Hey controller Force/Bouncer/Tech players. If you are interested in using magic quickly and switching on the fly. Equip the same weapon on the different equip slots. Equip different spells to each of those slots. then you can just press up and down on the dpad to easily switch between spells. :3
Tech/Bouncer main on PS, I do this now hahahahah. Fr tho, I put fire-ice single target (sry forgot the names only rmb the ele) on pallete 1, fire-ice aoe on pallete 2, lightning-wind single target on pallete 3, and lightning-wind aoe on pallete 4.
Literally like how I do this then find this video and see this comment which makes me smile uwu/ I'm even currently experimenting the limits that can be pushed since I'm using bouncer, soaring blades and jet boots with both charged active skills with all the elements equipped on sub plate except my two favorites, which the light and dark elements replace my least favorite skill for boots L2 + 🔼 default move and put elements in it's place, I even added the jet boots weapon action to the blades as a quick counter :3
They should allow combination button macros .... like R2 + Circle / L3 + R3, etc ... so the subpallete would be much easier to use if you for example do a combination with L2 + buttons for 1 2 3 4 5 subpallete side and R2 for 6 7 8 9 0 subpallete side ... pls you could do a video about this. Maybe the developers would pay attention.
You can, kinda. As you get comfortable with a certain rotation that you’re hitting (your combo) the enemies with you can hold stuff down and follow up with your next attack it’s like being 1 step ahead. I got use to it by dodging attacks up closely no matter what enemy or boss it is I come across but idk I’m still new so it’s a work in progress. I came from elder scrolls online (Tamriel) so skill canceling is my thing lol 😅
@@yutue2live I'm using the Dark Souls Style of controller set up. Animation Canceling as a Hunter is awesome. Sadly, the 3rd Person Shooter Camera isn't that great, in general. But the Hunter can do interesting maneuvers with the 3rdPS. It's mainly ranged weapons which are crippled by 3rdPS because that camera system is slowed down severely when doing attacks/abilities. Unlike Lock On, which is easier for ranged weapons.
Also useful af to just have a keyboard pluged in, remove the camera back out issue, there is a few shortcut that already exist like holding the right side of the pad to enter instant chat mode or hold the start button to open the world map instantly; game just came out on PS, so i can imagine they will add more over time, but yea, def would love more shortcut and combo button macros too like in ff14~
Best Protip I can think of: USE THE DS4 WINDOWS SOFTWARE! This will let you map keyboard buttons to the touchpad and gyroscope (if you want to use that as well). I can use my entire subpalette hotkey setup using L3 for the first thing, the touchpad gestures for the next eight, and the PS button for the last one. L2 already palette switches for the weapon, so it's a handy button to use to load in another control profile while held. I have everything on this the same as the first except for the touchpad and PS button actions which I replace with numpad 1~9 for weapon/subpalette switching. Personally, I've also done a few other re-mappings of my own such as having R1 and L2+R1 being mapped to subpalette-bound weapon actions for my multi-weapon. PSO2 handles mixed inputs very well and DS4 Windows can be used to basically custom-build a control setup that you find intuitive.
As someone who has played since PSO2 base came out in Japan with a controller, I can say one of the BEST things I found was actually to get one of those old-school chatpad keyboard accessories for your controller. The subpalette system always felt terrible to use, until I could just reach a little lower to hit the top row of the chatpad keys and just instantly activate any option. These might be pretty hard to find now, and I've always used one meant for an xbox controller, but there really are just far too many essential buttons to use in this game for a gamepad to make sense. I have to wonder if using the sort of trigger-button combo system FFXIV has would be an improvement, but I don't think it would work well for the twitch response times in PSO2/NGS.
I played this game from day 1 on PC with a controller. And still having a keyboard along with your controller is a must. It's so much more convenient since you have more keys to use so that you can free some buttons in the controller for your combat stuff. They do sell those mini keyboard that attaches to the ps4-ps5 controller if your in a playstation or just a regular USB keyboard for an XBox.
I switch the bindings so that weapon action is a dedicated shoulder button, and O or B is used as the 3rd skill action, then switch the interact button to R3. You lose out on the zoom-in function, which I never used, but it frees up a spot on your 3rd Skill Arts actions for anything since you can remove the weapon action from the pallet, such as a Technique, health, or more skills from a sub weapon. Super handy and I hope I made this make sense!
