@@moahmed1618 "it's soooo much better" Lets be a little bit more realistic. Its like 10% maybe 15% better in cherrypicked games. Its also more then 10% more expensive. Also the raytracing performance is worse by a large margin, but that may change in the future due to consoles running amd gpu's.
@@moahmed1618 also the smart access memory from using zen3 processing with x570 or later gives it atleast 6% in every title they tested all the way up to 13% so realistically it’s around 2-5% faster for over 10% with worse ray tracing drivers and software

I know your comment was meant to be a joke... But... For it's performance, your 1050Ti's 4Gb is a good fit. While pushing settings, you'd drop into unplayable framerates long before you run into memory pool size problems..
However, for it's performance, the 3070's 8Gb is not a good fit.. It's running into memory bottlenecks (and resultant stuttering) in current titles, long before it hits it's performance ceiling, and that's at just 1440p!! (as noted in Hardware Unboxed's review, Watch Dogs Legion with hi rez texture setting)... Not good.
@@bliglum Bliglum - as far as I'm aware though with Nvidia implementing SAM into this card it should fix this issue, with games going forwards I'm quite sure that games will be made to save textures into available dram?

Seen other videos saying don’t buy the 3070 or the 3070 ti. I honestly don’t know what they are talking about. It’s like they are telling us don’t waste our money on this and buy the 3080 instead. I honestly would like to but the price was way over my budget and of course an overkill. The 3070 ti which I have, is just right for my needs. It does just as the same as the 3080 in my opinion only except the rates are little lower.
there's a 100 buck jump between the 3060ti, the 3070, the 3070ti and then i believe it's a 150 dollar jump from the 3070ti to the 3080 so that's where the performance-to-price ratio starts screwing up the consumer.

Still have my gtx 1070 overclocked it and it's amazing nearly 5 years old and still play cod mw with high settings at 100fps

I'm still going with a 3070 over waiting for AMDs cards to release. It's cheaper and provides amazing FPS in games at 1440p, so no reason to get anything better or more expensive.

Exactly! Secondly amd put the benchmarks of their gpu with amd 5000 series but the benchmarks of the nvidea cards were with amd 3000 series cpu as people only know about the power of 3000 series. They played!!

I just got an RTX 3070 for £450 from a mate who had to sell it (cost of living crisis) and it runs amazing with my r5 5600x and 1440p 165hz monitor. Runs basically every game maxed out well above 60fps. Ray tracing and DLSS are great too, huge upgrade from my aging 1070 Ti
it was a really good upgrade from my gt 710

@@MrTuxy Nailed it... 8Gb was generous when the 1070 came out in 2016. Adequate when the 2070 dropped in 2018. But today, heading into 2021? 8Gb is lacking.
Severely lacking IMHO, when the inflated prices are factored in.. It's already been proven to bottleneck CURRENT games, even at lower resolutions than 4k, like 1440P! As noted in the Hardware Unboxed review, they ran into issues in Watchdogs Legion while trying to run the high resolution textures, again, at just 1440p!! Not a good sign.... Moving forward, it will undoubtedly become more of a problem.
I think 6800xt is the smart buy. 16 gigs and 3080 performance plus. All these cards with minimal Vram 8Gb - 10Gb keep us spending money every year or every other year. Even if you play 1080p, games would grow into the performance peaks eventually. So if your tired of paying so often, go big and coast for awhile. That's my plan, I'm gonna overshoot and take a break from the spending grind. my eyes are set on a 3080 tho, GDDR6X
Nice but a 6800xt would be smarter, with the same performance the price of the 6800xt is less/the same as rtx 3070. Actually if u could afford a rtx 3080 then get a rx6900xt, it’s way better for the same price too

Why do people say stuff like, "This card is too much for 1080p gaming."? … Do you think that people who want to play RDR2 at 1080p are not worthy of good frame rates? That in your mind they should buy a card based on other titles. Not demanding titles like AC, RDR2, GR Breakpoint, Horizon: Zero Dawn, or Metro Exodus. Or the new upcoming titles over the next two years.
If I was playing at 1080p I would happily buy a 3080. It would play the more demanding titles better, and I could frame rate cap in less demanding titles. Hence saving power. It would be futureproofed for a good while, and I could run Nvidia DSR at higher resolutions.
Really interested on the back of this I managed to get a 3070 Aorus master as a really really lucky impulse buy. The card as far as I’m concerned is worth it as it was an upgrade from a 1060 6gb, however I made the dumb mistake of paring this with a 60hz 1080p monitor. I’m now in a situation where my i7 7600k is running 75% and my GPU is running at 75% but my monitor is just not up to the task. Bottom line don’t go and spend loads of money on a GPU if you have a crap monitor, you won’t notice the difference and you’ll need another £400 to really see the difference in panels. Totally my 2 pence on the subject and any monitor recommendations would be great to receive. Sorry for the ramble here’s a thumbs up 👍 as we don’t have a 🥔
If DLSS 3.0 is able to work in any 3d rendered game title in the future, 3070 will be fairly future proof, even with just 8 gb of vram. You could utilize medium/high textures and DLSS would sharpen everything anyway.
I upgraded from a 1080Ti to a 3070. 3070 was the first GPU that made sense to upgrade from 1080.

