this truck. They ride so much better down even on the shottiest county roads than the wife's Michelins.

They absolutely destroy the snow and I found them to be just fine in the mud. They will last double the length as duratracs as well.

I just put a set of 265/70r17's (roughly 31.5 inches) on my 2020 Ford Ranger and to be honest the road noise is virtually non existant, it's probably 10% louder than the factory tires are. I've had plain old straight winter tires on normal cars that were quite a bit louder than these AT3W tires. I have not had a chance to fully test them offroad yet, I only went for maybe 15 minutes without airing down but from initial impressions these things are very good, can't wait to air them down and really test them. For the price tho you can't go wrong unless you don't like how they look or something. Definitely recommended!

Just bought the Wildpeak AT3W's for my GMC AT4. (275/65 r18) I was replacing noisy Goodyear Duratracs of the same size. I was torn between the Nitto Ridge Grapplers and the TOYO Open Country tires. I wanted something that looked sporty and aggresive. I decided the Nitto Tires had too much going on, although I did like the looks quite a bit. The TOYOs had some designs on the sidewall, but I felt it was more cosmetic than functional. I had heard two main complaints about the Falkens....one, that they have some highway noise at high speeds, and two, that they were sometimes hard to balance and had vibration on the highway. Nevertheless, I decided to pull the trigger on the Falkens. I've driven over 100 miles now. I can gladly say my fears were quenched. I did not hear any highway noise at 70mph. The steering seems a little tighter to me as well. I'm very happy with my choice. Love the looks and love the ride.

I was up riding snowmobiled in the U.P. in the winter of 2016/2017 and our group rode by three new Jeep Cherokees on a feeder trail, each with 2-4ppl in them. I always wondered if they were out doing tire testing.

Great video. I’ve been curious about these tires. I had a set of Falken MTs on my old crawler. I’m curious how the sidewalls will hold up over time on the rocks? The Goodyear Duratrac has been my favorite snow and ice tire so far, but I can’t run them on the trails because I ended up ripping two sidewalls in one summer when I had maybe 15K miles on that set of tires. It sucked because I really like the Duratrac but I wish they had stronger sidewalls. I’m running Cooper Discoverer ST Maxx now and they’re ok on the snow but I wish they did better in the snow. They’re great in the rocks though and have 3 ply sidewalls. I really like these and think they will be better in the snow with all of that siping and the tread compound, I just don’t know that the sidewalls would hold up. Best option for me would be to have a set of summer and winter tires 😂😀😃

Is there a big difference between the P rated and LT beside the tread depth and max load capacity? I have a 2022 tundra limited TRD off road and I was wondering if I should go with the passenger rated tire or LT. If I only tow a few times each year and go off road a couple of times, I feel like the P rated should be just fine but the price difference isn't that much between both so that is why I am hesitating. Is the P rated is a 6 ply ? Or I shouldn't worry about getting a flat with this.

I have the passenger Wildpeaks AT3Ws in 265/75/r16 for my Toyota Tacoma and they are relatively quite on the highway for me. Do the consumers complaining about the highway noise have the LT rated tires or M/T rated tires?

    • @TrailBuilt
      @TrailBuilt  3 роки тому +2

We really don't get any "complaints" about road noise, we just hear that some have noticed their noise at highway speeds... which there could be a multitude of reasons for that. Maybe alignment was off causing uneven tire wear which leads to a louder tire. Tire noise can be very subjective and situational!
