Ultralight Pond Hopping For Whatever Bites In FLORIDA!

- Опубліковано 7 лип 2024
- I had a short trip to Orlando, Florida recently for work. I wasn't really planning to fish, but my buddy asked me to bring some gear, so I grabbed my travel rod and some tackle. Sure enough, we ended up having some time to fish, so I am glad I brought it! Thanks to @DaveWhiteoutdoors for showing me around while we did some pond-hopping!

Had a blast bud! Can’t wait to get back out there with you on my secret spots when we have more time!
You da man Dave! Thanks again.
I appreciate that you respect the fish's privacy and blur their face.
Musta been a Japanese tilapia...

That raindrop was the worst 😂😂😂
If you're in florida again, a great way to tell if there is any gators in any body of water, is to stick your fingers briefly into the water. If your fingers are wet, there's gators. Hope this helps!
Lololol yes I have heard this
Crazy looking bluegills! You're right... I've never seen anything that looks like those here in Michigan! Brave man going to Florida in the summer, even for business! lol
Haha it was a big muggy but it was a good time!
Love your content best on UA-cam!! Love your baits as well!! GOD Bless brother. Hope you and the family are well
You the man, Caleb!
Gator is like, "Jump in, I'll show ya what a little guy I am!"
Lol truth!
The water spot makes this video look like a secret and I’m here for it.
😂 literally that rain drop was so annoying
I got that same rod on the strength of one of your videos. fantastic to keep in the car or take on a bike ride!
It is definitely among my favorite that I own. Not as fancy but it gets the job done!
I could feel that humidity when you stepped outside. I miss it.
Haha that dang rain was the worst part!
I have definitely used 6x tippet on my ultralight before when I forgot to bring my fluoro but I did have my tenkara rod and tackle.
It is a good way to do it. Might start using fly leader as my leader line on UL
I just moved back to WV after living in Florida for about 7 years. The fishing down there is unreal. I miss it. I love all the coppernose bluegill down there. Also the bass are absolute units.
Really ? I'm here on summer vacation and feel like the fishing is pretty hard (maybe because it's hot ?) And gfs family who were visiting say fishing in NJ was much better lol. So my real life experience and what I hear on the internet is a little contradictory
Florida seems like a really wonderful state for fishing. Hope to get back and explore more!
Awesome video man, Purchased some Mule Fishing Minnows, Horseflies and 1/80th ounce jigs last week, They arrive tomorrow and I cannot wait to test them out!!!
Nice to see the dink master is a live and we'll in florida
Doesn't matter where I am - I will always find tiny fish :)
There is only one wild animal that I feed. Frank the blue heron that lives at one of my favorite spots will sometimes get a bluegill from me. He keeps his distance but I see him watching me. If I hold a fish up over my head he will fly over. Bad, I know but he's my buddy.
That is honestly epic haha
Although you probably neglected to alert the Orlando area the Dink, master was coming they welcomed you. That Daiwa does seem like a nice travel rod...wheels turning...Now you just need to figure out more "work trips" with Dave 😅😅. Been to Florida a handful of times...still don't mess with gators. Blessings buddy
Hopefully I will get more chances to travel and fish this year! Good times :)
It's pretty cool to see your fishing oportunities in different states. The new "work trip" series. Too bad you didn't get a chance to fish for and catch a Mayan Cichlid, an Oscar, a Peacock Bass, or get chance to fish for a Clown Knife. Different parts of Florida to catch some of those for sure. Fun little video. I'm glad get the opportunity to do that when you travel for work. Most people do not. Thanks for taking us along!
I honestly hope to get back and experience the crazy fishing opportunities Florida has.
I am in the Orlando area and have a travel baitcaster in my truck for all the little ponds out and about. You are selling me on the daiwa presso though. May have to look into getting one myself.
I love this rod. Definitely a good portable option.
If you’re back on the coast, think about giving saltwater fishing a shot. Maybe hit up a fishing pier or do some surf fishing. Not sure what background you have with it, but it might be a good time, especially if it’s new.
Working the surf with an ultralight would be a treat.
Someday I will do some more saltwater fishing! Thanks for the feedback :)