So... don't waste your money. But in future titles, the 8GB of ram will be pretty limiting in 4K. Even in a few months we will see games that will uses more than 8GB in 4K. So definitly a good card for 1440p, but for 4K not in the long run

I dont know why they haven't done this kind of design before I've always thought why have the card blow out the sides instead up and then rear fan blow it right out .
Exhausting hot air into the CPU cooler area is considered evil and rude. An AIO front radiator sucking air in won't suffer but there's limited space to duct that flow of hot air away from air coolers. Yes, it has been shown experimentally to raise temps in cases.
Cards have generally sucked in cool air from below and then pressure (and convection) forces it around the card sides or directly out of the case.
The problems using this style of card in some cases as air is trapped against a plate, demonstrates mini-case designers wanted to partition CPU and card airflow

I have the asus tuff 3070 and the auros 3060 and either one is great but 1440p monster is the 3070. I won the 3060 and bought a prebuilt for the 3070 and then changed everything about it and I love it and the 490z msi
Why your cpu cooler is in the wrong direction?
If the 3070 is still a little overkill for your typical 1080, 1440p gamers, what other card would you recommend that would be less expensive? I'd prefer something from NVidia because I'd like to stream and want to use the encoder built into some nvidia cards so I am not maxing out my CPU
The 3060ti is basically a cut down 3070 for quite a bit less (at MSRP anyway).

waiting on my 3070 right now. had to get a prebuilt to get my hands on it. luckily i needed the pc anyways for streaming so ill just be doing some part swapping. all said n done gaming pc will be i910900k rtx 3070 =)
I did the same thing, I would rather pay 1 thousand aus dollars for a pre build with a rtx 3070 and replacing it with my old card than paying some unreasonable amount to a scalper
Personally I target high refresh rate 1080p gaming, so even this is not really overkill. I have a 165hz monitor and this card paired with one of the new Ryzen 5000's will enable me to get that in a lot of games, so this really is a perfect pairing at it's price point for those targeting that performance level. Even 1440p isn't hitting those super high refresh rates like 144+ on a 10900K so the 3070 isn't overkill for those targeting that level of performance either. Clearly if you want high refresh rate 1440p gaming, a 3080 is where you want to go as of this moment. Maybe the new AMD cards will also satisfy that need, but it's clear that the 3070 is priced very perfectly right now with such huge performance overall.

Your 1440p Horizon Zero Dawn benchmarks are wrong. Even The RX 5700xt Will get 60 fps in HZD and the 3080 certainly gets more than 70 fps

I get what you're saying that most gamers don't need a 3080 to play most of the AAA titles these days. What about in 2 or 3 years? I know we can't predict the future or even guess how it's gonna go but you can still get a 3070 or 3080 so you don't have to upgrade as often.
probably still wont , as drivers for these games and for the Graphics Cards are constantly updating and optimizing all the time. the higher end 3000 series cards (3060 and up) probably will last another 4 5 years

i got the venus msi 3x oc rtx 3070 and im glad by the results but it feels like an overkill
for 1080p definitely. but its perfect for 1440p and begins to struggle at 4k.
guess I should've bought a 3070 rather than a 3080...oh well
If you don't play in 4k then no you didn't need a 3080 but the extra power will help down the road

I just picked up an MSI SPRIM 3070 and I could not believe how far I was able to go on my core clock with over clocking. I have never in all my years every been able to overclock a card as hard as I have with this card. Nearly a 20 FPS boost...sometimes more in other titles. I turned my 3070 into a 3080 for a fraction of the price XD
The Suprim is the best model there is, best cooler, big max power limit.

I was thinking to get 3070 (if available in store LOL) to play sim racing - Assetto Corsa competizione with triple screens, maybe max settings or somethings the card can handle. I am yet to see any youtube video try out triple screens. Thanks in advance.

It was clear from the thumbnail that the guy is telling us to not waste any money for anything above a 3070. So there is no clickbait.
Honestly I would get the 3070 for mainly 1440p or super good 1080p and maybe even light 4K on modern warfare, fortnite like I’ve seen it and I think it’s a good card even tho it’s pretty expensive but if you have the chance to get it msrp honestly I’d do it.
