Welcome back to knitting! Your flax light sweater is stunning! I just finished my first raglan sweater thanks to your video tutorials. Thank you so much! I agree that knitting opens up a whole new world of colors you can choose from instead of being limited by store bought. Can you please do a tutorial on the Drops pattern called Foggy Autumn Cardigan? I’m itching to make make another sweater, but I could still use the guidance.

Well hello there from Beausejour Canada. So happy to see you back. I love your colours. You got me hooked on drops nord. I just finished the Blanche blouse from Susan Crawford. My thing right now is fingering weight sweaters with a coordinating cardigan. Not twinsie but coordinating. I need more hands. Can’t wait til the next episode
Thank you, I'm loving the lighter weight to . It gives more options to layer up and means we can wear things over different seasons . I think I'm right in saying Canada is like the UK and can have 3 seasons in one day . We need layers 😊
That's great you have taken up the needles again Tina! I find it hard to find a balance in my crafting life too: it's either this, that, or the other and nothing else😂. I have hardly crocheted for months, but I recently sold a bunch of yarn and am excited about picking up my hooks again. Your sweater looks fabulous!
Sometimes we need a restart to ignite the enthusiasm and see with fresh eyes . I'm sure over winter you will be cozy with the crochet 😁

The yellow looks great. The flax sweater is a fun knit, and so many sizes. I've knit a few for my grand kids, time to knit one for myself. Going to try that Drops Nord, it looks like it knits up really nicely.
Yes the stitches look really nice in the Nord . It feels quite luxurious surprisingly for the price . The larger needles compared to sock knitting in Nord makes a nice soft fabric . Happy knitting
It is so nice to see you again. I can so relate about not knitting sometimes. Our attention sometime shift to other things. If my crochet or knitting does not bring me joy, then I let it be for a while. Soon enough though, my knitting bug comes back and off I go. Great video Tina!

I didn't knit for 19 years & then took it up again. Love the goldenrod sweater. The fit is perfect & that style is very slimming BTW.
🤣 I thought that editing, very slimming. The camera does lie 😁 . I think the drape of the Alpaca helps

It's a very versatile yarn , inexpensive and hard wearing in my experience. I think drops need to pay me a commission 🤣

Yay, so happy you're back to knitting. I enjoyed your cross stitch content (although I don't cross stitch). You seem so happy when you talk about yarn and knitting. Love the flax lite. The color is beautiful for you. I typically have a complicated knit, and a simple knit going on at the same time so I can bounce between the two, depending on my mood. Currently have some socks going with Drops Nord. Can't wait to see how they wear. Happy to see you looking happy. Take care

Welcome back! I have to say that I love the blue and white Flax sweater you were wearing at the beginning of the video! I'm working on my second Flax sweater and I am really loving the pattern. Your color rabbit hole was really interesting. The goldenrod is beautiful, but I think the green cowl definitely looks great next to your face.

Great choice of colour and I think your dark hair really pops and is a good contrast, the yellow gives a slightly edgy vibe too.

Lovely to see you again Tina, I love your jumper and you look fabulous in it. I am a "multi-crafter" too and I completely understand what you mean about being so involved in just one type of crafting that our other projects get left behind. I have been the same but with my cross stitch. I hadn't touched mine for about 8 months but then I saw the free Christmas sal from Durene Jones and that has got me stitching again, I am still knitting socks, they are a handy TV project aren't they? I have 2 pairs to get finished for Christmas gifts so hopefully I'll manage to get them done 🤞 see you next time.

Hello Tina 😊I like your sweater a lot, I am a big fun of the simple, "more quiet" designs! That's my style! Most, if not all, the sweaters I've made are like that. I do like colours and they look better on simple lines sweaters. The colour looks very nice on you, as does the whole sweater actually. I 'm looking forward to seeing the yarn you bought 🥰👕🧵🪡🧶

I did the colours thing a few years ago because I was fed up of having loads of clothes that didn't go together. I don't stick to it very well except for never getting black. Love the yellow jumper, it looks great!