My PS4 controller set up is... X = Jump [] = Weapon Action (like Blocking for Sword) = Weapon Ability Swap (Tap instead of Hold) O = Interact/Pick Up Items R1 = Dash/Run L1 = 1st Weapon Ability L2 = 2nd Weapon Ability R2 = 3rd Weapon Ability R3 / Right Analog Sticks = Lock On/Camera L3 / Left Analog Stick = Walk, Move, Use Item in Slot. D-Pad Left and Right = Item Slot Select D-Pad Up = Weapon Swap, Item Row Swap D-Pad Down = 3rd Person Camera swap to and from 3rd Person Shooter Camera Touch Pad Left = Emotes Touch Pad Right = Chat Box If I had a PS4 Scuff Controller, then Jump, Weapon Swap (clock wise and counter clock wise rotation), and Item Swap (clock wise rotation) would be placed there. Mainly since advance movement in PSONG is hard to do with the default settings. Like Animation Canceling (using Block or Dash) and Wave Dashing. Even the 3rdPS camera is abit like GunZ with this level of Dashing. If only this camera was properly built, however. It's difficult to be accurate with it since an attack/ability will slow the 3rdPS camera down severely.
I use R3 - Weapons Action L3 - Look target L1 and R1 - Switch sub pallet Right arrow - use sub pallet Left arrow - Switch weapon Up and down arrow - Zoom in and Zoom out Right touch panel - Toogle map (to use mini map extended) Left touch panel - default quick panel And the rest normal, i really recomend it for quick fight and explore as well to zoom in and out without having to go to the settings
I really wish there was built-support for button combinations. It would be cool if you could hold down one of the triggers and access alternate inputs for more actions (like with the Item/Action Bars in Monster Hunter).
I play PSO Genesis in PS4, with a "soulsborne" style layout controler. R2 and R1 to Light and Strong atack, L1 to defense , L2 to use weapon arts. X to jump and O to dash/run, and press R3 to track Target
For PlayStation Controller, long-press the center panel on the rightside to switch to the place that you can type and talk. Once you get there, you can press down to select the stamp or emote, etc.
Here's a tip that's helped me for over two years: change the interaction/confirm default button (circle or B) to L3. That way you have tha face button available for combat. I use R1 to select a subpalette attack and R3 for weapon action. I also use a keyboard attachment so pretty much the only thing I'm missing is emote shortcuts (it requires the ALT key and the attachment doesn't have it). Hope it helps
They need to change the controller layout anyway because as TeFo I am already out of space to put everything on. No idea why we need RT to run. It is 2022 every pad has analogue and even on PC with just arrowkeys they could just give us run from a double tap direction which would gives us one whole new palette on RT. Also A ALWAYS being jump even while in a palette makes no sense and makes it so we only have 3 instead of 4 buttons per palette.
I’m really struggling with controller there just isn’t enough keybind options. I recently switched from gunner to ranger and having to use the sub palate for so many things like blight rounds is so painful
My controller set up is built in a way that I can use all of the weapons. However, Manual Aiming is a let down, in general, where Lock On is better. But I mainly play with unlock. And Animation Canceling + Wave Dashing is extremely potent against any enemy I faced. Unless I'm spamming ranged spells. I'll hover in the air.
Idk if it'll help anyone but the way I have my controller bindings is as followed. Square = Normal Attack (Action 1) Triangle = Action 2 R2 = Action 3 L2 = Pallette Swap X = Jump O = Interact R1 = Dodge/Sprint R3 = POV Change (Over the Shoulder View) Left/Right Directionals = Sub Pallette Navigation Up Directional = Sub Pallette Action Down Directional = Weapon Change L1 = Lock On L3 = Weapon Action I play a lot of soul-like games and this is usually how I map my things. The weapon action and the dodge/Sprint can be swapped but this is all just a personal preference.
This helps a lot, I still have to figure out an optimal setup for me (that is NOT the default one)... as crazy as I am, I have to set up 2 different controller schemes... kinda (1 for Ps4/5 controller and 1 for Xbox One)... and maybe keyboard+mouse (yeah, I play the game on both Ps4 and Xbox in terms of consoles... and PC... because sometimes I'm lazy to boot a specific version because is not connected the console or whatever, so... having multi-ways to play the game is totally convenient for me). Edit: One thing for sure for me is the fact that I will have to keep an easy access to the over the shoulder view as I like to play as a Gunner and while I don't really use it much, it really had helped me regardless of only trying to focus on a specific spot while exploting or as Gunners or any long range attacks could be by manual targeting.
Ever since I got my steam deck, I been playing a lot of PSO2 on it via steam link streaming. So this video came just in time for me to set up a great QoL template for PSO2. :D
Anyone on PS4 able to help me out? Trying to figure out how to stop chat from auto capping every letter whenever I add a space between each letter/word.
