Very well done Bill, a treasure has been restored. One of my favourites, love the blue with the blue coronation coaches, it’s the white lines flowing down the side of the train which adds to its special look…. Well that me. Thank again for the video and the short run around the layout. All best Marc
Its your attention to detail. Obviously the model had been apart before arriving with you. I just love the way you zoom in on the problems almost instinctively. Another great overhaul.
Nice work on that model. I have to admit that the front reminds me of an airship in some ways. I love the colours though. Another great video mate. Peter.
Another old classic running well again. I love the LMS streamliners, and had a Crimson Lake KG VI of this period many moons ago. I do prefer the more modern ones. Al.
I picked up the wartime black city of Edinburgh and it's a great looking loco, I'm not keen on the other colours, maroon and blue. Great watch as usual. Thanks.
Thanks again Bill for another good servicing video. These locos were designed in the 'art deco' period which accounts for its strange streamlined appearance (images of Poirot, et al, come to mind). I've been looking for an n-gauge version but there doesn't seem to be any! Once again, your systematic, problem-solving approach is great to watch. Cheers
Interesting to see the coronation class loco with a ringfield motor in the tender. Mine has an X04 motor in the engine. Valve gear seems so often to be a problem. Monique from Brisbane
Nice one Bill. All of the pick-up wheels on the loco were in place, back to front as well as some untidy moulding flash(?) causing such problems? Nice to see it running there. The Coronation Streamlining plates added another 9 tons to the loco, or so I read anyway. Great stuff Bill. Keep Warm now. Cheers!
I've got a GWR 28XX, tender driven, and the driving wheels I've notice catch and lock. With so many GWR locos of varying ages, atm I'm just going through basic maintenance, but this video makes me want to check what you revealed today. To 28xx is in good condition, so will look to see if I can pin point the fault.
In many cases, Streamlining was like painting racing stripes on a car. It generally didn't increase performance. In some cases, it made performance worse. That being said, the main benefit was appeal to the public as something "new and improved" compared to conventional steam locomotives. Personally , I like Norfolk and Western's class J #611.
Hi bill brilliant video I have one of them same colour and livery but my one is locomotive driven with a x04 motor keep up the good work and videos Bernard
Excellent job once again Bill. I wonder if more people associate streamlining with the A4s and Mallard so to see a different approach to streamlining can seem slightly jarring. I think the Coronation class is pretty impressive looking in its own way.
Dear Sir, I do not know why, but this Coronation Class always reminds me of H. R. Giger's Alien creature. Not a favourite also, but would love to have one in me collection, its weird shape adding a wee bit of variety to an otherwise squary lot. Cheers from Brazil!
I really enjoy your repair videos! When I was a lot younger they would have help me so much! Could you list down the tools you use and the various greases, oils etc. Thank you Harry p.s. my favourite loco was a Triang B12
Another Fantastic film from you Bill, I see that you are not a fan of the art deco streamlined locos , neither was I until I saw the Duchess at the York Museaum. I now have a model which I will re-region .
seen it also ,but as you say everyone to there own, living next to the S&C and seeing The Duchess on many occasions i preferer the un streamlined version
I have got a un stream lined duchess of Buccleuch and it's a locomotive drive and it runs lovely I'm not a Fan of tender drive Even though bill has mended two tender drive locomotives for me
Billy O' , Tho I'm in your camp far as streamlined steam, I'll gladly take this one's design over those ultra modern ugly ugly white Asian bullet trains with their Duck Billed Platypus snouts !! This one kinda resembles our orange US Hiawatha locos of our old Milwaukee Road... Any road (as Ringo says) she's certainly is runnin' nice now !!! Good, thorough job as always, sir...
Looks like the loco has been dropped then dismantled and re-assembled incorrectly. People forget the photograph and check wheel polarity before doing any work on a loco. Also carpets and locos do not mix!
Far better watching you then scratching your head over a service sheet, thankyou

The blue livery of the coronation class looks wonderful tbh.

Great work Bill, so many little things to fix, but when you add them all up it makes a huge difference. 👍

Running very smoothly Bill
Once nice job

A pleasure to watch as always Bill. Your layout's looking good.
Great livery colour scheme, another restored locomotive Bill great video.

Nice troubleshooting Bill.

Bill you are a genius, a great video and I'm learning you have to look so carefully im going to have to get some 4 plus glasses
I buy mine in cheap multipacks from Amazon. It's handy having a few pairs lying around and they do break easily. But they are essential for me.
those screws at the bottom of the tender were painted over on mine too

Interestingly Sir William Stanier wasn't very keen on the streamlining either!

Each to their own but never been over struck on the coronation class locomotives
Have seen the maroon one in the national railway museum, beautiful machine, each to their own I suppose👍
seen it also ,but as you say everyone to there own, living next to the S&C and seeing The Duchess on many occasions i preferer the un streamlined version
they are nice running Bill I have this one and Coronation which a I made up from a static model
I have got a un stream lined duchess of Buccleuch and it's a locomotive drive and it runs lovely I'm not a Fan of tender drive Even though bill has mended two tender drive locomotives for me
Great video 👍👍
Bill would you happen to know the dimensions of the small brass tube spacer on the front chassis mount cheers.

However if I was gifted one I would kindly receive it..off to my local model railway exhibition tomorrow
