British badgers can be quite large imo - dog-size at least. Notoriously fearless, they will turn and fight if they must (not your easy kills) and are unafraid to go rummaging in urban areas and their rubbish stashes. Farmers don't like them for some reason, and are always agitating to kill them claiming they transmit Bovine TB (I believe). But they are handsome creatures - with big teeth!
Badgers here are vicious. You don't want to get anywhere near them. People here don't like them because of the danger and they dig holes pastures looking for gophers and food where an animal can step in and break a leg. In the grain field they make a rough hole and hill to bounce over with farming equipment. I don't mind them, they go their way and I go mine