By default I think to get to stamps on controller you double tap the right side of the touchpad (or long press, i forgot) .. then I think you hit circle? and then you can go down to the section that has all the stamps, symbol art, face expressions, etc. and use them from there.
My main class is ranger, and I use a PS4 controller. I've already changed my key bindings. I just wish that they had a way to decrease the deadzone for the camera. Manual aiming feels delayed in NGS. It felt more responsive in base PSO2.
Manual aiming feels too slow, even at 70 in all turn speeds for controller. More specifically... The manual shooter camera is fine of you're just moving around with it. The moment you attack or do a manual aiming capable ability, however. This camera slows down to a crawl. At that point, lock on is better for 99% of fully ranged attacks. Except for the lazer ability on the massive gun.
I played pso2 with a controller from xbox launch to pc launch and just plug a keyboard and mouse into your console. I didn't know this was an option back then and I wish I had known sooner.
So what would people recommend on controller when swtich to different active skills hate having to take my finger off the left stick to click on the left or ride on d pad just to move to a different weapon action art is there any recommendations to make this easier I do have the ps5 pro controller with the pads on back if that'd help at all
Hello I've been watching a lot of these videos and was curious if there were any that mentions how to do story missions with party, as well as if there is a trade features so I can directly trade stuff with my friends instead of needing to pay mesata
If I had a Scuff Controller, then the 4 paddles are for Weapon List and Item List swapping. Just to make it easier to achieve the Devil May Cry feeling of this game. Otherwise... D-Pad Up it is.
Hold select / start to get a quick-drop into the sector/map. I've been playing with an 8bitdo and my only regret is the r1 button broke with Wand parry spam. Still works tho, so im still using it! (Keyboard really close to chat and acces quick menus)
8:48 Enemy too high up, too far, repositioned yourself wrong, etc? With my Lord and Savior, katana/wired multi, you can keep your enemies on a leash and ensure they're never out of reach! I'm also fairly new to ngs on console (meaning I knew absolutely none of these tips) so I made it work with what I had 🤣
I set up my controller to achieve Animation Cancel, Wave Dash, fighting while moving the camera at the same time, and... "Sword, Trick, Sword, Trick, Sword, Trick, Sword, Trick." - Devil May Cry I main the Hunter Class and rarely do enemies at the early game zone, hit me.
I use a controller for everything other than the sub pallet. I have a keyboard I bought for mmo global chats that I use for the sub pallet it makes using skills much easier.
Man.... I've been a console player since day one. I didn't know about zooming out and in towards my character which is a game changer! At the default setting you may not see enough of your surroundings especially when jumping on platforms and seeing enemies who aren't in your line of site.
Without a PS4 Scuff Controller. D-Pad Up is my Weapon Swap and Item Swap interface. I press "Up" then "Up" or "Down" to pick a weapon/item. "Left" and "Right" will swap between Weapon List and Item List. "X" to equip the List and "O" to exit from this menu. On a Scuff Controller, the Right Handed 2 buttons are for Weapons and the Left Handed 2 Buttons are for Items.
The controller support is really basic. Sega needs to step it up. We need button combinations and contextual buttons. Having 1 keybind assigned per button in a game this complex and fast is really bad. They need to do a complete overhaul. It’s impossible to properly dash/sprint and play slayer with its multiple counters, manage sub pallate, manage lock ons, with such basic controls. It’s got simpler controls than Genshin impact and that’s a bloody mobile game.
Forgot to re-download windows10 version to set uo my link so im teasing myself by watching Playstation content... Hopefully i csn get tweaker to work...
Hey so my cousins & I jus started NG on PS4 but the Braver, Bouncer, Waker classes aren’t showing up with the rest of the classes when creating our characters?? Someone help?? Lol
They show up after doing some main missions, till you arrive at capital and get mission to go to change class counter, which where you'll learn how to distribute your skill points, you can change your class whenever you want after that. Main class, subclass menu, and other thing like personal shop, weapon enhancement shop, unlock through the story too, so just focus on doing main task they give
I have a good setup that I feel like is very intuitive Jump: R3 Dash: L3 Over the shoulder: Select Target mode: R1 Activate Subpalette: R1 Weap Action: Square Back Palette switch: L2 Att 1: R2 Att 2: Triangle Att 3: Circle Use/talk: X This setup makes it very easy to do the dive also with the combo keypress. The big takeaway is that putting dash and jump on the thumbsticks makes it super intuitive and easy to control
Can someone help me with link pls , I’m so frustrated, I need someone to launch the game via my steam account and send me the linking code for my ps4 I can’t do that cuz I lost my pc for good
It's cool till your controller joysticks are dying and and you ruin a video that you are a backdrop in by accident ya sorry about that. Character that starts walking on its own
That's usually the time to replace the old controller. But I played GunZ before. PSO2NG is similar in how much is needed to fully utilize the mechanics. Especially when high mastery Devil May Cry style is possible in this game. No enemy can hit me, 90% of the time.