I love your goldenrod flax sweater . Ive yet to make a sweater... i had something done , years ago, I think it was called Color Me Beautiful. I cannot remember the palette name for me, but it was dark teals and greens , the goldenrod, many earth tones...all the colors I love..so I was pleased with my results. Hello, my daughter and I spent the whole Saturday at Alley Pally...enjoyed the catwalk by men sew too with sewing bee contestants.
I have got my 1st order of a sweater's worth of drops nord in navy hopefully enough for pair of socks too. ❤
We watched the men sew to , it was fab, did you see me ? It's a shame we didn't get to say hello 😀

So glad u r back. U deserve a break. I like the style of sweater but the color (?)... I have the same hair color and skin color (per TV monitor) so I thought Winter was the color. I was assigned this season. But I really hate any shade of yellow. The bright (red?) Top u knitted last summer was gorgeous. Also, I don't feel good in green, unless it's a dark green blue. But it all looks great. U probably didn't like knitting in 100° weather. I don't care how cool air conditioner is. I think y'all have a diff word for air conditioner. U look great all's well with the world.😊
No I'm definitely a warm season , now I know why grey drains all the life from me 🤣 I agree with you jewel tones suit me which leans to winter but I definitely suit gold rather than silver . Thanks for watching and your thoughts 😀
Happy to see you knitting again! It's funny, I'll be starting the flax dk soon, also with no garter panel. I've knitted the original flax with a garter panel, my first sweater, but I just want a simple, elegant raglan this time. I still haven't 100% decided between regular and cropped length.
Decisions, decisions, luckily its one chose I don't need to make, it's always longer for me . I do love the cropped on others but it's not in my comfort zone. Happy knitting 😃

I have bought some yarn for her coat but she has taken up residence in my bedroom as the craft room is having repairs . She says she can't live in squalor, so she moved out 🦊🤣

So lovely to see you again Tina. After listening to you I bought some Drops Belle Cotton (posted to New Zealand). and knitted a Ranunculus. I had to play around with the gauge, but finished it, and I'm extremely happy with the end result. I also bought some Navy, and thought I would knit a Tolsta. You always inspire me with your knitting, so really glad you are back to it. :)

I’m at sock dilemma as well. I have quite a few, do I need (or want) more?? Trouble is… I love to make them!!! Fairly quick end product (…ummm not like a sweater…) and so many choices! Stripes (yarn’s doing, not me😂), textured, vanilla, … ahhh, sigh… okay. I’ll keep making socks!
Mitts/wristers are fun to make, even quicker than socks!!
Do have fun picking out (new-ish) colors!!!
Yes mitts are a good alternative to socks and are good little gifts to use up leftovers 😃 happy sock knitting

Hi Tina, that’s quite the rabbit hole you went down. I think all the garments you’ve made to date look(ed) fabulous on, whatever colour they were. Your golden flax is also beautiful on you, and seems a perfect length. Is it a compliment to say it looks store bought? By which I guess I mean it’s beautifully knit(ted). Re socks - I’ve often wondered about all the socks people knit! Yes they are a great car knit or travel knit, but how many socks does one person need 🤪. So, you do you boo - knit ‘whatever’ in whatever colour you like - I enjoy seeing you whatever craft you share. Hopefully we’ll see you soon 🤗

Hi Tina, so good to see you knitting again! I am at that season in life where I am frequently hot! And I live in GA so we have e hot weather. Over the past few years, I’ve changed my wardrobe to include mainly sleeveless linen dresses (I wear dresses most of the time), cardigans and a few pullover sweater, but then I add a splash of color by my face, in the form of cowls, shawls, scarves. That way, my wardrobe can be any color, as long as the extra item by my face fits into my color palette for my skin tone. The sleeveless linen dresses can be worn year round, so while it isn’t necessarily a capsule wardrobe, it is a very practical wardrobe. It is working pretty well for me.

I'm working on a flax lite as well just getting to the break off for sleeves but need to pull it off the needles to see if I am there yet
I usually knit half a round with another needle if I have the size , try it on , then finish the round . I also sometimes measure . I'm not as confident in this but it's always worked so far. Your at an exciting stage , happy knitting

I had my colors "done" back in the 70s, and 50 years still have the fabric swatches that go with Spring. A few years ago I saw myself in a photo wearing a mauve-y pink blouse and realized how completely unflattering that cool tone looked, even though I like the color. Just not on me! I think your new jumper looks great on you!

@Simplyinstitches In the first Rocky film, the girlfriend is dull/frumpy until near the end when she is seen wearing black and red, Winter colors, Suddenly she's gorgeous and glowing. i think the best Spring greens lean toward yellow, lime or chartreuse.

It was 358g so I would say 400g (8 ×50g ) 😃

It's the Flax light by Tincan knits . A free pattern 😃
I don't see you as a "Spring" at all, I see you as a "Winter" but the camera and lighting can be misleading. The question is do you look better in silver=cool or gold=warm?? How do the metals reflect on you. The green you choose is a "Summer" green because it blue base which a Winter could also look good in... cool base not warm at all.
I'm definitely gold , that was my main decider . But yes I'm a high contrast spring , no washed out or pastel colours for me 😁
