Richard I will share something else that will help you out with backing into a building when the sun is out an blinding you an it is dark inside the building. To stay squared up to the building is put a painted line out on each side of the door this also helps you to stay squared with the door so you do not back into something inside the building where you can not see it because of the bright outside an dark inside. This helps out more if you are backing a trailer into the building. Just a thought. Hope your weather works out for you an your bees . Thanks for the update.
I think even if you’ve got no verroa Bees seem a lot healthier and happier after they’ve had a oxalic treatment. We don’t find your shed boring. It’s interesting to see all the work that goes into making good bee shed. ❤
You might want to consider placing those bumpers 2 to 3 feet out and overlap the opening about 2" Gives you a little reaction time. Also consider putting them on the inside as well.
Hi mate, little question why are there 2 different types of underlay for the underfloor heating? You doing a great Job, will you be in Telford next Months?
Hello, yes, long story short, Plumber had enough old stock of old type polystyrene to complete the two small areas. exactly the same for me because when its all finished its all just concrete over the top of it! cheaper too by a lot. Not complaining about that!
Hi Richard do you put pollen sub on your bee for a fast spring build up for o/s rape .it seams to be earlier each year .if you do what sort of date do you put it on thank you
Hi Russell, generally we don’t give any pollen sub to colonies in the spring because we feel there’s so much pollen out there the minute they can get to it. They bring in absolutely bucket loads and we tried different things over the years and found nothing really makes much difference. when we find Pollen sub does benefit colonies is when there is a dearth and then home made or industrially made pollen sub, that is technically artificial and it’s made from different proteins. We find that does help the bees a lot. And the same has been found for people who take their bees to pollination, and there is no natural food around supplementary, pollen substitute is definitely beneficial when there’s no other pollen around, but in case of where there is extra pollen, the bees will go for the natural stuff over preference
Can't hardly wait for the honey extraction to start
Me too
Progressing well! It will be great when it’s finished, I’m not jealous honest

So smart. Glad you’re well
How early can you feed sugar water to your nucs?
Hi Benny, as a general rule we say as long as the bees are flying regularly it’s fine. If your unsure feed candy.
Nothing exciting going on in Ireland, only getting blown away by the wind.
Pretty windy here too