Well, I'm better stick with mouse and keyboard since I'm grow with it. I can play with xbox controller but the feeling of mine is off. Ps: and please stop whining about sega not fair for not making a walk button function for pc console, you wanna walk? Buy controller! Problem solve.😏🤭😎 (most player in ngs whining about cannot walk for pc console to show off some cool fashion.🤣🤣🤣)
Ok ...after watching this controller set-up after 5 minutes I couldn't handle the cringe... Change your controls to what's comfortable for you not this crap 🤣 this is so horrible and fumbling around to accomplish anything like attacking it's just so bad... Maybe worse then the basic controls it starts you at. 🤦
@@cartoonvideos5 Yeah, NGS is horrible but Pso2 is still a great game I would 100% recommend to anyone into the genre. There’s very few games even today, 10 years later, that come close in terms of story, combat, customization in cosmetics and builds, and depth of gameplay, that also have 8-12player co op.

get a controller with programable paddles , I reprogrammed L3 and R3 to right and left paddles using elite controller comes with software
If I had a Scuff Controller, then the 4 paddles are for Weapon List and Item List swapping. Just to make it easier to achieve the Devil May Cry feeling of this game.
Otherwise... D-Pad Up it is.
It would be nice if they patched in a button function for pinching/ sliding on the track pad of the ps4 remote
How to make the bottom right chat log go away completely in controller
Option to make all text/chat larger?
I think that's in the Settings before (on PS4) you pick your Character Profile. It doesn't have an Input Binding.

I switched my sub pallette to L1 R1
make a video on how to link Xbox account to PlayStation please
Its easy
Since u dont have an account on playstation it gives you the option to link accounts to other platforms
There is no enough button to do all action, means sega did very bad job on key setting.
You could fit every action in the controller. Except for Camera Zooms and the bottom options.
I have a Xbox one x that I have been using for 2 years the console itself is great. But I think my parents Internet create some problems
How'd you change the color of your energy coming out of your feet
Its a motion dash! (The one you are seeing in the video can be obtained from the current Mission pass for free!)
@@keroppi thanks alot:o do you mind telling me what lvl? All these new items confuse me haha (I'm new^^")
The controller support is really basic.
Thanks, bro!
Forgot to re-download windows10 version to set uo my link so im teasing myself by watching Playstation content... Hopefully i csn get tweaker to work...
Hey does anyone know how to get braver
@Myamsa MRS ah ok thanks
Xbox elite controller with clip on keyboard. Best of both worlds! 😁👍
I have a good setup that I feel like is very intuitive
Jump: R3
Dash: L3
Over the shoulder: Select
Target mode: R1
Activate Subpalette: R1
Weap Action: Square
Back Palette switch: L2
Att 1: R2
Att 2: Triangle
Att 3: Circle
Use/talk: X
This setup makes it very easy to do the dive also with the combo keypress.
The big takeaway is that putting dash and jump on the thumbsticks makes it super intuitive and easy to control
*Me:* your gona say connect a mouse and keyboard?

@@jimjones-zx8ih I dunno want to start over ngl , I just need my code for the ps4 , the idea of losing the data is killing me
How do you "lose" a pc?
@@moreOddThanNess because an electric issue my oc get burned like on fire lol
Pso2 control settings are better than Pso2 new genesis.😢
It's cool till your controller joysticks are dying and and you ruin a video that you are a backdrop in by accident ya sorry about that. Character that starts walking on its own
That's usually the time to replace the old controller.
But I played GunZ before. PSO2NG is similar in how much is needed to fully utilize the mechanics. Especially when high mastery Devil May Cry style is possible in this game.
No enemy can hit me, 90% of the time.
😊👍
PC gamers... am i right?
This game combat system feels so outdated even when compare to the elder scrolls online.
😂
tip #0
dont use controller
controller master race
step 1: get a real machine i.e. a desktop PC
step 2: wonder how you're suddenly better
Wow…..greeting new PS players with a childish “I am superior, you are inferior” based on platform is just pathetic xD
Touch grass please
