Our 11 Rav 4WD Limited with a V6 has been an awesome suv. We get 4-5 feet of snow every winter and we Never have a problem with it. It’s been extremely reliable.
I own a 2011 Toyota RAV4 Limited V6 4WD w/ JBL Audio and I love it. This is the best car I have ever owned. I have done two family trips down to Florida from NYC without anyone complaining about being uncomfortable. It is very comfortable and fast. 0-60 mph comes @ around 6.5 sec. I have done a lot of upgrades to my RAV4. I upgraded the stock JBL radio to a Pioneer AVH4200NEX 7" touch screen radio. Kept the factory JBL speakers which sound great. I upgraded my suspension to the stock sport model suspension which are technically Tokico blue front struts and Tokico blue rear shocks. I prefer the sportier stiffer feel of the sport suspension over the more comfy limited suspension. I also upgraded my stock 17" x 7.0" limited wheels to the stock 18" x 7.5" sport wheels riding on Michelin Permier LTX 235 55 R18 tires. Upgrades my brakes to Akebono ProAct pads and StopTech slotted rotors along with Mogul Dot4 racing brake fluid. These upgraded make a night and day difference in ride handling and braking on an otherwise boring car. My RAV4 is technically a RAV4 Limited/Sport V6 4WD and is truly one of a kind. Because of the 269HP V6, I would not change it for a brand new 2017 model.
Lisandro Genao I owe a 2016 Corolla but I am looking to to buy a used RAV4 maybe 2011 with about 103k miles in it do you think it’s worth it ? Only reason I need an suv it’s because of the snow. Will it be worth the money ?
Nice I’ve been wanting to upgrade the brakes on mine as well if you still have this UA-cam account can you tell me did the new brakes and rotors give you more of a bite on the pedal?
This is unbelievable! I have a 2012 rav4 4wd v6 and I was behind a Toyota Supra GR. At the light he gunned it and I kept up behind him till 70mph. Light ahead turned red and he pulled to the left so I can level with him on the right. I switched off Teac control and engaged the 4wd. He looked at me and reeves his engine. Light turns green and I pulled ahead with full car length and he was right behind my tail until I had to shut down due to construction ahead. He looked embarrassed and stayed right behind me and wouldn’t dare level up with me at the next stop light. I was shocked and that was my first race with a sports car.
I have an 07 V6 Limited. 40 k miles. I inherited it from my mother. She bought it brand new in 07, drove it once then never again. Its accelaration from a standstill scared her. Worried me a bit too when I inherited it. But in quick time, you get used to the accelerator. This car rips, especially on the freeway. Hyper-cruises at 70 at ~2000 rpm.
My younger sister sadly passed away almost 3 years ago in a different state (USA) and I have not given the attention I need to so I can take ownership of her 2010 Rav4 Limited with the tow pkg, 9 speaker JBL, well it's loaded. I have driven my Acura TL 2001 for almost 15 years and I love the car, 127K miles! 3.1L but takes premium gas: $4.00/gal USD now I'm dealing with two motor vehicle departments. Hopefully I can get the Rav4 prior to winter! Thanks for the video.
We like the rain guards. We can keep the rain out (We live in WA state USA), they stop the snow from coming into the car. During the summer you can crack the windows and led heat out.
Great video! Thanks for the thorough review. Just bought a 2009 RAV4 Limited V6. Excited to try it out! Your video reminded me of the song, "Mon pays ce n'est pas un pays, c'est l'hiver!"
nathan koroush I'm in Ontario, I don't like them because snow and ice can cling on and affect visibility especially in a smaller car. But yeah in the summer when I'm in a drive through with my windows down and it's pouring....I do wish I had them.
Great review very entertaining and full of great information. Might be buying a 2010 limited V6 with 39000 kilometers. I currently have an 06 Highlander with a V6 and love the V6 for highway driving and towing my little boat.
I have the 2007 version of the RAV4. It is still going strong. It was rated at 268 horsepower when new yet it still has the same acceleration today as it did in 2007.
@aesthetic boi those V6s are a rare breed. The 2AR-FE is only marginally better in fuel economy. The 2GR-FE V6 is worth it for that generation of Toyota. I only wish V6 Hybrid was an option on this latest gen of RAV4s. I guess the Venza is the best middle ground we can get..
@Bass Dojo the V6 easily accelerates uphill 30° slopes near 3000rpm, I4 probably would require flooring it near redline to do that! Never underestimate low-end torque! That's why I love my 2010 V6 4wd Limited!
I have an 07 rav4 base with the 2AZ. I haven't got into inspecting the cylinder walls. It burns oil but this Rav4 is the best I've driven. I prefer this Rav4 over the 2018 is because the trunk space is more spacious. Cargo space is very spacious as well. When check engine comes on, center locking diff will kick and the setup is that of an old school car with no traction control.
i have same car from 2012 and never get boring or hate car and off road it work perfectly wth no issues and for power section i have some race with powerful car and never let me down before some dayes i beat dodge v8 pickup 2010 from 0 to 160km thn he stopped cus of defence between cars .
Rain guards for me in the past aren't just good for the weather, but also good for letting the air in and keeping bugs out. I am so hoping I will get this 2011 Rav4 tomorrow. Good review! Mine has a zipper cover around the spare tire and is not 4x4. At least I hope it will be!
I purposely chose an exterior color so that I could have the light tan leather interior. Gloomy Grey and Coffin Black became popular in 1990, which was 32 years ago. If you still like it, you’re stuck in the 90s.
I'm enjoying my second hand 2011 4-cylinder model and wouldn't want to sell...not anytime soon. Any tips on upgrading/ changes I can make...? Plus, tips on pimping it...accessories et al..thanks Great review. I enjoyed watching the video...
How many times do you have to actually push the start button to start the car though? If you have to push the start button 3 times that's kind of ridiculous.
Road noise is abnormally high in these things in my opinion. I have a 2012 Limited that came with Continental tires. Recently changed to Yokohamas and that made a huge difference. So, 1. this RAV 4 does not isolate road nouse very well to begin with. and 2. tires DO make a difference
@@adesonbame3215 Well as I said I have Yokohamas now and they are way better than the Continentals that I had on it. Thats the only experience I have with this vehicle. The particular Yokohama model I have is the Avid Ascend LX

I knew this response is 3 years later but maybe it will help someone. Go for the 2012. Previous model years had some issue that was costly to fix such as the bursting oil hose or rear alignment issues. The 2012 model year corrected all previous year's issues. It was also the last year of the V6 and this generation RAV 4

I wish you had put that in the video, it would have been nice to see how the car reacted without the safety systems on. Really, in order for the snowy bank test to be fair, the same tires need to be used on each vehicle. But that sounds very expensive to me!
You are right for the explanation, this one is not a recent video, now we try to show the setting on screen or explain them a little bit more. for the other part, maybe but we dont have the budget to do a face to face :P maybe one day, we are getting bigger every day and i make a promise that when we can, we will do a SUV faceoff with diagonnal, offroad and snow/ice test with all the same tire!

When you're stuck on the snow the first time, why did you engage the low lock 4x4 on the SUV to get out of it instead of pressing on the gas paddle? LOL
it was for the I4. However, the V6 has an issue where an external oil pressure hose could burst over time emptying your engine of oil and destroying your engine. Toyota change the hose to full metal one in 2011 or 2012 model year - and thus preventing that from happening again.
The RAV4 AWD system is more of a small "assist" on flat level ground when conditions are not crazy and one needs to pull away from a stop light slightly quicker than the front-wheel drive vehicle next to it.