Have you had the chance to catch some yellowbellies?
Apparently the official name for them is Redbreast Sunfish. Down here we call them yellowbelly bream.
I haven't found Redbreast yet. I hope to get back to the east and find some in the future!
Nice to have you in Orlando!
Thank you!
released 1 minute ago, It does not get better than this
Thanks so much!
You got the right rod
It is a good one!
Amen about the Presso rods being out of stock! Tried for 2 moths, bought a different brand. Then they tell me it is in stock. Looked again- out of stock!
Daiwa really needs to increase their focus on this rod. I feel like they could sell a ton of them but it just seems like they never make enough.
@@FishAnything Agreed!
Just getting into fishing and starting with an ultralight setup for panfish and trout! In fact I just bought your panfish kit from mule fishing. I keep getting skunked! Could you do a video on common mistakes in ultralight fishing and how to get to the fish!
Keep an eye out for any sort of structure/cover in the water. Reed bundles, logs, anything they can hide in or near. Trim a Donkeytail Jr down and use a 1/64 jig, and roll it as slow as you can, you'll catch some tiny bluegill and that'll give you a feel for where they're at. They frequently hit on a short pause. Temperature and time of day controls their depth - fish are ectotherms/"cold blooded", so if it's hot, they're deeper, when it cools/darkens, they come up shallower.
Thanks so much for the support! I do have a video talking about a few mistakes, but I’ll definitely keep this topic in mind for future videos too! ua-cam.com/video/31dO3fIYI6E/v-deo.htmlsi=l1aUs04sTJHIm0TN
Love your videos so much man I genuinely always look forward to your videos, love your gear you produce too, I’m gonna probably start my own channel due to ur influence 😭
Thanks! Good luck 🤠
You were almost in my neck of the woods. I live in Daytona
Awesome! I hope to get back for more fishing someday.
@@FishAnything that’d be awesome. St. John’s river or lake George are two good freshwater areas by me.
Let's gooo! 🎣
👊🏽🤠👊🏽
Just realized there is a bluegill /crappie hybrid! I caught a couple in one of my local lakes. Has the body shape of a crappie but the colors of a bluegill. Kinda weird.
Florida is my favorite state to fish in. When I get bored of not getting bites, I'll use my glass 2wt fly rod on the grass patches in the bay flats. The most reliable bite and a good fight on ultralight.
Also if you really want some orange in your gills, come to GA.
It is a really good fishing state... Probably #1 when you think about versatility (saltwater, brackish, freshwater) and most species.
@@FishAnything I've been to the Keys once and I agree with your statement. Fishing is dead easy there.
Along with native fish, the canals have big, hard fighting Black Oscars and other exotic species.
I hope to explore the Florida canals someday!
I enjoy your videos and learning about ultralight fishing from you. Received my first order of Burro Bugs last week and on the very second cast caught a small largemouth bass. Just curious what is the rod length of the Presso travel rod you are using?
Thanks so much for the support! I am using the 6' model :)
Peacock bass anyone!?!?
Someday!!
Hey man, I think you should test out the ugly stick dock runner 3ft. It's only 20 bucks, and it is crazy durable. Good for panfish, carp, bass, everything
I’ve been meaning to test this one!!
@FishAnything can I keep my mule soft plastics in my tackle box or should I keep them in the bag and tray?
Keep them in the original packaging for best results!
Where is that. I live in Orlando and iam still in search of good and not private ponds
I honestly can't tell you because I don't know :D Dave drove me around!
@@FishAnything 🥺
You fishing with 6# jbraid? I can never find it in stock lol
Discount Tackle usually has it available. Check the link in my description.
Great video how do you feel about the 4 piece travel rod would you say it's worth the money
Honestly it is one of my favorite ultralights for the price. A 1 or 2 piece rod is probably better, but the 4pc is amazing for travel.
Careful you might catch some crazy in Florida
I am already crazy 😂
Out of curiosity what reel
were you using
What tackle bag is that?
It is a Buzbe bag
2:15 Censored cause that fish was naked.
😂😂😂
When will your donkey tail junior's be restocked?
They are now back!
@@FishAnything Thank you, I ordered and when the fires stop, we will go fishing.
😂
Hi I’m a huge fan I just ordered some mule horsefly and 1/32 ounce jigs when could I expect to get thoes
Thank you so much!!
Those fish would have made good bait!
