  • Repairing a puncture on a car tyre using a DIY kit. It only takes a few minutes and tyre is holding air perfectly. I'm no expert... this is and easy fix that anyone could attempt before you pay garage fees

    i fixed a puncture with these (no glue) and did about 10K miles on the tyre with no problems at all, one word of advice >> when buying the kit buy a kit with metal tools as the plastic tools can struggle to round the hole in the tyre and cut the actual plug/lace. yea but it worked great, it was a rusty bent old humongous wood screw that holed my tyre, I did think the hole would be too big to fix.
    great video showing how to use this method of repair, better than the instructions that come with the kit !

    How many kilometers/miles did you drive with the tire?
    What speed was he driven?
    Were there any problems?

    Good to see you inflated it to exactly "the correct pressure".

    How close to the wall would be too close use the plug? I hear 1" and you can't use it, is that right? Many thanks

    Is that not the tyre shoulder, so shouldn't be repaired like this? Just wondering as I have a similar puncture.

      Middle 60 to 70% area can be fixed (depending on tyre width) otherwise it should be replaced. Although, I would argue those rules are very conservative.

      nope, I've had ones on mine for the full life of the tyre... so it's permanent.

    I was told by a tyre shop worker that the repair can only be done between the tread like this example. A Puncture that is on the surface of the tread isn't recommended? Has anybody else heard of this?

      A tire fitter repaired my car tire puncture today but another friend just told me it's illegal now to do it this way they should remove the wheel and do the puncture from inside ...not sure what to do.@@xpresscolourart5531

    Yeah that shit isn't safe at high speed on the motorway. Might be okay going 20-30mph around town but any higher I'd change the tyre.

    • @dannykyla69
      @dannykyla69 Рік тому

      Agreed not recommended and not safe. New tyre! Will fail an MOT

      @@dannykyla69 Good luck to any MOT tester spotting that repair. It is outside of the 70% central area so would be a fail, but it won't be spotted

      What do you think will happen at higher speeds.

      What are you actually basing this on? Just a guess or actual facts?
